I have no idea who to ask this to anymore, I’ve emailed my admission counselor person and submitted a help request but they’re all saying the same thing. I’m a future ASU student (incoming freshman) and I had sent my high school transcripts through parchment like my school told me to in April & May. I have yet to see the priority task be marked off, and I’m starting to get stressed out. I think it’s important to note the following since it probably is the cause of my issue (but I have 0 clue how to fix it). I accidentally made 2 parchment accounts (for some reason I couldn’t figure out how to change my password on my original account) where I sent my dual enrollment transcript on one and my high school transcript on the other.

This whole time I had hoped it wouldn’t change anything but now I think it’s not working out for me. When I told my admission representative this and the help center, they both told me not to worry about it because sometimes it can take up until July to process my transcripts. But because of my mistake regarding my accounts, I think this was caused by my end. So my question is, what should I do? Should I contact ASU again and try to get more help? Should I order my transcripts again? Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense I just don’t know what to do atp and I’m really busy with prepping to move into dorms and whatnot.

Just watched the newest main channel video and it reminded me of this underground house I tried to visit when it had an open house. Sadly I couldn’t go because the owners didn’t want anyone under the age of 21 touring (for some reason) but there are pictures and information available online. This was also built in the 70’s, but was made to be energy efficient (and not an apocalypse bunker).

It was apparently made by a family of engineers and artists, so that’s pretty cool. I believe it was sold a few years ago but idk if it’s still in the family. Here’s more info on this article since I didn’t want to yap.

Wtf is this Pinterest?? I think the app updated by itself (my auto updates are off on all devices) and I opened the app for the first time today and in the usual list of ideas for my boards, a new one showed up and I was really confused. It’s named “Road trip inspo” and when I went to see what it was (thinking my account got hacked or something) it’s a whole suggestion section thing for Ford. And instead of your normal scrolling experience it’s cars being advertised by Ford. Every single image is an ad. It’s not endless, being 18 ads but this is beyond unacceptable. I don’t know how to get rid of it.

Accidentally updated Pinterest like yesterday (was avoiding the UI change) and it’s so bad. I feel like I get so many more ads and the buttons are so close together, and why is the search bar at the bottom??

I recently got a new laptop (ASUS ROG Strix G16) for mostly gaming purposes. I downloaded a few games that need around 60 fps to run smoothly and realized the fps caps at about 30 fps. However, I’ve gotten them to run at 60 like 2 times, so that’s pretty strange.

For debugging, I tried switching the the highest refresh rate, turning off v-sync, and updating and restarting multiple times. I also tried comparing my settings to my old laptop which can run the games just fine (also windows) but I couldn’t find any differences.

For specifications: this (new) laptop has windows 11 home, The OS build is 26200.8457, 8 gb graphics card ram, 16 gb DDR5 memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU.

Im pretty technically inept so if you have solutions, please be as specific as possible! I also just got this laptop like 5 days ago so note that i am not used to/very familiar with ASUS or its apps like Armoury Crate. I’ll offer the specs of my OLD laptop just for comparison (it’s so much weaker for gaming haha).

I have no idea if I should’ve posted this to a gaming Reddit or a windows Reddit so I understand if this gets removed. I recently received a new ROG strix laptop with windows 11 and downloaded some games that I have on my old laptop (also windows 11). When I ran them, I noticed that the fps wouldn’t go above 30 (the game needed around 60 to run smoothly). I tried messing around with my display settings and some settings within my game to no avail. If this continues, I’ll just play this game on my old laptop (I also can’t understand why it runs fine on my old laptop but not my new one). I’ve been playing mysmes since like 2020 so this is a strange issue I’ve come about. I’ve been somewhat speed running through the routes to finally catch all the endings. At some point, probably a few weeks ago I noticed that there were no longer any voice acting in the story modes. I tried resetting the audio levels in the game multiple times to no avail. The emoji sounds still work, the calls still work so this is definitely a strange issue. I mentioned the speed running just in case it has something to do with it, but if it did, I’d think that all voice acting would cease function. Any suggestions?

Ok so for background information me and these friends all had this English teacher I’ll call Ms. Murphy. Most of us (including me) had her 2 years ago and I think 1 of them had her 3 years ago. Note that only a few (like 3) of them were in the same period as me.

Ok so I didn’t actually think Ms. Murphy was racist until mid-end of the semester. When school started, she seemed to be your average strict teacher (lots of homework, no leniency, generally cold). But as the year went by, it became increasingly clear that she didn’t care about any of us.

I think it’s important to note that Ms. Murphy had full control over the books we read in class, since most of her issues with me stems from how she dealt with the topics of these books. All the books she chose for us to read were either extremely boring, crazy/gross, or just upsetting/really depressing. One of the worst being this book that was basically a soap opera that contained an egregious amount of explicit material and plot points that were plainly for shock value. However, the books I’ll mainly be talking about are Why The Caged Bird Sings, and The Joy Luck Club. (BTW - I think these are great books to read I just hate how we dealt with them). The former being about a real person accounting her experiences with racism (being black and in the south) and the latter discussing intergenerational trauma between Asian mothers and daughters.

Now you won’t get the whole picture of my issues with Ms. Murphy until I describe how the class went. For reference, we’d quite literally do the same exact thing every day for every week. Monday and Tuesday we’d read our assigned chapters, wed and thurs we’d have comprehension questions, and Friday we’d have a class Socratic seminar. We’d do this until we finish the book and we write a paper and take a test. You can start to get an idea of how little she engaged with us and the books.

So Ms. Murphy really started being on my radar of people who’d let me get hate crimed when we started Why The Caged Bird Sings. Despite her one off mention that there’d be slurs in the 2 racial books we’d read, she had no problem with non black kids saying anti black slurs during our Socratic Seminars (where we had to use quotes). The first few times I realize she wouldn’t stop anyone from doing this (she actively participated in these so she knew) I literally left school early because of how distraught I was. After like the 4th time, I ended up going to the principal. However, the principal didn’t really seem to care and actually defended her endlessly. The principal literally told me that Ms. Murphy would never allow that. The principal (and to an extent Ms. Murphy) ended up making empty promises that Murphy would have a conversation about slur usage in class. After multiple confirmations that she never did, the principal still did nothing.

Now, you’d think this would be the end. But after I angrily gave up on getting any justice, I started noticing how many times Ms. Murphy would take off points of my work for very stupid reasons. This started probably end of 1st semester and basically lasted the rest of the year. It got so bad that any individual work that I did, she’d take points away for something as dumb as “didn’t put author in the right place” for my book project (where she didn’t include or mention a placement). This was the cycle for the rest of the year. She’d mark me down, and I would have to go up to her in person, email her, or respond to her comments in order to get the grade I actually should’ve gotten . And even though I believe this sub doesn’t allow certain pics of messages, I still have plenty of messages between us showing evidence of this (that my principal also denied). This was definitely the most shocking of things she did, more so how the principal also didn’t care about this. Like Murphy was literally punishing me for trying to report her.

Now, hearing all of this you might think my friends would also hate her. Nope. Even while this was all happening, they’d occasionally talk to/about Murphy like she’s their favorite teacher. Sometimes, they’d tell me that they went to her for drama advice. I was obviously very upset but never really voiced anything. At some point-where, I don’t remember, I had asked everyone who had her to not mention her around me. I had hoped this boundary would at least shield me with ignorance that my friends all loved this horrible teacher. But even afterwards, they’d still bring her up. It’s honestly been eating at mefor the past 2 years.

Now as the school year concludes once again, me and my friends are considering gifting teachers that we appreciate. One of my friends who I’ll call Mary listed her in the teachers that she’ll gift in the next week. She mentioned how she was getting a list of teachers cards and mini cakes that she bought. This really brought me back to how alone I felt 2 years ago when I was so distraught that none of them were defending me and it all came back. I casually asked Mary why she’d gift her something and she responded with “she wrote me a really kind letter of rec so I have to give her something” which I think is bs. It makes me so upset that Mary would literally go out of her way and spend money on this teacher. And that none of my other friends who after hearing everything about that year (some being in the same class as me) stood up for me or also denounced Ms. Murphy. Like if anything like this (even though they’re all white) happened to them, I’d never talk about Murphy like that. What’s more, I’d never speak highly of her because why in the world would I want to associate with her?!

Honestly, the only reason why I haven’t blown up at them is because I sit around a ton of them in one of my classes and there’s very little seating availability if I wanted to move (which would be unrealistic since the last day of school is next Thursday). I just feel so hurt but no one defends me, and it seems like no one cares. Am I overreacting in some way? Why does no one care? And what do I do from here?

like 2-3/5 importance? I’ll be walking as my main commute but I can’t imagine laptops can get extremely heavy. But I’ll keep it in mind
