Baby wyvern won't level up

He does the eating animation but doesn't do the glowing one that registers the fact that he ate.

I fed him multiple times each day and still, won't go past level 1, he doesn't even register the food, just keeps doing the eating animation endlessly.

Yes i used all types of meat
