Am I overreacting for distancing myself from my mom over something that happened in middle school?

A few days ago, my mom and I got into an argument while we were on vacation, and she asked me why I didn’t like being around her so much. I told her it’s not that I don’t love her; it’s just that sometimes being around her can feel exhausting because of how overbearing she’s become, especially compared to how she barely acknowledged my problems when I was younger and instead focused on my brother, whom I love and have no ill feelings toward.
She asked me what I meant, and I told her she probably wouldn’t like me talking about it, but she assured me that I should share anyway. All of this was happening while my dad was driving and trying to ignore us.
I brought up how, in seventh grade, she saw the scars on my arms and asked if I had done them myself. When I replied, “I just fell down the stairs,” she didn’t investigate any further. Later that year, when things got really bad, I had to be the one to repeatedly ask my mom if I could try therapy.
I understand that I was the one who made up an excuse back then, but I feel like it was a horrible one, and she should have cared more about the cuts on her 12-year-old daughter’s arms that supposedly came from “falling down the stairs.”
I know it’s probably stupid of me to still hold on to that, but I can’t help feeling like it mattered.
It was a very big thing for me in terms of how I saw my mom and how I felt like she didn’t care enough to ask more questions when she initially suspected it was something deeper. She said my brother had never done anything like that, and she never had either, so how was she supposed to know to dig deeper? She said she didn’t even really know kids did that kind of thing until my therapist told her when I was in eighth grade.
That situation was even worse because, when she found out, she tried locking me in the bedroom with her and my dad, pulling my shirt up to see the scars, and asking if they were really that bad of parents that they had made me do that. I ended up running out of their room and locking myself inside my own.
I even remember her telling me not to tell my older brother, who’s three years older than me, because it might stress him out during his wrestling season.
It just feels like she takes no accountability for how much she disregarded my mental health growing up. Instead, she uses the excuse that she had never been around people like that before me, so how was she supposed to know?

Also for further context I’m currently a senior in high school

Am I overreacting for wanting to take out loans for college instead of having my parents pay due to an argument with my mom?

I’m currently in the college application process and have already applied to four schools, with three more to go. I’d like to say I’m pretty ahead, as many of my friends haven’t applied to any yet. Growing up, I was more organized, and now I’m much more of a procrastinator, I’ll admit. I had been putting off finishing an essay I had started for a law program/scholarship application at one of the schools I already applied to, and I had told my mom I’d get it done Sunday since I’m busy Friday and Saturday.
I was only scheduled to work one day this week, so I picked up a girl’s shift for Sunday, which was from 11 AM to 5 PM. My mom blew up when I told her, saying I’d never get it done and that I always find a way not to do it. I tried to explain that I’d still have time to finish it, and she started saying that, at this point, we’re never going to be able to afford for me to go to college. I literally picked up the shift so I could have more money.
Then she talks about how I don’t want it and how she thinks I’m smart but just lack the work ethic or drive to ever meet any of the goals I say I want to achieve. It’s like this constant lecture about how I’m just wasted potential at this point. I’m always the bad, ungrateful daughter.
I understand that I procrastinate and that she’s a very anxious person, but it’s actually so exhausting that, at this point, I might apply to the farthest university I can and just take out loans so they never have to worry about me again.

I know this is stupid, but situations like this happen daily in my house, and I’m so done with her constantly acting like I’m a burden when I feel like I’m a pretty high-achieving kid.

I’m grateful for them wanting to cover my college expenses, but if it means she’s going to constantly bring it up and rub it in my face anytime I do anything, I’d rather just work for it myself.

Is trump a conservative?

This sounds like a dumb question but as someone who’s taking an AP Gov class, I’ve been getting more interested in politics.

Now from the brief research I've done, I would label him more as a right-wing populist/nationalist

The biggest reason is his expansion of presidential power not really aligning with conservatism

He culturally and socially aligns himself a lot with it though

Really asking just to see if any politics nerds have a clear answer for this so I don’t say the wrong thing.

Ok guys I just wanted to know for a gov project thanks 😭

I hate how parental issues are treated

I hate how “daddy issues” are so sexualized. Like, people with them, especially girls, are portrayed as craving a bunch of validation from older men and being super hypersexual. People are very different based on what those issues involve, and making someone’s childhood trauma into basically a porn category is just kind of disgusting.
Then “mommy issues” are overlooked so much, which is crazy because a mother’s involvement in a child’s life is extremely important and can change the trajectory of how a person sees themselves for the rest of their life. Your mother is most likely placed in the role of the main caretaker or nurturer, and when that relationship isn’t secure, that’s going to really fuck someone up.
Yet it’s just glossed over so we can highlight “daddy issues” and profit off the sexualization of them.

Why do I feel like, during the Lindsay Clancy case, I saw it constantly on Reddit without looking for it, but with the Cornell 7, I have to search for it?

I see the Cornell 7 mentioned a lot on Instagram at least but have maybe only seen it once in the comments of a rage bait post on Reddit

Yet during the Lindsay Clancy case I constantly saw memes and opinions about it every time I opened the Reddit app.

I hate femboy tomboy jokes so much

They’re so overused. Also, most of it is just gooner humor. Not to be the fun police but this joke has only lasted this long cause it’s goon bait. Every single time I’m on Reddit, Instagram, honestly any social media platform at this point I see a femboy or tomboy joke. It’s not that funny. Like just kill me at this point I can’t take another one. It was kind of funny at first but this has lasted way too long.

17F, if you have something entertaining to talk about I’m all ears

I’m sick. I’m bored. I talk a lot. 👍

If you want to judge my Letterboxd, my top four are Lady Bird, Whiplash, Coraline, and Heathers (Not in order)

My MBTI is ENTP 5w4

Stressed out about college applications right now

I listen to a lot of stuff I don’t want to say everything cause I’m sure there is stuff I don’t like

A fun fact about me is that after being in a talking stage for a few months with a guy where we fell asleep on the phone every night I developed a dependency on needing a voice to fall asleep to and then got addicted to boyfriend ASMR.

I’m pretty open-minded, so I probably won’t judge you

Always hearing you sniffling and if you don’t want to sniffle then you breathe through your mouth and that’s just even more annoying and gross. Anyways yeah if you’re sick me too.
If you wanna hear me yap about random stuff DM me.
