High protein cereal

Might not be the lowest in calories but for no sugar and 18g of protein for 170 calories, not bad at all. And i had a bowl this morning, surprisingly really good.
I did two servings of each which came out to
400kcal
38g P
28g C
20.9g F

I (18M) wrote a note to my Dad (44M). Would it be appropriate to give on father’s day?

Basically i just want to know if this note i wrote to my dad would be good to give him on father’s day or not. And any advice on if i should change anything?

“Dear dad,
This is the only letter i can remember writing to you. Maybe when i was younger for a school assignment, or maybe when im older. I’ve seen a lot of things in the short amount of time that my mind has been able to make memories. I’ve seen lots of families, lots of relationships, lots of people and places. But i haven’t seen my connection with you like i wished it would be when i was a kid. When i was little i looked up to you so much, and i wanted you to be proud of me as your son. I don’t know where it changed, or what happened to cause a shift. But i struggle to feel how that little boy felt. I see pictures of him and think to myself how lucky i was to have a father like you. And now i feel the selfish weight of my feelings crush that connection. No matter what ups and downs we had in the past, i want you to know that it’s okay. I don’t know where i’ll go in the future or where we’ll stand in years to come. But what I want is for you to be happy. Be happy for yourself and for what you’ve achieved in your life. I will always be your son as you will always be my dad, and that will never change. I know i don’t say it much or really at all anymore. But i love you. Thank you for all that you’ve given and continue to give me. “

AITAH for yelling at an old woman?

I know, sounds crazy. Let me explain.

The other night i was shopping for some last minute dinner items at walmart because i had just gotten off work and had a tiny bit of time before they closed.

Keep in mind, the store closed in 30 minutes at the time this happened. I’m loading my car up and when i finished, i notice that the carts were all piled in a few lines near the walkway in between the handicap parking spots. The workers decide to pile all the carts up at night and bring them in before close (idk if that’s just how they do it or if it’s cause they don’t want to in the sun, idk)

Anyways, instead of walking the cart out further to where they’d have to get it, i decided to just put my cart in that pile. I then hear a woman yell something at me and i turn around and say “what?”

She is a few car lengths away so we’re talking loudly. She says “Do you have any idea that’s where the wheelchairs are supposed to go?” I say back, “Yes mam, the employees are collecting them right now so i just wanted to help them out” She then raises her voice to begin yelling and shouts at me, “No no no, they need that space so they…” I cut her off and just say, “Go tell them that, not me. They’re the ones putting the carts here.”

She keeps yelling something and i just turn around and get in my car and leave. Maybe i was out of line for not letting her understand but i deal with customers like that all the time and they do not ever get the point, they have convinced themselves that they can never be in the wrong and considering im not at work. I just decided to leave it and not deal with it.

So, AITAH?

Doordash has ruined Take Out.

I can’t speak for fast food cause i’ve never worked it, but i’ve heard that it’s a nightmare for them as well.

I am a TakeAway server for a chain restaurant, i live in a pretty rural area and my restaurant is the only steakhouse in the city. We did over 7million in annual sales last year so you can imagine what the daily crowd looks like.

The TakeAway staff of our restaurant is paid differently than the rest of FOH. We make ¢62 more than everyone’s else and have our own separate tip pool. Then comes the downside. We get paid NOTHING for 3rd party orders, meaning doordash, uber, grub hub, instacart, postmates, and even our own delivery system that just attaches doordash drivers.

While this may not seem that bad, we are the ONLY steakhouse in the city, and it’s a chain restaurant so it’s somewhat affordable compared to other restaurants. I used to make decent money, $80-$120 in tips a shift, but since this past year, doordash has slowly made my job so much harder.

Not only am i working for no tip on all those orders, but doordash itself is a nightmare. Terrible customer service, half the drivers are either trying to steal the order or are the most difficult person to interact with. While yes, we do have dashers that often pick up orders from us, there’s not a single shift that goes by where i’m either trying to save an order from being stolen, or having an argument with a driver.

I’ve had drivers threaten me, yell, argue, and even physically attack my coworkers. Overall, it’s made my job so much harder and makes it to where i make less money.

Just wanted to rant and possibly hear others opinions on this. Thanks for reading!

Walmart Delivery Service, Possible Scam?

Okay so for context I live in the US (florida area for context) I work at a restaurant and have a woman that is a regular. She talks about a delivery service that she runs and gets regular people to deliver said packages. They run Friday-Monday. They have Morning and evening routes.

From what she’s explained, one route is $150, two is $300. You use a company vehicle (van) to go to walmart, a worker loads it with packages, and you use an app to deliver the packages. She said that everything is paid cash under the table but she can tax it if it’s an issue.

I’ve been texting with her back and forth and she said that she has this service with 19 walmart locations. I don’t know if there is any company name or how it’s not illegal to pay unofficial employees like that. I sent her a message asking all those questions and am waiting on a reply.

She said the company vehicles are stationed at her house and she tops off the gas tank every morning, when done with your routes you return to her house with that vehicle and leave.

The main part i’m suspicious about is the fact that she is a regular at this restaurant and seems like a trustworthy person. So far the only info she’s asked me for is my name, number, and email. And she said the only info she’ll need in person is proof of a valid drivers license.

She seems genuine and talks like a real person would talk to you about this kind of thing so i’m just wanting opinions on this. Thank you

Sold all my AMZN stock to start day trading. Any advice?

A few months ago i put 8k into stocks and wanted to just let it sit, after thinking for a while and doing some research, that’s just not for me anymore. I have around 4.7k in stocks that i will keep there for a long time for it to just be an investment. However i had 4.2k in AMZN that i decided to sell so that i can have some money to start day trading. I understand the e risk in doing this, i’ve already gone though the process that loosing the money is a big possibility. So i was just wondering if there’s any advice that i should know. Thanks!

(Florida)

Well this is probably the millionth post like this you’ve seen but i’m not sure where else to go. I’m about to turn 19 and have no idea where to go. (Yes ik i’m young and have a lot of time to figure it out) My dad gave me a time frame of 1 year after high school to go into college, well it’s been a year and i still don’t know what to do. I work at a restaurant where i average about $21-$25 an hour. I have pretty much no interest in anything besides music, (I write my own songs and perform locally) and while yes i can try to pursue music, it is best to have a plan first and then do that on the side in hopes that it takes off.

I have really bad diagnosed scoliosis so the military and most heavy lifting trades are already a no. The college i have in my area is pretty bad, everyone i know personally has dropped out from lack of education, and the online reviews are terrible. I do have a pretty good trade school in my area that specializes in Aviation and Electrical. my brother just graduated from his Aviation/power plant course and is certified, just waiting on a job now. He recommends that i go into that but i am not at all interested in engineering work/electrical work on any kinds of vehicles.

Radiology and Physical Therapy had mildly interested me for a bit, they both pay well and sound like decent jobs to do. But the courses themselves are very in depth and demanding. Given that my college here is known for the professors having no communication and bad teachings, i feel that i’d be left to teach myself these courses with youtube and stuff and that actually sounds like a nightmare.

Sorry for the long rant but yeah main point was that i’m really not sure what to do for a career and i really want to be able to at least enjoy my work a little bit. Feel free to ask any questions and i am open to any advice. Thank you
