Can celiac be cured in our lifetime?
Dear celiac people, what do you think? Is there a hope? i'm praying it will work out!

Dear celiac people, what do you think? Is there a hope? i'm praying it will work out!
I just left the hospital with the worst news. You might think "worst" is an exagerate word, but this is how i feel right now. After my biopsy, which was 3 weeks ago, i was praying everyday to not have celiac but guess what, I have severe damage (stage 3b). My only symptoms were bloating and not being able to gain weight.
I feel like my life doesn't have any meaning anymore. Living with a constant fear of cross-contamination, restrictions, reading labels.... i'm not ready for this. I don't know if i can deal with that. Lately, i've been dealing with lot.. i'm 28 F and in the last 2 years i had two life-threatening emergencies when my intestine got twisted (sigmoid volvulus) and i was literally dying. Then i had a major surgery and they removed the part of my colon that was being twisted. I thought my life would finally become normal.. and then started constant bloating... i did lot of tests, my blood levels for celiac were slightly elevated, then the doctor suggested a biopsy and here we are.
I don't want this life and i don't know what to do. Can't stop crying. As well, i have health anxiety since my best friend, with whom i grow up, died from cancer 5 years ago. I feel so lost and alone and just wanted to share.
Sorry if my writing isn't grammatically correct, english is not my first language and i feel too weak to check it carefully.
Edit: guys, you are amazing! What a wonderful community i found here... i wish all of you the best of luck in life!
Hi, I have a flight with Qatar Airways from Barcelona to Doha to Tokyo. The thing is, I’ve never seen such a weird carry-on policy, and I’m confused.
After reading other posts here, I understood that the personal item should be a very small handbag, not a backpack. That’s okay.
My question is, I’m planning to take hand luggage, but their dimensions are crazy: 50 x 37 x 25 cm. I just can’t find any hand luggage that is under 55 cm. I’ve been searching on several websites, but I just can’t find it.
My hand luggage dimensions are 55 x 39 x 21 cm. I can buy new hand luggage that is smaller in depth and width, but it will still be the same 55cm length.
What do you guys think?
I understand the 7 kg policy, and I will make sure it weighs no more than 5–6 kg. I’m just worried about the dimensions. Should I buy new hand luggage? Will I have problems because of the luggage length?
I know this question has been asked a lot before but I have some specific preferences and would really appreciate advice. I’ll be in Tokyo in October/November and my budget is around $120–130 USD per night. What matters most to me is to stay in centrally located area with easy access to get around the city, but I’d also like the neighbourhood to be nice and pleasant, not just practical. I also prefer areas where things are still open in the evening and it doesn’t feel too quiet or shut down at night. I’ll be staying twice, 3 nights at the beginning of my trip and 3 nights at the end (4 full days), so I’d like to stay in two different neighbourhoods to experience different parts of Tokyo. Any suggestions for areas that balance good location, atmosphere, and convenience would be really helpful.
Also if u have any hotel recommendations feel free to share! Thanks
I’ve booked tickets for the end of October to Japan for our honeymoon. Can you tell me how I’ve planned the days and what you would change?
I don’t want to change hotels all the time, so I was thinking of using either Osaka or Kyoto as a base. Since Osaka is cheaper and has better nightlife, I decided to stay there and do day trips to Kyoto. However, as I said, I’m open to your opinions.
Day 1 – Tokyo
Day 2 – Tokyo
Day 3 – kawaguchiko (staying there 1 night)
Day 4 – visit fujiyoshida (chureito pagoda) and go back to Tokyo
Day 5 – Tokyo
Day 6 – Tokyo
Day 7 – Osaka
Day 8 – Kyoto day trip/ night in Osaka
Day 9 – Kyoto day trip/ night in Osaka
Day 10 – Nara day trip/ night in Osaka
Day 11 – Tokyo
Day 12 – Tokyo last day
I’m planning a trip to Yosemite (next year) and this will actually be my first visit to the USA, so I’d love to hear some advices.
- When is the best time of the year to visit?
-How many days would you recommend staying to see the main highlights?
- Where do people usually stay at night?
Hello, my boyfriend is German and I'm Spanish citizen. He is planning to move to Spain so we want to sign the documents (marriage) in Spain. There are several documents that he needs to present here and maybe you could help and tell us where should he ask for them.
Birth certificate
Historical certificate of residence ( in spanish it's certificado de empadronamiento historico) I'm not sure if i'm translating correctly though. It should state the last 2 years where the person has resided.
certificate of single status
It was written that documents need to be legalized or apostilled, and translated. However, when I called our town hall, they told me between the EU countries apostille is not needed as long as it is in Spanish. They also told me that his city hall should issue this documents in a multilingual version.
He already ordered birth certificate online, but he received an email it may take several weeks to get it ( I'm shocked about that, why does it need so much time?) anyways, where should he ask for other documents? And do they really give you in Spanish if you ask for it?
I know an Italian girl who married a Spanish guy and she told me she asked for everything in her town hall, and she asked to be translated, or multilingual version. She didn't pay for the translator. Does this happen in Germany? Maybe you have your own experience or you know about it.
Hi, what do you think about it? It's one of the few wet foods that my picky cat likes.
She weights 4 kg and in August she will be 2 years old.
When she is sitting you can't really notice but when she stands i find her too thin, idk.
Hi, It's been a long time since I've wanted to write this post but I didn't dare, so I'm writing now and please, be respectful even if you don't agree with what I say.
I'm from Eastern Europe (I don't want to specify the country) but I currently live in Spain and have a Spanish citizenship. Lately, I can't stop thinking about moving to the US. This idea itself inspires me and scares me at the same time. Eastern Europeans will understand me, that in our countries we grow up romanticizing American life. Something that many Western Europeans would not understand and I totally get it. Forgive me for generalizing and dividing countries by regions, but that's just my personal experience and it doesn't have to be 100% right.
I understand why would someone prefer to live in Europe. I truly and honestly understand. The slow life, especially in Spain, people enjoying life, less stress from work, beautiful weather, everything cheap.. yes, it has a loooot of advantages. Also one very big advantage, I would say, is the feeling of "security", which for me, mainly comes from our free healthcare. I also have a private insurance for which I pay 60 EUR a month and everything is free for me.
What attracts me to the US? The feeling that what I can achieve there in 5 years I can't do it here in 15 or more years. The feeling that you don't really get a good amount of money here for the work that you are doing. I know a person (my relative) who was quite poor in my country (not Spain), he moved to America and in just 5 years he bought a car and two apartments in my country and lives a very happy life. Also I think that the US is a beeeautiful country and I'm sure I will fall in love with it.
I also think that I don't necessarily need to stay there my whole life. But I can at least make it a part of my life journey and take the best out of it. My boyfriend, who currently lives in a cold North European grey country, wants to move to Spain😂 I understand that. But he is also open to make a bigger decision and change the continent. With his profession, I think he will be veeeery successful there.
What do u think, guys? is it worth it? The political situation might not be the best right now but it's not here either. I don't even want to talk about the economy, although it is cheap overall, the rent is really getting expensive and people can barely afford to move out with their low salaries. I don't know... i'm so confused... I really want to live my childhood American dream life, but I'm also scared to move out of this comfort zone. I also think if I were younger it would have been easier for me to make this decision, I'm in my late twenties now.
Hi, i'd appreciate if anyone can help me and suggest a recipe that would get me similar colors on my fujifilm x100vi. These particular pictures are taken with Leica and i'm obsessed with these vibrant, sharp and beautiful colors. All the recipes i've tried on my fuji are more soft and more yellow.
Thank you in advance!
