One Velvet Antler, One Normal

Pictures aren't the best, but I've been seeing this guy around with one velvet antler and one normal. You can't really see in the photo, but at the base of the normal antler is a big thick nugget of velvet growing as well. I know injuries to their "huevos" can cause antler growth irregularities like button bucks, but I've never seen one retain the previous seasons antler for so long. Do you think it will just pop off randomly? Most sharing for fun, but curious if anyone has any thoughts or knowledge on the subject!

Petition to the mods

Posts that show people feeding deer should be against the rules and not platformed on this sub.

I assume everyone here loves deer, which is why we follow this sub. Most the people here know that feeding deer is detrimental to their health on an individual and population level. I recognize not everyone knows this and may feed deer without understanding the repercussions. That being said, allowing the constant stream of deer feeding post adds fuel to that fire, inspiring others to do the same and rewarding those who want to play snow white for fake internet points. As a community of deer lovers, we should be better and not promote content that hurt the animals we love. Many states also consider this to be illegal, and as deer populations continue to suffer from CWD, I believe more states will follow suit banning feeding. Wildlife should be enjoyed from a distance, as close to its natural state as possible.

If you doubt what I'm saying, know that it's not an opinion, its 100% a fact.

  • Feeding deer concentrates them on the landscape and spreads diseases like CWD and EHD.

  • It draws them to urban environments where they are hit by cars and culled by local management agencies as pests.

  • It makes them dependent on handouts, and whole herds can unlearn how to properly forage over time.

  • Deer are also browsers, which means they feed on shrubs and brushy plants and forbs. Corn, grain, apples and other things people feed deer are not a part of their natural diet and have harmful effects like rumen acidosis, which causes death.

This has all been scientifically studied, and there are plenty of resources available that back this.

Mods should really consider this, it'll make a better community and ultimately help the animals we love so much.

Here is an exhaustive list of different scientific resources that back what I'm saying in case anyone is still doubting.

Please

Don't

Feed

Deer

Ever

Its

Bad

No

Really

Its

Very

Harmful

Don't

Be

Selfish!

Edit: oh and if youre a hunter who baits, get gud. You'll be a much better outdoors person if you dont spend your days sitting around a corn feeder, not to mention you'll help increases the chance you and your grandkids will actually have deer to hunt in the future.

Lowes treats employees like shit

From the laughable pay, straight up disrespectful scheduling, to all the disgusting corporate feel-good family BS. This company makes nearly 500 million in profit every week, but cant be bothered to give people a living wage, or work life balance. Safety is put entirely on the shoulders of employees while unsafe equipment stays on the floor forever. Imagine if all the money they spent on AI slop posters, balloons for every break room in the country and producing a constant stream of nonsense training videos went directly into the pockets of the employees enriching Marvin and the bigwigs. I finally quit and I've never felt better. YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS DYSTOPIAN CORPORATE SHITHOLE. And if they have it their way, they WILL replace everyone with AI and robots as soon as its technologically possible, its already starting. Don't wait around to get canned, free yourself! Oh and to the corporate spies lurking here, show some class solidarity 🖕

Don't feed deer, ever!

If you love deer and wildlife, please for the love of all that is good, dont feed them! Your good intentions actively hurt deer in more ways than one, but do t just take my word for it, wildlife biologist unanimously agree that it is detrimental to the wellbeing of deer. Honestly, suggesting to feed deer should be a perma ban, but i dont make the rules here...

Froid welcomes home Roberto Orozco-Ramirez after federal judge orders release from immigration detention

So relieved to see this poor man finally able to return to his family and home. It's been truly amazing to see how the Froid community stood up and took action to help Roberto and his family. There are so many in the US going through similar situations who unfortunately dont have the same support Roberto has received and never receive justice. I'm so happy to see our strong montana communities doing what's right, and doing whatever it takes to help fellow Montanans ✊🏽

It finally happened

Weeks, nay months have passed since I took on this challenge. People scoffed, said it was impossible, but I was determined to see the inside of the private family bathroom. More times than I can recall was I struck with disappointment as I tried to open the handle and finally see the promised land inside, only to find it locked. I stand now basking in the light, no one farting or grunting within mere inches of me, free to get as naked as I need to in order to complete the task ahead. No watchful eyes here. Don't lose hope lads, you too could be this lucky one day.... if you believe.

The family bathroom? yeah right, thats permanently manned under a strict regiment of slacker employees. So I'm forced to go into the zoo, the regular bathroom... where I am constantly confronted by a chorus of crying anuses as they have (what sounds like) the worst day of their life. What is the average lowes customer eating? How about the employees? It seems like at any given time 20 people are shutting their brains out in the store and I'm sick of it.
