In June my cat started throwing up once a day most mornings (yellow bile, undigested dry food, hairballs) vet suspected IBD and currently using Cerenia. Acting normal otherwise. Last Cerenia was 11pm Wednesday, no vomiting since.

Yesterday my cat started having diarrhea (dark brown, soft serve pudding like) has passed 4 stools like this in 24hrs. Texted my vet this morning and followed her advice.

I did 100ML SQ fluids, 5mg prednisolone, floriflora, and 1/4 pumpkin puree. She’s been on MiraLAX but taking her off for now. I did all this around 8am this morning and she had her 5th loose/diarrhea stool around 12:30pm.

I love my vet and she’s been so accommodating especially since my other cat passed away May 28th from CKD - but I don’t want to keep bothering her. So maybe I can get help here since it’s 4th July weekend. I never know if I am overreacting or not.

Since I treated her this morning and she still had a loose stool is that worrisome or will it take awhile for the medications and therapies to work?

At what point is an emergency visit warranted?

I have two 14yr old cats, one which I had to put to sleep four weeks ago to aggressive CKD. He went from healthy one day to stage 4. I hospitalized him and he stabilized for 6 weeks before he crashed again. It’s been a horrible few months and I am trying to do everything right with my remaining cat.

She’s had a blood test and two urinalysis’s in the last 6 weeks and everything looked good. I decided to give her Solensia starting May 11th and she had her 2nd shot around June 10th. 1st injection seemed fine and I didn’t notice anything but have been seeing more side effects with the second injection.

A raw abrasion on her back

Muscle tremors/spasms/twitching/shakes in the face

Twitching/spasms when I touch her back and excessive grooming

She has also been puking once daily for about 4 days on and maybe 2 off (she’s on Cerenia now) Vet thinks she could have IBD and that may be true, but it started in the beginning of June and it’s not something I’ve ever witnessed in 14yrs with her. Her sibling died so maybe stress (she’s not outwardly showing many signs of typical grieving though). So not sure if this one is related to Solensia per say.

Anyway, I am very pro science and certainly not the conspiracy theorist or anti vaxxer type. I also don’t want to take away the good experiences some cats have had with Solensia but I won’t be giving my cat another injection. I hope these symptoms wear off in time. It’s very scary - I just wanted to share my cat’s experience with Solensia incase any of you are thinking about getting it for your cat. At least for informed consent.

I am taking her to the vet tomorrow and Monday so maybe I will post an update if anyone is interested.

I have a 2010 - 2012 Android that I want to get pictures downloaded from. I’m not tech savvy and worried about doing it myself since I’m not sure how. Are there any shops in town that provide services like this? Or any individuals that could help me with this?

I picked up my cats ashes today and I started reading online about how there is communal and private. I also read people get a certificate and a metal plate for ID is mixed in with the ashes.

I’ve never cremated a pet before and everything happened so fast and I was emotional. I didn’t know about these things. My vet did the at home euthanasia and took my cat afterwards, I do trust her. But I didn’t recieve fur clippings, no certificate, and no plate in the ashes. Now I am devastated thinking the ashes might not be his.
