And just for my sake, is there a way to lock the screen so I can put it in my pocket fearlessly? I tried all this with my miyoo mini and didn't like that I couldn't prevent the buttons from skipping etc.

Hello! Title says it all really. My GCVideo settings don't seem to let me force 480p. Any wisdom? do I have to open her up? Whats going on :(
It's the cheapo blue one. I get perfectly fine video out but CANNOT get native 480p.
Took a chance on this HDMI (or mini hdmi) adapter for my dol 001 after seeing some comments saying it is one of the few that is basically guaranteed not to have backfeed issues. I've seen a few comments about finding a remote for it. What benefits would a remote bring? Do i need it?
Hello, I just received in the mail my final parts to mod my cube. I've got the picoloader (solderless) from retroscaler and it came with the gc2sd reader for the memory card slot.
I want to install cubiboot and I'm getting a little overwhelmed trying to figure out which process i need to follow from the github page.

I have a soldering gun I have literally never used before. My washing machine has stopped working when we want any heat in the wash. After searching around, and changing the heating element, it seems like the issue is a bad solder joint?
In this picture are the two areas that look unusual compared to the rest.
The behavior of the machine is: when there's no temperature set for the wash, it runs fine. When there is temperature set, it runs for the first few minutes to fill up, starts to spin, then the screen flashes on and off repeatedly.
I was just wondering if I'm in fact in the right track - Gemini and reddit got me this far. And if I am on the right track, what do I do?

I'm one of those chumps who owns a 101 that I'm emotionally attached to (had to mow lawns and stuff to buy it at age 10 or so) and I'm getting ready to mod it with USB C and a picoloader.
But what I'm stuck on is the HDMI converter. Obviously the 101 has only analogue etc etc. So a simple HDMI converter is a bad idea. There are retro link options etc. But I just wanted to know... How much of a difference are we really talking about here without an upscaler?
I have a Wii U as well and I played some NGC games on that and couldn't really tell that much of a difference from when I played it on my Wii. I'm waiting on a new power cable for my NGC since I moved countries.
Is it really worth buying an 001 and making my 101 more of a shelf centerpiece type thing?
Recently plugged my USA GameCube into an Irish outlet using a standard plug adapter.
It popped really loudly and blew out a bunch of air from the PSU box and started crackling. GameCube wasn't on and didn't do anything, but was hooked up to the cable.
I've ordered a new power supply unit. I know I'm going to get some ire here but I found a reputable seller in the UK with a tested third party adapter. (We have the same plugs etc in Ireland as the UK)
What are the odds you think my NGC is okay? How hard is the USB c mod etc? Are those USB c to NGC cables any good? Has anyone tried a third party NGC adapter?

Tryna be self aware on this one lol. I was a huge music snob in high school but now most of my taste is normie as hell (I deserve this). Tryna reach out more and either try things I skipped (2010-2020) because i was a snob, or things similar to the taste I already have. Gonna try and cover a wide variety of genres in this.

Howdy, I have an OEM controller with some nostalgic value and a non OEM controller that seems to be basically identical and I'm willing to mess up. They were purchased in NYC and were unbranded and in near identical packaging to the original, possibly bootlegs. Snagged them for 15usd.
Just wondering if anyone has tried doing the 8bitdo mod on a non OEM controller. Thanks!
