I noticed today the small council truck that comes by to pickup the food waste, only stopped at maybe 1 or 2 houses in my street, significantly lower than subsequent weeks.

I'm doing it, but I barely fill 15% of the bin each week, as I only usually have tea bags and egg shells, seems like a waste of compost bags to send the bin out each week, but if I leave it to long, even in the cooler/colder weather, those tiny flies start showing up and the smells of rotting waste.

One thing that's always puzzled me about the Silo's after seeing what's "behind door number 2", so to speak, is huge storage area for all those books, art, technology and everything that obviously has incredible value, otherwise it wouldn't have been put there.

In the case of Silo 17 for instance, the pumps were disabled, so the water I assume would work its way up to the surface level, destroying everything in that room (Assuming the vault area 0is not water tight).

You'd think they would have a vault just dedicated to preserving everything from the past, if a single silo can hold all those people, they could've used that instead of the 50 others which could all end up being terminated at some point.

I mean I Get that at some point at year 500, it seems one Silo will be chosen to start a new world, assuming any still exist at that point, but you'd think everything like that would be in one location. (unless it's some kind of redundancy plan in case a single storage silo gets destroyed somehow)

Not sure if this is something that can be automated or not, but I would like to run some kind of program or batch file, that renames 4 files in a folder, based on a numerical entry in a json file

It's basically renaming the 4 files that belong to steamwork shop mods.

Files are in the format of - NameofMod.pak (.sig, .ucas and .utoc)

The Json file is always named modinfo.json

In each Json file, for each mod is this entry:

"steamId": 1263456789, (each mod has a unique number)

So it would need to grab that number, the rename the 4 files so they look like:

3743087805.pak / 3743087805.sig / 3743087805.ucas / 3743087805.utoc

Not sure if I'm allowed to offer payment for this to be created, as I appreciate it's probably a lot of work!

But I definitely do need this, as I have over 200 mod folders and I don't fancy renaming every file manually

So a workshop modder I know has been updating abandoned mods on the Bellwright steam workshop, these mods contain only code/assets from the game company (donkey crew), nothing custom or privately owned.

The mods in question were last updated over a year ago, so he's been re-releasing them, fixed and updated for the current game.

The original author has since thrown a tantrum and demanded he remove them as he "owns" the copyright and intellectual properties of assets that don't even belong to him.

Because said modder refused to remove them, the complainer started submitting fake/false DMCA requests, once every 7ish days, so each time he does so, the modder is blocked from uploading and/or updating any mods on his account.

As I understand it, the one doing this has to file a lawsuit in the US and provide proof within 10 days of doing so, which he won't, as he lives in Egypt of all places.

So when the 10 days pass, I assume Valve will restore the blocked mod(s), but what about all the others he keeps filing DMCA's on? is it going to be an endless block with all these fake DMCAS?

Having quite a nightmare with Natwest right now, I've applied for the governments support for mortgage interest scheme.

Part of that paperwork that I Get has to be sent to Natwest for them to stamp and send back

Well, trying to find the address for that has been a nightmare, to put it mildly

I've made around 4 phone calls, been given 2 completely wrong/invalid addresses and I decided to just send it to my local branch and the benefits section that deals with another scheme they run

That was over 2 weeks ago and the DWP still hasn't received anything from them

Trying to get help over the phone with any of this has been 100% futile.

Has anyone else gone through this process and know where I need to send the forms?

I Was thinking about this earlier at random, what if the miners who are possibly digging horizontally, are NOT digging towards Silo 17, but Silo 1?

That might explain why they've been at it for so long and why they needed so many light bulbs.

From memory it's been months since Lukas went missing and given how close the silos are together, surely they would've broken through to Silo 17 by now?

I was wondering if I could get some advice on something please.

I make mods for a game called Bellwright, it uses (at present) Unreal Engine 5.6 and a customised modkit.

As such, plugins like Fab don't work with the custom engine/kit.

But, if I install a copy of Unreal engine 5.6, it interferes with the UE modkit, meaning, every time I launch either kit, it has to go through the whole compiling shaders thing all over again.

But it's the only way I know of to download Fab plugins, then copy them to the modkit.

I really don't understand why we HAVE to use the Epic games/fab thing to download assets, but I assume there's no way to download them directly is there?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Given the significant advances in AI tech in the last 5ish years, especially when it comes to film and photo restoration.

I often wonder if it could ever be used to enhance and read more words from that Ramey memo?

If the exact typeface from the memos of that era was identified, then the AI trained to compare it to the letters on the memo, do you think it could do a better job at picking out words? heck even letters at this point would be great.

I don't think there's been any recent attempts, but if AI can be used to read text from ancient scrolls, from an Xray, then surely it could be tweaked? to read the memo.
