WIBTA for reporting a colleague for potential harassment?

I say potential harassment because I'm not actually sure if I'm being harassed or not.

There is an older male colleague at my work. I'm female. We don't work directly together in the same departments but occasionally need to interactive and have work related conversations.

I'm always rushed off my feet at work so I prefer email conversations. He seems to have all the time in the world and prefers to meet in person. Every time I send him an email he responds with, "come and talk to me about it in person". Even when I send him simple questions that only require a yes or no answer.

I used to not think anything of it and would go and talk in person. But, he'd insist I come in and shut the door and I'd end up trapped in a conversation with him. He talks a lot and it's hard to find a break to politely leave. The conversation rarely stays professional and he just talks about himself and brags about his personal accomplishments. It also felt a bit like he was trying to flirt with me.

So, I started only standing in the door way whenever he wanted to speak with me, saying "I'm in a rush, I don't have time to sit down". But he was still really pushy.

These days, I only email and ignore his request to come see him but he is still so pushy. Every single email he sends me ends with "come by my office to talk about it".

The most recent thing, that made me certain he's just trying to get me alone was we were part of an email conversation thread with about 5 people. I was the least important/relevant person in the thread and he singled me out specifically to come see him. He replied to everyone, "AriasK, why don't you come see me in my office and we can talk about this in person?". It made absolutely no sense to single me out like that.

However, I still don't fully know if it's compliant worthy. He might genuinely just prefer to talk about things in person.

People saying "that's highly illegal" about things that are only a little bit illegal.

My mother and sister use this one a lot. I remember telling them one time about how I didn't get a break at work one day. Their response, "that's HIGHLY illegal!". People always say it about small, insignificant things that are probably grey areas of the law anyway. It's never about things like mass murder or terrorism. You know, things that are actually HIGHLY illegal.

I'm giving up hope for the future

Today, in my senior class, we read a short story from the bible. I don't teach at a Christian school and it wasn't for the purpose of studying religion. It was relevant because another text we are about to study is based on this particular bible story.

I won't say what it is because it might make me identifiable. But, it was a well known, simple, short story from the bible that teaches a clear and direct moral/message.

This story is the inspiration for lots of other stories and media.

I really want to emphasise how short and straightforward the story is. More simple than a children's fairy tale. Only a few sentences long. The version I used was translated into clear, simple, modern say English. There was no old fashioned language. It was not difficult to understand.

First, I handed it out for them to read on their own. They read it and I heard a bunch of kids going, "huh? I don't understand it". So, I read it aloud to them while they followed along with their eyes. They still didn't understand. I reworded it for them about three times. I still had students who didn't understand. I had to explain parts of the story. I had to explain who the characters were in relation to each other (even though it was very plainly written). I probably spent 30 minutes explaining and clarifying this story that only took about 30 seconds to read aloud.

I then asked them what they thought the moral of the story was. Again, it's VERY clear and obvious. The story was written to intentionally convey this moral. It's blunt and straightforward. It's so unbelievably obvious what the moral is. It's like asking "what is the moral in the boy who cried wolf?".

They couldn't get it. They had absolutely no idea. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get a correct answer out of them. I got a mixture of random plot points from the story we had just read and morals from other stories that had nothing to do with this one.

Just to reiterate, this was a senior class.

Stupid Song by Olivia Rodrigo

I'm probably a bit late to the party on this one but I only heard this song for the first time about a week ago. Wow. No other words to describe. Just wow. I can't get over how good this song is. I can't stop listening to it. It's constantly in my head. I just want to listen to it all the time. I'm thinking about it all the time. I do tend to hyper fixate on things (ADHD) but usually I listen to a song on repeat for a day or two and I'm over it. But this one is different. It's hitting different. It's longer lasting.

I'm curious who else has had a similar reaction? I see lots of comments on her music video about how amazing the song is but that could be people that are already die hard fans. I want to know if the majority of people who hear the song love it or have an intense reaction towards it?

I'm predicting it's going to be one of those songs that stands the test of time and becomes known as an all time great. I'm putting it in the same category as Mr Brightside because it's making me feel a similar way that song did when I first heard it. There was something so beautiful and addictive about that guitar riff (from Mr Brightside). That song encompassed a very specific feeling of longing and jealousy so accurately and perfectly. For anyone who's ever been in that situation, the lyrics were a window into your soul. You knew someone in the Killers had been through those exact emotions and put it perfectly into words in a way only a complete genius could. I feel like Olivia Rodrigo has done the exact same thing here. Absolutely genius. She's managed to take a specific feeling of an intense crush and convey it through music and lyrics. Hearing it takes you right back to being a teenager and feeling your emotions so intensely.

The way the song builds in both tempo and pitch. I just can't get enough of that chorus.

Who else feels the same way?

Will I enjoy Hong Kong after Tokyo?

Last year my family and I went to Tokyo. We did a day at Disneyland and a day at Disney Sea. Our first time visiting a park because they're literally all on the other side of the world for us. We absolutely loved every second of it. Disney Sea was the single most amazing man made thing I've ever seen.

My fiancé and I are getting married soon and, since we want to bring his kids on our honeymoon, we are thinking of going to Hong Kong Disneyland. It's the closest one to where we live and will be the cheapest option for us.

But, I'm worried that I've been spoilt by Tokyo, namely Sea.

Will Hong Kong still be amazing?

Why don't children feature as much as they used to?

I watched the show as a kid. I'm the same age as Sarah. I remember Sarah, David, Rosie and Sophie all being prominent characters, even as children. Nowadays, the children literally disappear for months at a time and only reappear when the plot calls for them.

Will's motive for confessing

I live in New Zealand and this only aired last night for me. The episode where Tim convinces Will to confess about Megan and talk to the police. Later on in the episode, they stop Megan from boarding a plane and arrest her. Will's dad tells Will that Megan only had one ticket and was going to leave without him.

What?! That would have been the perfect motivation for him to confess!!! Why did it not happen in that order? There's no way Will would believe his dad about that. It just came across that he was trying to convince Will to let Megan go. But if Will had have shown up to the airport and there was no ticket for him, that would have made sense. That's a much stronger motive than a random chat with a cab driver. Why include that plot point at all if it wasn't going to be the driving factor?

I've done all the things!!!

I have a rule for myself that I can't beat the final boss in any game until I have 100% everything else possible.

After 640 hours of gameplay, only three days past the three year anniversary of the games release, I have finally completed everything else possible.

I have done every shrine, collected every korok seed, all hearts, all stamina, all energy, full compendium (minus the ones I'll get of Ganon), every quest, every light root. Finally, just now, I fully upgraded the final piece of armour.

I can now go and fight Ganon.
