Take a guy with 10 years on at a busy department with a progressive EMS program. Has all the certs, FF1&2, Hazmat Ops, ICS, DOA, Rope Tech, Confined Space Tech, Swiftwater Tech, Extrication, Red Card, Instructor, Fire Officer, and more with solid references. Are you high on the list? Do you need to get a medic or will EMT be enough?

One of our favorite co-workers is abandoning us. Going to PA school because she thinks she’s better than us. (She is.) We’re struggling to come up with a memorable, lasting farewell gift. Top idea was a personalized stethoscope, but she already got herself one. Other ideas are cold hard cash, or a personalized cup. But there are more creative minds here. This is someone we really care about and are going to badly miss, so we want to do something kinda nice. What are we missing?

Seems to be a lot of mixed opinions about Bangor in the sub. “Dystopian hellhole” to “nah it’s pretty nice.” If you moved from other areas, what’s your opinion? Where’d you come from? Why did you choose Bangor? Do you feel welcome? Bonus points for middle age family folk.

And or how hard it is to get hired from out of state.

Straight stick aerials. Are you allowed to fly a firefighter on the stick? Or do you have to place it and they climb?

On a straight stick does your department allow you to fly the stick with a firefighter at the tip? Or do you have to set up and have them climb?

My niece is turning 12 soon and I would like to get her a damn good book. She is a very intelligent, inquisitive, deep thinking kid. She was named best of her class this year, won multiple science awards, almost made nationals with a social studies project, she has a very high ceiling and I don’t think there’s a subject she doesn’t excel in. I don’t think she’s ready to appreciate Steinbeck quite yet. But I’d like to get her something more substantial than the standard pre-teen fare I see. Our family is concerned she’ll deal with some bullying in the coming years. She inherited her father’s build, and she could probably fold up 90% of the middle school boys and put them in her pocket. So I was thinking something with a strong female protagonist, fiction, but non fiction if you think it’s exciting enough to captivate a 12 year old. I read “A Woman of No Importance” last year and loved it, but I don’t see her getting the same enjoyment yet.

Just got a 25 Pro S 4. Ordered a booster seat for my youngest, but even with that she can’t really reach anything to hold onto. Not having much luck finding a quick solution. Was hoping to find something that attaches to the rear cross bar. Anybody find anything like that for their kids?

Hoping to buy a used travel trailer, but it seems there’s a million models and numbers and brands, but I have some specific desires.

TT only, no 5th wheel.
Master bed has door separation from main space
Decent enough for 4 seasons
Adequate storage/ capacity for family of 4 stuff
Decent shower size for a tall person
Hoping to stay under $20k

Weight is not a concern. Want to buy a brand that has a generally good reputation for build quality, but I am very capable of doing repairs myself. Any suggestions on brand/ models to look for?

Think I’m cooked but maybe someone can help. Unit kept shutting off playing Ragnorak. I had never cleaned it before, so I did a full disassemble and cleaning, down to pulling the heat sinks out. I may have made a mistake by going right into the cleaning after it had shut itself off, but not sure.

Cleaning went well, put it together, started up fine. Saw I didn’t have my games and just absentmindedly hit download while I went to cook dinner. Then I realized I should be able to reload them off my SSD. I went to Safe Mode and Repair Console Storage. It went through that, and I believe out of Safe Mode to a screen that showed I had downloaded Ragnorak. It gave me the option to continue start up, leaving Ragnorak on console storage, and delete it off the SSD because it can’t have both. Other option was to not delete and shut off PS5. I shut it off, removed the SSD, deleted Ragnorak off the console, reinstalled the SSD.

And now I can’t get it back. Nothing I do, Repair Console Storage, Clear Cache, Rebuild Database, remove and reinstall the SSD 10 times. It won’t read it. Super frustrated, hard to believe it was working fine one second and totally gone the next. It’s an MP600LPX if that matters.

Got myself into a place I shouldn’t have been. Burned up the clutch getting up a knarly hill. I ordered a set off Uncle Wangs, but it’s been a week and no shipping info yet. I also ordered some upgraded springs from Barnett. Dealer has no idea when they could get discs. Wanting to get this thing thrown together and get back on the trail asap. This is in US. Thanks
