This job market is hell

Just graduated with an accounting and finance degree with a placement year (finance assistant) and can’t seem to get anything from graduate schemes to entry level accounting jobs. Since starting of final year, I must have applied to over 300+ jobs, so tough😭…

Dilemma: Sales Ledger Clerk or potential Assistant Accountant? I am stuck seriously

So I have just graduated in accounting & finance and did a placement year as a finance assistant (mainly purchase ledger clerk) but I got an offer today for a sales ledger clerk (£25k) however I have progressed to a 2nd stage face-to-face interview for an assistant accountant role which is what I much prefer with the salary going to be £25k-£30k depending on experience but I much prefer what I would be doing as this is more advanced that sales ledger clerk. I really have a good feeling I can get the assistant accountant role too with ACCA study support but nothing is guaranteed😬 Or is it silly accepting the offer then if I do get it, leave shortly after starting? Not sure…

Is the actual accounting job hard in itself compared to an accounting & finance degree or ACCA for example?

just wanted to know if the job is much more complex/difficult than the theory?

Sales Ledger Clerk role out of university? Right move?

Just graduated in accounting and finance with a placement year (finance assistant- mainly in purchase ledger) and been applying to all sorts of graduate jobs, trainee accountant roles, graduate audit roles etc. but it is so competitive and tough. However, I may be able to get a sales ledger clerk role and thinking of just taking it instead of waiting and keep getting let down by the assistant accountant roles and grad schemes. Do you think this is a the right choice? I really want to finish the last 4 ACCA papers ASAP as I get 9 exemptions. Or is it worth taking the sales ledger role and continue applying? It’s so tough😂!

Sales Ledger Clerk Progression

So I just finished my accounting & finance degree and did a placement (finance assistant - purchase ledger). Now I am about to get a role in sales ledger clerk and wanted to know whats the best progression/pathway to become an accountant? I am eager to start my ACCA as soon as possible especially as I get 9 exemptions from my degree. Did anyone do accounting clerk roles post uni and if so how did the journey go and where are you now?

Graduate accounting roles or junior finance system analyst roles?

I am a soon to be accounting and finance graduate with a year experience as an accounts assistant for placement. As someone who now wants to work and do ACCA at the same time, what would you recommend? I do not particularly mind which roles but the finance system analyst role looks different and interesting especially with a combination of tech/IT?
