I had a legal, first name change done in 202I. I definitely put on my application that I want this name to be on my Citizenship Certificate. The only document that even lists my former name is my birth certificate. Why are addressing me with this name in my email and on the AOR??

Hello!-- I am someone that worked on the North Slope for DUS several years ago, that is now interested in returning to work up there as a Massage Therapist. I have heard that there MAY be positions like this available at the largest camp (in Deadhorse?) but am not sure. Does anyone have any information about whether one of the oil or staffing companies employ Massage Therapists to work hitches during the winter season?

--I recently had a client who was a boundary pusher and up front told me that the current golf season had rendered him in need of inner thigh/psoas work, and all about how at the Chinese place he goes to, they work in pairs on him, and work this area. I had only had one other person say something like this to me before, when I worked at a franchise, and it stressed me out, but I dealt with it by ignoring the request and then telling the guy, afterwards, that I "don't work on the inner thigh because it is too close to the 'no fly zone' ". For this recent client, I thought I would try to find out if he was a creep, or if he had actually frequently had work on the area, and how had the practitioner gone about it, so I said to him, "I never work on this area, so what position are you in when these people are working this area, and how are you draped, etc.". He got kind of twitchy which made me think he was a bullshit artist, but then he DID describe getting diaper draped while supine and having his foot on his other leg, like a ballet passe. But then he wanted me to put pressure with my fingertips on his inguinal fold, and kept saying "oh yeah, oh yeah, that's good." So even if he maaayyybe wasn't just a creep, he then added that layer of creepiness to the service, and I was pissed at myself for not just maintaining my boundary. What really annoyed me also, afterwards, is just HOW ACCESSIBLE ones own groin obviously is for THEM to access, so if anyone else asks me to work on this area, I am going to say, "I don't work on this area, but luckily for you, it is highly accessible by YOUR OWN hands!!!!!!

Hello any fellow Washington Estheticians! I recently started working at a spa that offers dermaplaning on the menu. I currently only hold a Basic Esthetician license for Washington State, because although I did a 550 supplementary hours Advanced Practices program in Minnesota to get their AP License, the state of Washington did not let me get their Masters License by reciprocity. I told my manager that I had just looked up whether dermaplaning was in the scope of practice for a Basic WA license, and that it said online that it was not, only with a Master's License, and then she said that one of the other Esthetician had taken an online certification just for dermaplaning that they felt put her in a safe area with performing the service. Does anyone know of this is the case? I would guess that it is just like Minnesota, and that they NEED you to get the entire extra license to do any advanced exfoliation.........I think they may be accidentally breaking the law.

I am wondering if there is a YouTube Massage Therapist who is a small woman, with a small frame, showing how she is able to do deep tissue techniques without hurting her own body. Every person I watch on YouTube is either a man or a woman with a pretty robust frame, using a lot of closed and soft fists, and techniques where a lot of pressure goes on the therapists' own wrists. I am wondering how to learn to do very specific elbow and forearm work on people that feels very deep for them, that is not reliant on having a lot of muscle/weight of ones' own. Also-- It seems like it would be really helpful to be able to work on peoples' trapezius with my knees, somehow while at the head of the table, but I can't find anything like this online. I am not trying to get up on the table......

I recently started a job at a new spa, where the floors in the treatment room are moderately thickly carpeted. I am guessing that underneath is cement. Prior to this job, I always worked in rooms with wooden floors, and am noticing that I am feeling significantly more wiped out at this new place. Has anyone noticed a huge difference between working in carpeted rooms vs. wooden floors? I had initially thought that the carpet cushioning would be even better for me as an MT, but maybe it's actually more fatiguing because it has no give. What do you all think?
