Opinion on Roger

Spoilers ahead

I think I preferred TV Roger to book Roger.

Brianna and his relationship just seems so empty, no chemistry, little desire, a lot of problems! I don't know, I'm not feeling it, I don't get why he's there. It feels like Jamie still has a problem with him too and yet they seem to work together sometimes also, I don't get that. Get over it and bond already.

The situations Roger gets himself into and why he keeps venturing off or being sent away ALONE in this dangerous wilderness with indians, bears, crazy folk who hang him etc. that's annoying me so much, he's a gentle, soft, non violent, no outdoor skill sort of person. He cannot be alone in the country. Why would he go off on these tasks to survey alone after being hanged by his own kin. If it upset him that much I'm sure he wouldn't be taking any risks like that.

Why is he kissing some great grandmother of his, how stupid, how does he not realize how dangerous that is in these times to kiss someone else's wife?

I'm hoping his character improves. I read a post earlier about how Roger should have died at the hanging and I agree, this seems such a frustrating storyline, he's like this unlucky person who just always happens to be in the wrong place and never speaks up for himself, absolutely no survival skills and I don't think Bree is impressed.

Am I misinterpreting it?

TTC and terrified

We're planning to TTC next month, second pregnancy.

My first was severe HG from 7 weeks until 18 weeks and then milder for the rest, I could eat and gain weight after that and threw up just once a day.

I cannot get it out of my head, I'm so scared. I have a plan in place to take xonvea from the day of the positive test but I don't hold out much hope that it'll help.

Am I crazy for choosing to do it again? With a 2 year old too.

I've always considered adopting even before we had our first. That keeps popping into my head that I should do that, but there's so many complications that come with that too. Has anyone decided to adopt instead because of HG?

Or did you just get on with it?

I keep seeing posts about abortions and I understand how that feels as I just wanted to die with my first, I literally thought I could just die now and that would be fine. I even hoped for a miscarriage which I'm so ashamed to admit.

I don't want to feel like that again.

Any words of wisdom? Anything at all is appreciated

It's messed up my head

I tried watching this show a few years ago and couldn't do it, I turned it off and was far too disturbed about 3 episodes in.

I recently tried again and have been absolutely hooked on it but at the same time my mental health has declined massively. I've felt like I've been having a mental breakdown, feeling very depressed and I'm realizing it's probably because of this show.

We have a toddler and are considering trying for a second and I think it's messed with my thoughts about that too.

I'm on season 6 now and can't wait to get it finished and over with. I'm glad it's the final season. It has been a great show and I've really enjoyed it despite how disturbing I find it and how much it messes with my mind.

Anyone else feel this effect? I wish I wasn't binging it, it would be easier if I just had the one season to watch at a time.

Naming a daughter after the mother?

This doesn't seem to be a thing unfortunately!

I really struggle to like girls names, I like them but I wouldn't use them myself. I like my name and loved how unique it was, I never met another person with my name, always had compliments on it too.

I like Scottish and Welsh names. Our son has a Welsh name. Can anyone suggest some names in case we have a girl?

Names I like but unsure of...

-Josephine (seems really popular now)

-Heather (love a flower name but the rest seem more like dog names... Poppy, Daisy etc sorry if any offence, I love these names)

-Carys (will I be spelling this for everyone?)

-May

-Francesca

I love old rare names but I want people to be able to recognize it, pronounce it and possibly spell it. I have this problem with my son's name and I don't want to repeat it

What age gap did you decide?

Toddler will be turning 2. I don't know whether to try for our next baby when he turns 2 or wait till he turns 3.

He still seems so young and babyish and needs us a lot, but I grew up with a 5 year age gap and I'd like them to be able to play together a bit.

If we try when he turns 2 it'll be a nearly 3 year gap between them. If we wait till he turns 3 it'll be a nearly 4 year gap and that just sounds huge!

I had a horrible pregnancy so I'm worried about parenting a toddler whilst pregnant.

What did you decide and do you wish they were closer in age or further apart in age?

I know he's going to be so different when he's nearly 3 and I'll probably wish I had another baby by then, it's just hard to imagine currently because he's still so little to me.

What should I take now? Pre pregnancy...

I had HG with my first. This time I want to be prepared. I'm in the UK. I'm looking into trying to get meds from the GP as soon as I get the positive test. If you're in the UK did you manage this? I feel like they're going to fob me off.

But on top of that I've heard about taking vitamin B6?

Do I take a pregnancy vitamin that includes the B6 or is there a specific B6 high dose I can take?

Is there anything else over the counter that I could take to help?

Thanks

Thoughts on Rhodri?

This is an old Welsh name. I think it's still popular-ish in Wales. (not 100% sure)

Unfortunately we don't live in Wales, we live in the north of England closer to Scotland. We named our son it and people look at me like I have two heads.

I dread when people ask me his name, I have to repeat it twice for them to understand it.

Some people dont hear me right and they call him Rodney, I've also had people say Roady after they've read the name and tried to pronounce it. We have a Welsh surname so it does go together well. He has a very English middle name to balance it out.

I find myself over enunciating his name so people really hear the Ri part, it's like I say it so slow and clear and loud and they still go huh? The H really throws people off.

I saw it on a Welsh TV program and absolutely loved it. There's no changing it now but I'm worried he won't like it growing up, will it be a problem for him? It's not like I made it up, I'm a big fan of old traditional names but I've accidently given him a name nobody has ever heard of. To be fair some people say oh that's Welsh isn't it! And that cheers me up haha

Edit!! Forgot to say I have family who say Rhodgri Like Roger, Rodg-ree

When to have a second pregnancy?

My pregnancy was awful from week 6 to 20 weeks constant nausea and throwing up. I never went to hospital although I probably should have. I tried 2 or 3 different medications, they'd stop working after a few days. 20+ weeks I still wasn't great but I did go back to work, I still threw up each morning and night, but managed through the day. I had other horrible pregnancy symptoms though, pelvic pain, heart palpitations, exhaustion.

Our child is 19 months now and I'd love another... What was your second pregnancy like whilst having to care for a toddler?

I was signed off work with this one so was able to just stay in bed, obviously can't do that this time.

Was your second pregnancy better or worse? Did you regret choosing to go through it again? Is it manageable looking after a child with HG?

Trying to decide if we should wait till he's in school but then I didn't want a big age gap

Edit: I don't work now but do have my toddler.

Our cards are really scratched up

Anyone else's cards really scratched? Is this the norm or are we not taking care of them well enough?

I keep them in a box, they end up on the floor at times. I'm thinking of buying a file to keep them in individually.
