SunRail

Dumb question. I normally go to games on Saturdays so I’ve never considered the SunRail as an option, but I’m thinking about going tomorrow night and live near a SunRail station. Assuming we aren’t weather delayed, is it reasonable to get back to the Church St station after the game before 1030 when the last train at that station leaves?

ETCP test scheduling

Gearing up to hopefully take the entertainment electrician cert test soon. How does it work? Do I go to a specific (regional???) testing center? Do they give you dates to choose from? Or do they tell you date, time, and place and it’s up to you to get there like it’s a a show call?

I have a “survival job” at the moment and I’d like to have an idea about this detail so I can prepare about asking for the day off if necessary

Thanks all!

Walmart account?

This morning my 7 year old TV was signed out when I turned it on. Odd. I go to sign in and it wants me to make a Walmart account (that I don’t want) so I did that and now I continuously get “Unable to process your request try again” When I sign in with the new Walmart request. I can’t even use the damn antenna on my TV right now.

Did Walmart brick my TV?

LeBron to Philly

If Embiid manages to stay healthy, where do you think we fall in the East? I think if we can manage to keep everyone healthy (big ask) I still think we can still end up 2nd or 3rd and above Philly

Gen 1 scheduled maintenance

Where do y’all go to get your scheduled maintenance done? I live at an apartment and it’s frowned upon if I change my own oil and filter. I usually go to a dealer for scheduled services but they’ve all gotten pretty expensive since I was last in

I’m considering going to a shop instead. I’ve got a Tires Plus close that services EVs and hybrids and an independent shop that also does EVs and hybrids. I assume either option would be fine? Short of any surprises, I don’t expect them to do anything more than the basics. I’ve got a little over 122k on it with no DTCs and she rides fine

Question about apartment and carpenter ants

TL;DR the title, the apartment doesn’t seem to care and doesn’t properly take care of the source, my cat has advanced kidney disease and I have reason to believe they sprayed inside Friday when there are no ants inside only in attached storage closet and I explicitly said I don’t want anything sprayed inside the apartment. What can I do as a renter?

I’m trying to find out if anyone knows what I can do as a renter here. I’ve been battling carpenter ants since April. My apartment has a closet attached to the patio area and it’s crawling with carpenter ants. The pest control guy’s words. This closet had exactly 4 things in it and they were all plastic. I’ve never had anything wood in it because it’s not climate controlled. I sweep it out weekly. I’ve never kept trash or food of any sort in it. Pest control has been out to spray every week since April 17. I’ve showed him where I see them coming in and out. He tells me the hole is a maintenance issue

I put in a maintenance issue and they come out and caulk. The ants are coming from above where the wood is. They caulk cracks in the cement on the ground.

Carpenter ants live in wood. The ceiling of my patio and that closet is wood. As is the facade of the wall of my patio. I have tried to explain this in both text in my maintenance requests and verbally in person when they are here. I have a language barrier with my apartment’s maintenance guys so when I try to explain I know they don’t fully know what I’m saying. They speak Spanish, which is fine, but my Spanish is limited. When they were out this week one guy smiled at me and shrugged and said “it’s Florida” which on one hand I appreciate but on the other he has ants living in the rotting wood of the building

My apartment’s office people don’t seem to want to deal with it. I talk to them and they tell me it’s a maintenance/pest control problem and to put in a service request through their portal. Their portal also doesn’t leave me a record of what I have asked on it

My newest biggest concern is that Friday I found a note from pest control inside my apartment. There are no ants (yet) inside and I’ve been adamant about not wanting anything sprayed inside my apartment because my cat has advanced kidney disease. My apartment’s office Friday kept telling me they use “non toxic” spray when I went in there but can’t tell me what that is nor can they produce the MSDS sheet. I asked who let the pest control guy into my apartment they couldn’t/wouldn’t say. I don’t use anything harsher than dawn dish soap in my apartment because of my cat’s condition, and again, there are no ants inside my apartment. The office did look at my work order and they could only apologize when they saw that I did in fact say that I didn’t authorize anyone to spray inside the apartment

I have a bunch of photos of the ants and where they are getting into that closet and their piles of frass on the ground. The maintenance portal has no way to attach them but I have emailed them to the office. The maintenance portal also doesn’t give me any record of what I write in the portal. Just an acknowledgement that it was received.

What if anything can I do here. I’ve been trying to google it but it seems renters have very limited rights in the state of Florida and as long as maintenance responds and does something within 7 days they do their job. Is there anything I can do here? I pay for this storage closet, but can’t use it because I don’t want my things crawling with ants

Is it kosher if

I wanted to ask my vet some questions in hind sight after my cat died a month ago? She deteriorated very quickly in the span of about 6 - 8 weeks and I was purely reacting and stressed during that time. But in the aftermath, I’ve connected some dots and it has left me wondering. I know no answer will bring her back. I’m just trying to maybe avoid future end of life mistakes. I don’t know. I’m not blaming my vet. She did her best with the information she had, and the entire office was great to us during that 6-8 week span

I don’t know how vets feel about answering questions after the fact when there’s nothing to do and they’re busy with other patients

Thanks

Best donuts in town

Not Orlando Weekly! (Yes I know that’s what Orlando Weekly would say.)

Seriously. I want to know where to find the best donuts in Orlando. I want to say thank you to my vet’s office and they mentioned they like donuts

Thanks everyone!
