Some new bulb-outs on Commercial St added over the weekend

Just a small dent in a huge problem, but it’s a start. 👍🏼

Some kind of small (gas?) rupture at the corner of Exchange/Middle

Could only nab a 2 second recording while I was stopped but lots of smoke billowing out of the sidewalk, and whatever happened was strong enough to displace several bricks from the ground.

LAST CALL for Portland Transportation Survey

Hi All,

PUHLEEEEEAAAASE fill out this official survey the City is conducting by Monday the 27th. Portland-in-Motion will be the City’s first comprehensive Transportation Plan in 30 years, and it’s your opportunity to tell the Planning Board what Portland should focus on to reduce car dependence and improve safety for everyone living and visiting here. This will drive the City’s priorities and actions for the next decade+.

So far the City has received only 400 responses to the questionnaire. This can and should be much higher.

If you’ve ever been cut off by an SUV or a truck trying to cross the street in Portland, or you know someone who was killed at one of our many car-centric intersections, I shouldn’t have to tell you how important this is. It takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Thank you.

Here’s the survey link. There’s a map feature where you can mark and annotate particular streets or intersections that you think suck, so it’s best done on a computer.

(P.S. I don’t work for City of Portland, just want to drive civic engagement.)
