What music does he play for his Origin show?

I’m a huge early Kaskade fan, and while I think I will enjoy the show regardless, I’m really really hoping that because the name of the show is “origin,” the majority of the music he plays will be his old stuff.

Can anyone provide any insight on this? Seeing him this Friday in Miami.

The behavior of Red Rocks goers is cult-like.

Maybe I’M the weird one… but lining up 16 hours before a red rocks show, camping out in the middle of the night, just to get a more optimal spot at a show is really, really strange behavior - FOR ANY ARTIST.

I used to live in Denver and was a benefactor of the EDM scene there because… well, I love EDM… but you could not pay me to do this for even my favorite artist.

I saw an IG reel of a dude who had been camping out since 2AM the morning before say he was doing it because “the love and positivity of Griz just makes us show out for him!” No bro… you did that because you were afraid you were going to be standing on the edge of row 89 next to the drink tower lol…

Don’t be out here preaching “SLSL” when your immediate instinct once the gates open is to run as fast as you can to the center of the stands and lay out your pashminas to take up 8 spots for your friends who will come 7 hours later.

Seriously, enough with the hippie dippe fairytale you tell yourselves about how you’re a soldier in Griz’ army of light… when you stand outside of a merch booth for 9 hours to participate in yet another fast fashion event that adds more clothing waste to the earth. You bought a jersey for 20x the manufacturing price mass-produced in a Vietnamese sweatshop that employees children for $0.5/hr…

Like, I don’t mean to sound like a boomer at 28, but SERIOUSLY, don’t you people have jobs? Lol…

No shade to those who got there 4/5/6 hours early. Tailgating for Red Rocks can be fun when it’s within reason… but like, lining up 16 hours early for the event and 11 for a merch booth is straight up cult-like behavior.

I said what I said.

I created this massive Jinx mosaic from 6,048 1x1 dyed LEGO pieces!

https://imgur.com/a/I4I5EDL

This piece took me over 3 weeks to build. I use a propriety dying process I’ve been working on over the last 3 years to get the process down to a science. If you are interested in building this for yourself, shoot me a DM!

I built Jinx from 6,048 hand-dyed 1x1 LEGO pieces

This piece took me over 3 weeks to create. Believe it or not, each one of those pieces you see used to be solid white. I use a proprietary dyeing technique that I have perfected over the last 3 years to get the fine-detailed gradients. If you are interested in a kit to build this yourself, shoot me a DM!

I built JINX out of 6,048 custom-dyed 1x1 LEGOs pieces!

This took me over 3 weeks to do. Each piece you see was originally solid white! I use a proprietary chemical formula to dye the pieces to achieve a deep gradient that can’t be replicated with normal LEGO pieces! I am NOT trying to self promote, but if you are interested in this piece, just DM me!

[FINISHED] - Custom Diablo II mosaic made from 13,284 1x1 LEGO pieces!

I posted my progress working on this a while back, but I figured I’d show the final images now that it’s framed. This took me 1 month to build and then several more to acquire all of the custom framing materials. The decal is adhered to the backside of the plexiglass covering. Not trying to advertise, but this piece IS available if anyone is interested.

I have made some of the most highly upvoted posts criticizing Griz on this subreddit. I just saw him live and…

I had a blast! I saw him at Illfest, and it was truly one of my favorite sets of the weekend. Now, that doesn’t eliminate any previous criticism I have of Grant - but I think it’s very important to have gratitude and positivity accompany criticism.

While the new album isn’t glitch hop (it’s okay, it’s okay), I still think the songs are a lot of fun and I’ve really enjoyed jamming to them at the gym.

For all of my criticism of Griz, it cannot be understated that if you see him live, you’re gonna have a good time.

Mainly posting this to prove the haters wrong about people being constantly negative.

Tired of the fucking updates

Seriously, every fucking day there’s a new update. I use it at work, with a plethora of security preferences I have to enable/bypass for each and every update.

Long story short, the update to ‘Devin Desktop’ was a nightmare. Why can’t they just make up their mind with what they want? Seriously considering Cursor now.

Griz or Subtronics won’t even address this catastrophe. What a complete joke.

15+ hours in line and still not processed.

This is one of the most heinous logistical disasters I’ve ever seen for any event EVER. If this dude does not give reimbursements, he can consider my support gone.

This is absolutely insane. NO OTHER ARTIST I HAVE EVER SEEN AT THE GORGE HAS MADE US WAIT IN LINE THIS LONG.

This is ridiculous and the fact that you have Grant going on IG bragging about how big is EDC set was instead of addressing this just shows what kind of person he’s turned into.

Half baked music. Half baked merch. Half baked festival experiences. Bro does NOT care about his fans. SLSL from this guy is a joke.

Okay… why do we need a brand new, exclusive merch line for each and every show?

Bro has put out like 5 songs since his return, yet there’s been like 5 unique merch lines that have dropped…

And no, I’m not saying “merch items,” I’m saying MERCH LINES - like 10, 11, 12 unique items for each and every damn festival/show he puts on.

It would be one thing if it accompanied a lot of new music, but you’re not really beating the “selling out” allegations if you come back from hiatus, only drop like 5 truly original tunes, sell gorge tickets for $1000/pop, and then drop multiple merch lines with unbelievably poor quality materials/construction.

Cmon man… it’s just sad at this point.

EDIT: for all of the people saying “it’s a business” - you either started listening to Griz VERY recently or have a fundamental misunderstanding of what this dude used to preach.

He used to be one of the biggest protest artists in EDM. He would speak out against authoritarianism, runaway capitalism, police brutality, and everything in between. Now his tail is between his legs and the bags of cash are in his hands. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but the "FLIP" era of EDM is getting old, REALLY fast

For context, I just turned 28 years old and have been going to festivals since I was 20. I've been listening to EDM since I was like 12 (Glitch Mob/Kaskade/Skrillex).

Ever since late 2024-ish, there has been a distinct pivot in the EDM world to primarily produce flips of popular pop songs or pump out remix after remix of other artists' songs instead of creating majority new, ORIGINAL albums/sets.

I watched the Griz B2B Wolli yesterday because fuck it, why not, and boy oh boy, that statement has never been more personified than in that set.

I could complain about the fact that every dubstep artist today is literally only playing a handful of the top 10 artists' most popular songs right now, but what I really want to cry about is the fact that 50% of every g-d d-mn set is a f-ing flip.

Listen... I love rap and I love pop - I went to college when psychedelic rap was in its prime, but holy shit, can we please get back to trying to create something new and original as opposed to playing it safe and just adding bass to a pop song that was in the Billboard Top10 thirteen years ago?

I'm posting this in the Griz Subreddit because I feel like Grant has fallen down this hole the hardest out of any prominent artist, mainly just since his return.

Last night, that set was 50% flips. You can literally go on YouTube and count the number of songs that were remixes or flips of popular pop songs... It was damn near half of them. Almost zero new or unreleased music which, for a main stage EDCLV premiere, is disappointing.

No new original album (side quest was literally 80% flips), and the majority of his new music has been collabs with up and coming artists who have skyrocketed to success in less than two years. This is just my opinion, but it feels like he is trying to ride the coattails of upcoming talent like Levity (nice guys, all they make are flips) and TapeB (also a cool dude - primarily flips).

That's my rant - probably will be downvoted for this. Its not just Grant who's doing it, but it just seems like such a fall off when you compare his music now to his Mad Lib days - a proverbial treasure trove of original, groundbreaking sound and talent. This same rant goes for all other artists in the dubstep/bass scene right now (Clozee and GJones will always be the exception). For the love of god, can we please get some original music again.

tl;dr: I'm an aging raver who is so f-ing tired of flips and wants to see more diverse sounds and original music from the artists I once worshiped.

Im spending $12,000 worth of AI credits a month for my company…

I was tasked with completely automating testing for a huge product initiative for my company. They have given me a budget of $12,000/mo, thought I could realistically double that if they wanted me to and they would be okay with it.

Nonstop Opus running essentially 12 hours a day. I feel terrible… like I’m completely destroying the planet.
