I feel like people hate ugly people more on day to day life than they hate evil people it is harder to indentify who is evil but easier to find who is ugly people find ugly people more suspicious, creepy than a attractive person doing something suspicious and many time they simply create a halo effect if a attractive person did something bad it could be misunderstood he can be redeemed where they completely ignore it on less attractive people
Is it just me, or do people have some weird obsession with who suffers more, especially in rezero, berserk, and when they cry higurashi?
Like, I understand there is a place where we can tell which suffering is worse—for example, obviously slipping on a banana is nothing compared to seeing a loved one die. But when you compare a 19-year-old child trapped in a fucking death loop, completely isolated and unable to tell anyone, vs a person who got ntr'd by his best friend and has a supernatural marking where he can't get peace, vs a 10-year-old girl trapped in a 100-year loop... at this stage, suffering becomes abstract. You can't compare it, and the entire thing is dumb to begin with.
I have seen people pulling out medical papers saying, "death don't hurt bro, he is just getting frozen to death or his arm chopped off." Like, he is getting killed by his friend! And Rika is fucking 10 years old, trapped in the same time for 100 years. In Guts' case, people say, "well he can at least die." Bro, his soul is going to hell the second he dies, what are you even talking about?
Suffering is not math we can calculate. A person getting trapped in an eternal loop of death vs a person getting his arm chopped off and living the rest of his life caged—it looks easy to say the infinite death loop person has it worse. But what if the death loop person goes absolutely numb after 10 deaths, where the caged person never does, and he loved to draw more than anything? It becomes abstract again.
People hold emotions differently based on the thing. A person's necklace breaking vs a person's arm breaking—it sounds like the arm person has it worse, but what if the necklace was the last symbol of his dead daughter?
As well, karma also matters. Let's take Diavolo, the fan favorite in suffering debates. He fucking killed children and did way worse things, where Rika, Subaru, and Guts did fucking nothing. The universe just woke up one day and decided, "I am in a bad mood, let's make these people suffer."
As well, it is complete hypocrisy to say who suffers more when we as readers can't even take a single broken arm. We would be the person standing on top of a building giving an edgy dialogue about how the universe deserves to suffer and killing people. So stop comparing suffering like it's math.
Just imagine Subaru's situation, waking up 400 years later. After all the times he died to save people, he never gets to see their happiness or their endings. Reinhard is dead along with the fallen kingdom, all his friends are gone, Emilia abandoned her dream for Subaru, the kingdom itself is history, and Petra turned into a Witch.
And that's not even the worst part. The thing that hits me the most is his age.
After getting free, Subaru spends 40 years recovering, unable to even use his body properly and trapped inside a room. The same person who used to run everywhere is unable to even eat without Beatrice's help and needs immense effort just to breathe. And when he's finally able to move again, the first thing he does is go to save Emilia. Let's say he saves Emilia—Subaru is already 60 years old and won't live for more than 20 years. Imagine Emilia waking up and seeing an old Subaru, knowing everyone she knows is dead, and realizing Subaru won't live for more than 20 or 30 years. Subaru missed his entire youth trapped bedridden, and he won't even be able to spend more than 20 years with the girl he died so many times for.
Ever since the whole "Relevancy League" trend started blowing up on TikTok and YouTube, the brainrot in cross-verse debates has reached an all-time high. There is this bizarre, widespread delusion that high-tier cosmic characters like Hajun (Shinza Bansho), Featherine (Umineko), or Reinhard (Re:Zero) only exist or get talked about because of Goku. Mainstream fans will unironically look at these verses and claim these characters have "no story, no character arcs, and are just blank stat-sheets made to beat Shonen characters."
I was browsing YouTube shorts and stumbled onto this corner of the community. The youtuber would literally wank anything and everything about Goku and would downplay everything about other community. One of the top commenters here is dropping the most legendary downplays I have ever seen just to prove Goku solos everything.
He literally argued Hajun is only 5D, and went on to scale Featherine to human level. If you disagree, he just calls everything downplay and replies with "Goku solos." Has anyone else run into this side of YouTube scaling?

I completely agree that India has an internal racism and discrimination problem, and I completely agree that we need to solve it. In fact, the Indian government is trying in many ways and it has decreased, but I understand this is still a major issue in India against Dalits. However, bringing this up in a post where the main talk is specifically about racism against Indians is just completely idiotic. It is exactly like a man making a post about women filing false cases against men, only for someone to reply, "Well, men also hit women, go fix that first." A response like that completely ignores both issues. Furthermore, Dalits are also a part of India, and they face the exact same racism when they go abroad, so both issues are problems that need to be addressed instead of using one to silence the other. Some people act as if your country need to be flawless before you get the reward of less racsim , but basic human empathy and the right to not face racism are absolute. They are not a reward given out to individuals based on how "kind" their home country's government or society is perceived to be. This logic unfairly holds regular, individual citizens like students, tourists, or working professionals abroad personally accountable for the massive, deep-rooted socio-political challenges of a nation of 1.4 billion people. If an Indian student is racially harassed on a subway in a foreign country, saying, "Well, I'd have sympathy for you, but your country needs to be kinder to Dalits first," is textbook victim-blaming on a geopolitical scale. The student did not design India's social fabric; they are just a human being trying to live their life. When a mass shooting, a hate crime, or a tragedy happens to citizens from Western nations, reasonable people don't withhold their sympathy by saying, "Well, I'd care, but your country has a massive history of colonial exploitation, systemic racism, or gun violence, so go fix that first." If a US student is shot down abroad and a foreign government says, "Oh sorry, but your country has a large number of shootings as well," and completely ignores the case, everyone would agree it is wrong. At the end of the day, when people commit acts of racism, they don't care about what your religion or country actually is. There are so many people who were not even born in India and have lived their entire lives in Europe, but because they look Indian, they still face racism. What are they even supposed to do about India's social issues? Racists only see skin color, which just proves that using India's internal problems to justify global discrimination makes absolutely no sense.

Just a random thought
It's fascinating how evil or sinful people can never truly get along with each other because of ego, while virtuous people naturally collaborate. Because evil only distorts what already exists, it's entirely parasitic. If evil completely "won," it would instantly starve. What are your favorite examples of stories or philosophies that tackle this fundamental loneliness of evil?

The 1/10 review is pure comedy. Bro's 2016 internet connection finally finished uploading a decade later, right in the middle of Season 4.
The funniest part is they didn't even try to larp like a modern viewer. It's just the same old generic copy-paste complaints about Return by Death ruining the stakes.
But the absolute peak of this media illiteracy is claiming that Subaru "is unable to learn from past mistakes." Bro... we are literally in the middle of the "Who Am I" arc. His memory is quite literally erased right now. What mistakes is he even supposed to remember?! Are we even watching the same show? 😭
Tell me you haven't watched a single episode past the first half of Season 1 without telling me. Shoutout to the 58 people at the bottom of for immediately clearing this trash take off the board........
Pack it up, boys. The ultimate peak fiction analysis has arrived.
My favorite part is definitely complaining about the amnesia trope being lazy while simultaneously claiming the light novel is better... when this is literally a faithful adaptation of Arc 6.
But hey, I guess Mushoku Tensei isn't getting enough promotion these days, so the fans have to resort to canvassing for it under Re:ZERO episodes. The hustle is real
