Did anyone try a stereo ORTF config with a third shotgun mic as a center mic for nature ambiences?

Did you? What was your experience? Does the shotgun mic add anything useful?

Im still waiting for my refund. What should I do?

I returned an 1400$ item 15 days ago that bought online and im still waiting for my refund. After i returned it i got an automized mail that my money is on the way but it never showed up on my bank account nor in the Paypal App.

The dealer told me to wait because he has issues with his merchandise management system and that I will get my money as soon as possible. However he cant tell me how long it will take.

Since it is a rather big retailer im not worried too much that they are trying to scam me but I wonder if I should open a case with PayPal. I could also order the money back through my banking account but it will likely get me in trouble with PayPal. What should I do?

How did aircraft pilots in WWII thought about bombing civil targets? Do we have written memoirs of one? Why didn’t they refuse to do it? No matter what propaganda one believes it could never have feeled right to push the button right?

RAF Marham Family Day Airshow

3 shots I took today. Minimal edit in phocus mobile 2 app. Very new to the app so couldn’t actually see if there’s an eraser tool I just played with some grass tone on the first pic and the grayscale on the other 2.

Learning how to take a bit more time with this camera. Really enjoying it though.

This makes me sick and tired. Theres a projector and its animated. To be fair it alternates between this and transparent mode.

Why do people buy vintage style lenses like Thypoch Simera-C when real vintage lenses are dirt cheap?

I have the Nikon ZR with some Nikkor S class lenses which are fantastic but also clinically sharp. I was then looking for something with more imperfections. I came across the Simera-C and people seem to like them. I also liked the images I saw. However even though they can be considered cheap they are still around 1000$ each. Then I saw the Helios 44-2 which seems like a popular vintage style lens. What shocked me was that they sell for around 100$. There are also a lot of other old lenses that sell for nothing. Why would I spend ten times more? They are completely manual anyways? Please give me some insight. Im a beginner.

Help needed with Zoom F6

Im coming from a Zoom F3 and went for a new Zoom F6 because I wanted to record more mics at the same time. However the learning curve is kind of steep.

Ive set the F6 to 32 bit float and the track knobs are set to "reference level". Im recording four mono mics into a poly file format. The manual states that with 32 bit float dialing in the gain is not required. However theres a big difference in volume in the recording when I view it in REAPER depending on how I much turned the track knobs. I dont get it. With the Zoom F3 I could decrease and increase the volume of a mic with the buttons (32x, 64x, 128x, 256x and so on) but as far as I remember this only had an effect on the headphone output and not on the actual recording or am I wrong? Also I noticed the volume of the recording does not change when I turn the track knobs while recording. The volume only changes with a new recording started. What do I need to do? Maybe I was using the F3 wrong but I never dialed anything in. I just pressed record. Isnt this the concept of 32 bit float? Or is it just how REAPER shows the recordings? Because even when the track knobs are set very low and REAPER barely shows any signal I can raise the volume by a lot to get what I recorded but theres surely a difference in quality compared to adjusting the knobs beforehand right? Wrong?

I want to bring my Arkfeld Pro on a vacation but Im not sure wether it is okay to carry in the pocket in an airplane since its a laser pointer as well as a bright (UV) light with a battery. Youll probably tell me its okay but i figured since youre not allowed to bring all sorts of random stuff into a plane I rather ask.
