Thinking of building something to cut down on workers interruptions, thoughts ?

Hey everyone, i've been thinking about how much workers get pulled out of focus by interruptions: unclear priorities, notifications from a dozen different tools, no way to signal "I'm heads-down right now."

The idea: something that connects to the tools you already use (GitHub, Jira, Slack, calendar, etc.), figures out what's actually urgent vs. what can wait, and only interrupts you for the stuff that matters, batching the rest for later. It could also show teammates a simple status (busy / free) instead of you getting pinged constantly, without tracking your actual activity.

Curious what people think, is this something that would actually help you, or am I missing the real problem? Any feedback is genuinely useful.

What actually breaks your focus during the day ?

Curious what pulls you out of deep work most, non-urgent interruptions, unclear priority, tasks changing mid-work, whatever it is for you. Not looking for a specific answer, just want to hear what it's actually like and how you deal with it .

What breaks your focus or priorities most during the week ?

I've been struggling to stay focused during my work days lately, either interrupted by emergencies, unwanted conversations, multiple not organized micro-tasks. I want to know about your experiences .

Not looking for a specific answer, just want to hear what it's actually like and how you deal with it.

Buzzing and low guitar volume

Hello everyone, so yesterday i plugged in my amp, connect to my guitar then when i played the volume is low and sounds nothing like the harsh drop sound, when i plug in my headphones all i hear is buzzing sound. i have a low quality cable that i stepped on many time and i think it's the one causing this issue. since the equipment is month old i don't think it can be the issue.

Any idea about the buzzing and low volume , thanks !

Open source email builder.

I built an open source email builder with figma like UI and interactivity.

- 15+ block types (product cards, coupons, countdown, image grids, etc.)

- Compatibility checker against 18 email clients before you send

- Exports to raw HTML or React Email code (for devs who want to own the template in their codebase)

- Free tier: 3 projects, all block types, 100 test sends/month

Abbreviations

A new feature was added to my app, it allows you simply to create abbreviations, assign a prefix you comfortable to use , then in any note you can access the list of abbreviations and insert them. This way you won't have to re-write a content multiple-times when you can just call it.

Check inkwell, it's open-source and free to use

Learning progress

Hello everyone, hope you doing okay. So I bought my guitar a week ago and since then I've been learning chords , transitioning m getting good at hitting the notes but can't sound properly when following a song. So I was wondering should I keep learning to transition between chords one by one. Or choose a song a like that is a bit simple and keep following until I get it ? Thanks !

New Update

Hello u/tauti following my inkwell app, thank you for the good feedback !

i've been working on new features

  • Weekly Planner: tag-based task view per day. Tags stick around so you can re-use them. Progress counter per day. All stored in the vault.

  • Quick Note Window: ⌘N shortcut opens a floating note window from anywhere, even when the app is closed. Choose a folder, save. Draft survives if you dismiss.

looking for your feedback again ! Thank You .

I built an open-source AI chat bubble for React that uses shadcn/ui — fully self-hostable, no cloud needed

Hey r/shadcn , i built something that might be relevant here.

Lume is an AI assistant widget for any React app. It runs entirely on your machine via Ollama — no API keys, no data leaving your infra, no cloud dependency.

The internal UI is built on shadcn/ui using the standard so if you already have shadcn in your app, your components style-match automatically.

A few things it supports:

  • Drop-in: one component, works out of the box
  • Custom actions — let the assistant call real functions in your app (with a confirmation step)
  • Custom components — register your own shadcn components and the assistant renders them inline instead of plain text
  • LumeProvider — configure once at the root, control context from anywhere

Still early, would love feedback .
