I don't know what to do anymore, possible fecal impaction???

For the last two and a half months I've been severly constipated. At first it was three weeks, then even with lactulose that I took everyday I only was able to get relief once a week after taking dulcolast. Then it was once every week with dulcolast and lactulose, almost always with a watery consistency. Last week dulcolast left me feelint so lightheaded and worked after 20 hours which is crazy. This week I've tried micro enemas, like thrice. They didn't work at all so I tried water enema twice, one day and then the other. Then I also took dulcolast but only managed to get a small amount of watery stool out. I think I convinced myself that I have fecal impaction, bu5 it might be just anxiety speaking. But literally nothing is working and for the past weeks I was able to get so little out. I'm not in the US. Oh for the past week I also took xenna, so macrogols. Again no help. I've been to a family doctor but literally it was all they said, the enemas and macrogols. I don't know what to do anymore because none of the home methods actually work. Has anyone experienced similar stuff? If yes please explain what has helped you, I don't want to go to the hospital for such a thing but I don't know what else would help.

Constipation issues

I'm not sure if I have ARFID but basically this is all anxiety and OCD related. Later my anxiety also started to revolve too much about food and I think I fit the fear of aversive concequences with a bit of sensory based avoidance?

Due to my horrible diet I have a slight imbalance with FT3 but nothing too crazy, at least according to a family doctor I went to. I didn't mention any food issues or whatever but mentioned unintentional weight loss over the last year which was around 14 kgs.

Right now for slightly bit than a month I'm unable to have any bowel movement. When it first happened I was constipated for three weeks straight and it made my anxiety around food even worse. Since I felt so bloated and nauseous. The family doctor when I went to her for the first time said to take some lactulose every morning so I did it. When I hit the third week I took dulcobis, so a laxative stimulant and finally I was able to feel comfortable.

I did this a few more times. Every day lactulose with dulcobis to move stuff along at the end of the week. I need to do this weekend too. My bowels just don't move and I'm so ashamed. I did this to myself due to my anxiety around food and I just feel so stupid. I wish I was normal.

Did anyone had such problems? How the hell can I resolve this first without changing anything in my diet? I mean, I'd love to have a normal relationship with food. More than anything else. But I don't think I'm able to do this right now when I feel pretty bad with my anxiety already. I wonder if going to a psychiatrist and getting some meds to manage my OCD would help. Maybe a gastroenterologist? Still, to go to them I'd have to get referral from a family doctor first.

I think it's due to my shitty diet that resolves mostly around carbs and a few dairy products. Probably my hormones could be a problem too since I've read that FT3 is the main thing that controls the bowel movement. I just feel so shitty. I quite literally have to build my week around one day when I use that laxative. It's such a burden. I'm such a burden to anyone and I'm not sure how to help myself. I'm 18F if that matters.

Is any food really better than no food?

Is it really better to just eat what I feel like I'm able to in such quantities that are okay and won't make me lose even more weight. Or maybe should I really focus on nutrition and just like eating what would be a 'better' option? I don't think I'd be able to force so many 'healthy' foods into me right now. But recently all I can manage are a few foods high in carbohydrates, some cheese, protein bars and some smoked tuna. Mostly. I can force to myself to eat enough calories while eating them, everything is just repulsing to me. And either do that or eat way less calories and lose even more weight, which I don't want to.

Late teen/adult ARFID onset, mind sharing your story?

Maybe someone with ARFID that had an onset later in their life would like sharing their story? I did started to develop some disordered eating in the recent years and I'm struggling due to it. I have no idea how to seek help or even if I fit ARFID category. And the fact that I ate almost everything as a child and those issues didn't start since I was young make me feel invalidated, whether it's this eating disorder or just something else. I just want to hear your stories guys.

Substitute for magnesium citrate/milk of magnesia

I'm desperate for some relief for constipation that will soon reach three week mark with almost no urgency and just small peebles. With no pain, just uncomfortable fullness, or other symptoms. I've read on this subreddit that magnesium citrate or milk of magnesia is usually a thing that could work fast and help me with stubborn, hard stool. But both of those are not sold in liquid form anywhere in my country. I started taking lactulose as perscibed by a GP, 15 ml in the morning, just yesterday. But I was thinking of trying to help it with something stronger. Are there any substitutes for these two? Stimulants or suppositories haven't worked before when I used them.

Constipation lasting over two weeks

My diet has changed in the recent year quite a lot due to some irrational fears I have, they're mostly around eating. I do consume enough, or at least I thought so because in the last year I've lost more than 22 lbs or 10 kgs. I've recently lost my period and my family have mentioned that I started losing much more hair than I used to. So I might have some deficiencies.

Back to two weeks ago I had gone to bathroom everyday in the morning, around 2-3 hours after eating a breakfast packed with around 10-14g of fibre and drinking around 700ml. It stopped suddenly so I didn't think much of it. I do consume a bit more fibre later in the day and drink around 1.6 l.

Back to a week ago I had took one dulcolax which always gave me cramps and instant relief. Didn't work. For the last week I was away from home so I tried to take two more doses of dulcolax pills with no effect at all. I also used a dulcolax suppository which has given me really little bowel movement, barely any.

I'm unsure of what the hell should I do, I tried every method that has worked in the past. I don't want to abuse dulcolax anymore with no results. Should I go to a GP? Or maybe somewhere else? Or will any other over the counter meds help me?

Also I just want to mention I once took miralax for a week and a half but I don't want to take it anymore, gave me bad nausea that started around the fifth day of taking it.

I want to get rid of this issue fast since I have another week away from home scheduled in a week. I'm thinking about going to a GP with this tomorrow too.

Hearing stories about other's getting sick

Hey, so I'm just going to tell you one story, but this has been a continuous cycle for me. My friend's grandma has went to a senatorium and they've been talking to me about how she is feeling right now. About how the food there made her feel sick, about how she got admitted to the hospital and her unsuccesful yet recovery. She has been telling me too many details and I feel so anxious hearing about this. I know I should probably listen to eat to exposure myself to what I fear. But also due to this story and other similar ones the amount of foods I eat has been decreasing. For example I hear someone got sick after eating something and I stop eating it entirely, even if the food wasn't at fault there.

I feel so childish, I put my hands over my ears a few times in a situation like this to block the noise and not hear such stories. But maybe they're important for me to get better? I just want your opinion on this. Beacouse I don't want to spiral in this and the amount of safe foods I curently have is so narrowed, but also I know I should exposure myself to what I fear.

Also I'm not diagnosed with emetophobia and I'm unsure if I'm welcome on this subreddit. Though my experience matches so much of what people with this phobia are going through.

Telling others not to mention sickness around me?

My eating habits changed dramatically and I suspect I have arfid or at least some disordered eating. It is mostly connected with me getting paranoid about how I feel after eating, how it sits in my stomach and sickness overall. Recently more and more is just repulsant to me and I try to manage it but it's so hard. My friend has told me about her grandma falling sick after one trip and also about herself getting sick in childhood after eating specific food. We were in a grocery store in that moment and I was about to choose that thing, but felt anxious and repulsed after she had told me. I ended up not buying it.

My question is, should I tell her not to discuss sickness around me? She also once asked me if I have a gag reflex if I hear someone has it or gets sick, she mimicked it and it made me uncomfortable. I don't want to tell her the whole story just this. But also isn't kind of exposure better for me? Still this exposure gave me more bad than good.

I hate eating, it feels like a chore now

I hate that socializing revolves so much around food. I never was a fan of it or understood it too much. But I've started to have big issues around food that stopped me from enjoying eating out with my friends, travelling or eating with anyone to that. I have developed strict rules and rituals around food. A lot of it also comes to the fact that in the recent year I stopped enjoying a lot of food, despite being a person that ate almost everything throughout my whole life. It started after getting sick one time in public. Then got worse after two more times I got sick at home. Those situations seem really small compared to how much they affected my relationship with eating and food. I've also lost most of my interest in food and eat a very strict diet that resolves around my safe foods. I only feel the need to eat, or my acid reflux flares up and makes me feel even worse.

I needed to get this off my chest. I fear that if I had shared this with my best friend, that they'd start walking on eggshells around me. Or that they wouldn't take my struggles seriously since I always ate what they didn't want, I was a trash for unwanted food.

I don't want to lose weight, it's just happening. I like my body, I hate eating now.

How can traits/struggles become more prominent with age?

What does it mean that autistic traits/struggles become more prominent with age? I've read that it is beacouse said person's capabilities are not fit enough for the demand. But like they are present throughout the said person's life before the demand is too big. Why do they suddenly become so prominent or have significant impact on the person's life? I just need someone to explain this one to me, can't seem to grasp my head around this.

Does this sound like a developing arfid or food troubles due to other mental health issues?

Hey. I'd like advice or just your insight on what my situation is. I'm not diagnosed with ARFID or any eating disorder. But I'm soon to attend my first psychologist appointment. I've never received any mental health, and I'm unsure of what I should mention to the psychologist. Though I do suspect I show signs of autism and compulsion like behaviours, like in OCD.

As a child I don't think I was really particular about my food. I was just a kid and ate mostly everything I was given. I never was particularly picky, and was praised for eating "well". As I got older my autonomy about what I eat obviously grew, and I stopped eating certain food due to them disgusting me. But I still felt the pressure to eat everything and well in front of others, in order not to be judged for it. For most of my life I was considered by myself, my friends and family that I am some sort of "trash bin" for food that others won't eat. At least with my friends who has always been more particular about their food choices.

Though recently, I've had few situations in which I got sick. First time it was after eating out, I was forced to walk back to the place I stayed in while I felt bad and ended up getting sick on a stop bus. I don't think it affected me THAT badly at that time. For the rest of the trip I just started eating mostly store bought, packaged food and pretzels from one bakery that I knew were "safe". After I came back it seemed fine. I seemed fine.

But after maybe one or two months I also drank alcohol for a few days, it wasn't much. The first night was just a beer or two, the second day was indulgent but the third one I just took a few sips of wine. I also was out at the time I started to feel bad, when I came home I remember sleeping and waking up getting sick or nearly doing it. A similar thing happened for the third time.

Since the first situation happened I started to resolve to food I knew were "safe" in my eyes. The same stuff and all. I've done it for my entire life. I like eating the same things everyday, but it has become to the point of making me distressed if my routine is changed. A lot of food started repulsing me due to the texture that reminded me of feeling bad, most savory things, meets. I never was a fan of meet, but I liked chicken. Now the texture, smell and just the whole way of eating me is repulsive to me. I can't stand it. The same happened to sweets. For most of my life I preferred the sugar free options like protein bars due to the way the taste, the chewy texture etc. But right now I stopped eating most fruits, sweets and everything similar due to the sickening aftertaste. I also was much more prone to trying out new foods then I am now, I'm scared of it and just kind of not interested in nothing new as much as I used to be.

I have lost a lot of interest in food, which made me have some troubles with acid reflux. It makes me not want to eat even more, but I have to stomach something or it's 10 times worse. I still have foods I like to eat, a few foods I'd consider my safe foods. I do eat some other stuff, but if I know it's considered "safe" in my mind. I started to focus on the way food feels in my stomach too much, which made me stop eating like 90% of food I used to eat. I also restricted my water intake due to it, and I struggle to keep up with drinking enough especially in the heat right now. I feel repulsed by many foods I considered normal, safe for me.

I genuinely am afraid of eating out, it's making me paranoid. I assume this might’ve been more appropriate to post on a sub that is about OCD strictly. I just am curious if such a small inconvenience could have such a big impact on my life and eating. I'm an older teen, an adult in theory. And I just am not sure if this is a thing that psychologist appointments could help me with, or maybe nutritionist? I do noticed some changes in my body due to my ruined eating habits, but it's not YET so alarming. Can OCD like compulsions develop into ARFID? Or maybe OCD alone is the solely culprit of all of this?

Id'd love to hear stories of people with similar issue and I apologise if this post is poorly written. I'd apprecieate any response and help, really. Also I'm not sure if I should've posted it in any other sub, if anyone can help, please do so.
