For those unaware, the Macdonald triad (also known as the triad of sociopathy) is a set of three criteria, the presence of any two of which is considered indicative of violent tendencies and/or sociopathy. The three criteria are bedwetting past the age of five, purposefully setting fires, and cruelty to animals. While these three behaviors are sometimes indicative of other problems (neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, behavioral problems, and yes, sometimes sociopathy), the Macdonald triad itself is false.
Following a discussion about helms in Canadian heraldry yesterday, I sent an email to the Canadian Heraldic Authority about whether their unconventional helmets are included in the grant. The first slide is their response. The second slide is the query I sent to them, included for posterity's sake.
