Do you think people should/would spend time learning what they care about over doomscrolling?

I strongly believe doomscrolling is a disease and is wasting so much productive time of our generation. Do you guys find yourselves over there? Have you don’t something to over come it? And do you think people should redirect their scrolling time?

How do you learn things apart from career related stuff?

I’ve been stuck in this loop where I find something I want to learn but I never get to it. There are so many things I want to get better at but with my professional life I just never really spend time learning other things. Also I need to stop doom scrolling on social media.

How do you guys get to learning things apart from what you do for your job? Am I the only one?

What are your learning goals?

Hey I’ve been thinking about how I could spend my free time better and realised I should focus on things I’ve been wanting to learn. Some of them are: want to get better at managing a team of devs, know why and how religion came to be, and how to design better apps for consumers.

I’m just curious, what are your goals and how do you manage to spend time learning them in a busy life?

Any opinions and advice is highly encouraged

BrainFeed - Built for every hour I wasted doomscrolling

We all have short 3-5 minute spans of free time throughout the day that add up to about 3 hours. All of this time is wasted on Instagram or TikTok because it grabs your attention before you think twice.

BrainFeed aims to redirect that same idle energy into a feed that helps you make progress toward your learning goals.

Here's how it works:

  • Save for later, but actually read it: Whenever you stumble on a YouTube video or article you want to go through later, just share it to BrainFeed.
  • Custom dynamic feeds: Have a specific goal like "I want to get better at sales communication"? Just tell the BrainFeed chatbot.
  • Tackle your backlog: Upload those PDFs you’ve been meaning to review to BrainFeed

BrainFeed breaks it all down into a scrollable feed of bite-sized cards - ready for the next time you have a few minutes. Then, it makes sure you remember the information by making you play a game ("save your stars") around it over time.

The next time you're sitting on your toilet, open BrainFeed and consume your curiosity loops!

Completely Free now! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the microlearning angle, and what are some things you'd like to see in this app!

How much do I charge users

I’m currently running my app for free on TestFlight, and I eventually want to charge users for my app.

It’s an app that allows users to design their own feed through which they can scroll through in their idle time instead of doomscrolling, saving them hours of wasted time.

What’s a good amount to charge users? Monthly/yearly?

I want to personally onboard you to test my app which allows you to redirect doomscrolling

[I want to test how effective my app’s onboarding is]

We all have pockets of dead time throughout the day - waiting in line, commuting, lying in bed before sleep. Most of this is wasted on Instagram or TikTok.

BrainFeed aims to redirect that same idle energy into a feed that helps you make progress toward your learning goals.

Here's how it works:

Whenever you stumble on a YouTube video or article worth going deeper on, share it to BrainFeed. Have learning goals like "I want to get better at sales communication." Tell BrainFeed. The documents you've always wanted to review quickly. upload them to BrainFeed.

BrainFeed breaks it down into a scrollable feed of bite-sized cards - ready for the next time you have a few minutes. It then makes sure you remember the information by making you play a game around it over time.

Let's chat about social media scrolling and BrainFeed. Please use this Calendly link to find the best time for a 5-10 minute call: https://calendly.com/arnavlohiya121/30min

ALSOOO, building out a community of early users on Discord!!! We'll be sharing our latest updates here first: https://discord.gg/fcWJr3CD2U

Let's discuss what we can do about social media scrolling

I've been wanting to help people from the effects of mindless social media scrolling, and I would love to hear what people's opinions are about it. Did you ever feel the following: you hear a new idea while discussing something with someone, and really want to learn about it later, but the next time you have some free time, you end up scrolling through social media?

This happens with me more often than not. Is it the same with you guys?

3 hours of doomscrolling. 0 minutes of learning. Every single day. So I built this.

We all have the same pockets of free time throughout the day: waiting in line, commuting, taking a break at work, lying in bed before sleep. And we all do the same thing with them: mindlessly through social media.

Just because nothing better exists for that moment.

BrainFeed is built for exactly those moments. Not a dedicated study session. Not 20 minutes you have to carve out of your day. Just the 2-5 minute pockets of idle time you're already filling with mindless scrolling - redirected toward something that actually moves you forward.

Chat with the app to define what you want to understand, something like "I'm running a local business selling paint and I want to increase my profit", and it builds a personalized feed of knowledge cards around your background and goals. Swipe right on anything that catches you to go deeper.

No extra time required. Just a better destination for the time you're already spending.

Redirecting a fraction of your social media scrolling to this app will get you closer to your ideal self.

Spent hours doomscrolling every day but couldn't find 20 minutes to learn the things I actually cared about. So I built this.

I kept noticing the same contradiction in myself and everyone around me. Hours disappearing into a social media feed every single day - while the things we actually wanted to learn kept getting pushed to "later."

The time existed. It was just pointed at the wrong thing.

So I built BrainFeed, a scroll-based mobile learning app that redirects that idle time into personalized learning toward your goals.

How it works: Chat with the app to define what you want to understand — something like "I'm running a local business for selling paint, and I want to increase my profit." - and it builds a feed of knowledge cards around your background and ambitions. Swipe right on anything that catches you to go deeper.
