Pickleball Court + Cafe + what other business?

We are conveniently located near a Pickleball Court so we put up a small cafe catering the food and beverage needs of pickleball players.

We still have a small idle lot around which could be used to put up a small venture. What businesses have you seem around, in or near Pickleball courts?

How much do small cafes sell per day? And how can we improve ours?

We just started our small, pickleball courtside cafe selling coffee, non-coffee and food. It’s only a home cafe and we only have on employee, no rent.

Daily sales in the first week did average around 4K to 5K per day.

As a neophyte coffee bar/small cafe owner, is this good? Is this bad? Any tips on how to further improve it? Thank you!

High Profit Margin Cafe Menu

Hi there! We have recently started our small coffee shop beside our pickleball courts. On our soft opening week, it earns around 3-4K sales per day which we are quite happy already since it’s only a small, one-employee home cafe.

However, we want to curate our menu offerings.

What items, coffee, non-coffee or food — has high profit margins and sells relatively well? We are very open to suggestions.

Salamat po!

LF: Pickleball Court Booking (and queue) System

We are looking for an affordable but working pickleball court booking system (and maybe, queue system for open plays) for our Facebook page.

We currently own:

2 outdoor silica courts (For hourly rent)
2 indoor tiled court (For open plays mostly)

Please dm your proposal together with the rate. We are also considering reclub pero not everyone is using it (not from the metro). Salamat po!

What’s the best way to learn and practice bookkeeping?

I have a small theoretical background on bookkeeping but have never done it myself. Lately, I put up a small business which I would like to apply bookkeeping, especially with compliance to BIR after I register it.

What’s the best way to practice bookkeeping? And in maintaining the books of accounts, what do you recommend - manual, exel or computerized accounting system?

Salamat!

Tax, Bookkeeping and BIR compliance a lucrative business?

Hi — anyone here knows someone who is working as a tax practitioner and dealing with bookkeeping + compliance with the BIR? May or may not be a CPA.

How green, financially, is this line of work? Do you have to be more technical or must have connections in the BIR?

Do BIR revenue officers maintain working papers of computation for taxpayers?

How does the BIR, through its revenue officers, determine the amount a taxpayer should pay for their income, business and other taxes? How do they document their computation, do they maintain working papers like in audit and accounting?

What is a typical work day for BIR revenue officers like?

Hi taxPH — I am curious as to what a typical work day is for BIR employees, in particular their revenue officers. I understand that the vast majority of them, if not all, are CPAs.

Do they do accounting and auditing? How do they document their tax computation for taxpayers? Do they have working papers for substantiation? Ano ang workflow ng processes nila, especially in issuing LOAs?

Help, please. I want to understand the process as I will be potentially do tax compliance for the small family business we have. Thanks!

How to work with BIR Revenue Officers if planning to be tax agent?

Tomorrow I will be meeting with BIR revenue officers who are visiting our town for a different BIR-related official visit. What is the best way to talk to BIR officers if I wanted to offer/learn tax-related services (tax management, filing, bookkeeping and accreditation) and offer these services to the public after training?

Negosyo beside a pickleball court?

My grandfather owns 2 pickleball courts and he is expanding it soon by constructing another two. We live adjacent to the court and we have a small idle lot. What’s the best business to put up considering these?

Right now:

Small cafe with an entry-level commercial machine. Will also sell refreshments, food and perhaps a small pro-shop.

Any tips? What best to sell? Any cafes near pickleball courts in your areas, and if so, how are they doing?

Best way to Learn Compliance with BIR?

Hi —

I am a CPA that has 3 years of SGV experience. However, in the past years I have not been practicing the profession but is working on an entirely different field.

I seem to notice that in our area, there are no accredited tax partners/agencies and I am considering of going back to public practice, with a niche on tax compliance for local clients with BIR.

What’s the best way to learn the in and outs of dealing with BIR myself before offering tax services? Where to learn? What steps best to take?

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated. Open also to compensate if anyone is offering their expertise. Salamat!
