What book should I read for general knowledge of history?

I'm 16 years old, and to be frank, history is my most hated subject, and I find it pretty hard to remember historical events, but many people nowdsys discuss it and I think it's important to have at least background knowledge of it, so I decided to read one.

I was recommended "A Little History of the World" but someone said the author is biased at narrating and left out alot of things, so I'm unsure.

Thank you in advance!

How does dao marks work?

I feel like I larped the whole 4th volume (I'm at the beginning of vol 5 chapter 1027) cuz why do I not understand how dao works??

What I understand:

Every path has their own respective dao marks, and the main reason you can't cultivate 2 different paths is because some dao conflict with each other, while there are some examples of non-confilcted dao marks, I don't remember them.

Same goes for blessing lands/grotto heavens.

And the more you have dao marks, the more powerful you're, but I don't understand to what extent they could make you so powerful. I feel like I felt this way because Fang yuan could gain a lot of dao marks from eat strength immortal gu, yet he heavily relied on immortal killer moves only with no noticeable differences except when he added another immortal gu.

Please enlighten me, seniors.

Why did OrSted say "I should've known you were an apostle of the mangod" atturning point 2?

I am already at volume 18 (peak cinema, so glad I judged myself and did not listen to the haters) yet I still don't know why he said that, tho TBF I only saw the anime version, I picked up the wn at vol 13.

I mean, Redeus atp should be someone he has never seen before in his loops, why should he have known he was an apostle? Is It precisely because he has never seen him, that he thinks he was a hidden pawn, and he should have realized that Rudy is an apostle the moment he was unaffected by his curse?

Reverend Insanity Print Project Update – Volume 1 Complete, Volume 2 Coming Soon

Hello again! I'm Stoned Monkey (formerly Stone Monkey—but I've made some... lifestyle changes. I'm kidding, of course; I just think it rolls off the tongue better this way).

Due to undergoing two minor surgeries, I wasn't able to provide any updates on the Reverend Insanity Print Project for a while. Thankfully, everything went well, and I'm finally back!

I'm happy to announce that the books have been printed, and the cover designs have finally been brought to life. The entirety of Volume 1 has been compiled into two print-ready hardcover books, complete with covers that I designed myself—without the use of any generative AI, if I may proudly add.

This project has been a labor of love from the very beginning, and it's incredibly satisfying to finally hold these books in my hands after months of typesetting, formatting, and design work.

Most importantly, this project is NOT over. Volume 1 may be complete, but this is only the beginning. I fully intend to continue working on the Reverend Insanity Print Project and plan to start work on the next volume as soon as possible. There is still a lot I want to do and improve going forward, and I'm excited to keep bringing future volumes to life.

A special shoutout to u/AzureTender for being the very first supporter of the project. Your support genuinely means a lot and has helped motivate me to keep working on it.

The files and covers for Volume 1 Part 1 have already been uploaded, with the second half planned to go live within the next few days.

As always, I'm more than happy to answer any questions about the project—whether it's the typesetting process, printing, the covers, or anything else you're curious about.

Thank you to everyone who's shown interest, offered feedback, and supported the project so far. More updates are coming soon!

What's with the hate on the manga?

I keep seeing ALOT of hate comments saying the most ridiculous stuff, such as the lore is so bad, the side characters are forgettable and are not developed properly (which is a crazy take, every character has their respective backstory, their goal, their own development, and has an actual personality)

Hating on it because everyone in the academy was discriminating Will (just speaks volumes they can't comprehend that in their world, magic is everything, and if you DON'T even have the talent, you're garbage and here our MC doesn't even have the finest bit of magic - what do they expect them to do, comfort him!?)

And the bad writing, the argument they bring up for this is the previous author's work (it was something like can you bring girls from the dungeon or smth, or say they say, I honestly don't know if this is even true) and how the author keeps edging the Will and Elafria reunion, which also speaks alot that they are either Larping to hate on a popular series, or they lack reading comprehension.

The second time he got rejected was from the tower, to begin with, no one actually objected to him, and even the boss of the tower said as long as Will brings results, he doesn't care and all the factions chose him after his test, however, that krutez guy decides to interrupt with a "logical" reason that If he can't produce magic, then there's no place for him I'm the main factions because they're solely reliant on it, and he might not have someone to lend him magic for his wis, which might seem forced but it actually makes sense, and the others don't defend him because they know that, AND they want him to grow, as we saw with Zeo.

And Krutez did that not because of discrimination, but because he wants to examinate him and his weird wis powers, which also makes sense given his personality and his whole lab thing.

I already explained the first time, and for the dark mage professor, he was simply worried that Will might be devastated when he gets rejected, although he was harsh about it, it's just his personality; like how we saw with him discriminating the dwarfs, but if need be, he was sincere in asking them for their help and even pushed his pride aside and bowed.

The lore is really interesting, very mysterious and promising if handled properly. the side characters are handled beautifully and are actually interestin, the main character is also interesting, and not like blushy or blunt or generic, and the romance between Elafria and Will are strictly shown and no matter what, they'll be with eachother so no harem or one sided shyt, and the academy ain't your avarge or generic one. (except the discrimination but that has got its reasons)

Did Jjk and MHA fans infiltrate our fandom and are now hating or what!!?

Just finished northern plains arc, and oh boy it was one hell of an arc, absolutely amazing.

Alot of ppl were hating on the arc being slow, dragging out the imperial war contest, and early stuff inside the blessed land, but I heavily disagree:

The start of the arc, where he was in grassland poisonous might have been slow, but surprisingly I enjoyed it, then it was the ge tribe iirc, and it was great but at the end of it, I was kinda bored but it wasn't to the degree that I wanted to hate on it, or even drop it. I simply stopped reading at a point I felt were great for a stopping point, then resumed after sometime.

Then we had... I think the imperial war contest where Fy allied with Hll, and tbh, I believe this was the hardest part of the volume, although it was really enjoyable, I didn't really like alot of the conflicts between the mid and... Ok I can't believe I forgot it but it was a category after mid, those 2 were boring to me, but when it came to the super tribes it started to pick up. (I didn't like them because most of the mentioned tribes were toddlers that held no importance later on, and I just didn't enjoy it much.)

Then the Blessed land, oh boy oh boy, it was FUCKING confusing, my brain really lacks reading comprehension, I had to reread countless times to understand as well as try to imagine what's happening - especially the strat of the giant sun will, alot of shit said there was mostly forgotten by me, or I didn't fully comprehend it, not to say this part was as boring as the start of the imperial contest, but it was just a mistake on my part, or perhaps it is actually confusing for some of y'all..? But either way, it was good, especially Tai Bai yuan sheng, I really like the man and I sympathise with him, also the same goes for the otherworldly girl, I'd probably have acted the same way if I were in her state.

And the sidestory between that heaven-defying luck guy and her was pretty interesting, although I was starting to get pissed off at his absurd luck in the finale battle, though it might be because I'm rooting for Fy so I might be biased.

Then the part that intrigued me the most and I liked - Mo yun the will, or wtv her name.

It was refreshing to see someone having a piece of mind (literally, pun intended) of Fy's devious thoughts and such,as well as making him stay on guard more, as if he wasn't already having a blade at his throat the whole arc- anyways and that INSANE plot twist, holy bro, Such a plot twist was NOT expected at all.

I was confused by Fang yuan actions a little, especially that time when the narrative Explicitly said that Fy, for the first time, went aganist his nature and did smth not profitable; but I didn't doubt him much, I thought he, for the first time couldn't suppress his battle urges, or he didn't want to do something that benefited that lucky guy because it'd be like he was influenced by the heaven defying luck gu, thus he decided against it.

Looking back, I guess it was irrational, also I was confused as to why mao yau was helping Fy and going to such extents, but I didn't suspect her much - this reveal was really a bombshell, lol.

Bro went toe to toe with a venerable will, under INSANE restrictions (although the same could be said for the will, you can't still defend it much since it's afterall a will from a venerable, and one of the oldest at that.) yet he still won WITHOUT SAC, truly, there's absolutely no desperate situation - relying on oneself is the strongest weapon!

Now, I shall go see the fan art illustratetions of the arc, then sleep.

Farewell~
