Events?

I just learned about the Open Streets event the day AFTER it happened. I feel like there are so many cool things that I miss out on because I don't hear about them until they've already passed.

What do y'all use to see what events are happening here and around us? Facebook? News website? Something else?

Found a lot of expensive things today. These are not them lol

My husband and I went through a tiny bit of the "World's Longest Yard Sale" today. The US Route 127 spans 690 miles from Michigan to Alabama. I found an amazing fish shaped uranium glass mustard dish, but they wanted $350 for it. 🙃

The pieces I picked up were significantly less. $10 for the tumbler, $10 for the shot glass, $25 for the bird, and $5 for the teacup.

The shot glass and bird are new pieces from the Czech Republic. The tumbler is Hazel Atlas Moderntone from the 1930s and the teacup is Macbeth-Evans Cremax Bordette milk glass from the 1930s or 40s. That one was a surprise to me when I found it, as I didn't expect it to glow. There were several more, but alas, I can't afford them all.

My collection is growing

Antique/vintage/boutique stores have been a surprising source of several of these. They've been super fun to collect so far.

Brought home some more today

Google is proving mostly unhelpful at identifying these pieces, so please correct me if I am wrong:

First one is (I believe) an Imperial glass Pansy relish dish. I gave $8 for it.

Second one is Indiana Glass Tiara in Chantilly green. This one was also $8.

Number 3 gives me a different result every time I search it. I believe it's Indiana Glass cadmium, but it's also said selenium and uranium. 🤦‍♀️ It also can't decide between vase and candle holder. This one was $15.

Number 4 is definitely a Degenhart "sweetheart" shaped toothpick holder. That was the only one that was marked. It was the smallest piece and also the most expensive at $26.

Another Caturday at the Antique Shop

Went to two stores today. I brought home the green planter in pic 7. Bonus real shop cat at the end. 😸

Video of a female singing in French and playing accordion

I remember a video of a female singer playing accordion while singing in French. I remember the song being really nice, but I don't have any clue what it was about, since I don't speak French.

She's on a TV interview style show with multiple hosts and an audience and the audience can be seen behind her while she plays. There might also be other interviewees next to her, I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure they're sitting on stools.

I thought that it was on YouTube but searching for it is difficult without an artist or song title and scouring my watch history gives me nothing. I sadly (stupidly?) didn't save it anywhere.

Thanks for any help.

Edit to add: I'm fairly certain that it was recorded within the last decade.

Yesterday's Adoptees

This is the most I've gotten at once, but I had to have that Hazel Atlas container. I found one several weeks ago that I wanted but was disappointed at how badly damaged it was. This one only has a couple minor chips.

Paint on UG?

I bought this candlestick holder today and it has paint on it that I want to take it off if possible, but I also wanted to make sure it's not *supposed* to be there. Clearly I don't want to remove it if it's supposed to be there. It's kind of giving kid's art project, though. 😅 Does anyone have any idea?

Awesome Finds Today

The lamp was SO cool but I just couldn't spend $250 today. I brought home the bowl in the last picture. It's a Jenkins glass "Ocean Wave" pattern bowl, likely produced between 1929 and 1932.

Caturday finds with only an hour and a half until the store closed

I wanted the little flower basket one in the first pic, but it was broken 🥺

4 year old jumps off a cliff in a Bungee/Swing situation, is this AI or just super irresponsible parents?

This has to be AI, right? There are weight and height requirements for that kind of equipment for a reason.

Today's Finds

I left what's in the first two pictures for someone else, but the rest came home with me. 😊 Gotta love a 20% off sale.

Strange Left-Side Symptoms?

Hi, my "POTS" diagnosis is basically a cardiologist NP saying, "Yeah, you may have some form of POTS", but the symptoms sure be symptoming.

Especially this week. I seem to have gotten some kind of stomach bug or food poisoning. I was incredibly dizzy for a day or so (diagnosed BPPV), then had about a half a day of chills, then the rest of the day of sweats because I over compensated for the cold. Then I had awful burps followed by horrible diarrhea for a day. I didn't eat much because it upset my stomach and forced myself to drink what I could, but I'm probably slightly dehydrated.

I felt much better today, but now I've got a symptom that is concerning. The left side of my face, left arm, and left leg have been tingling/burning on and off for a few hours now. My tachycardia is also quite noticeable right now, even when at rest and I do have quite a bit of brain fog going on. I have read that this is potentially a symptom of POTS, but I wanted to ask actual people: is it normal? Or is this cause for alarm?

I did recently have a heart CT and a stress test and there was zero blockage or problems detected, but I am still a bit of an over worrier when it comes to medical things, being a cancer survivor and all. Still, I don't want to run to the ER unnecessarily AGAIN. 🙄
