Please tell me CC parking gets better over time.

My god I got to campus an hour and a half early for my first class this morning and spent damn near the entire time driving around campus looking for a spot. I'm not even exaggerating. Every single goddamn lot was completely full. Literally the only reason I could even park was because I eventually just bit the bullet and just went to a paid spot.

Does CC parking clear up even a little bit after the first week or two? I expected the first day back to be bad, but holy shit. If it doesn't then I'll be refunding my pass if I can because this is insane.

About to clock into my last shift at Dollar Tree after working here for a couple years during college. Thought I'd take the time to cover some of the more annoying questions I've gotten from customers in my time:

  1. No, I can't blow up a balloon you brought from home or grabbed from the party aisle, its company policy. No, I don't care how much of an inconvenience you think it is.

  2. Yes, we are out of that specific balloon and/or helium right now. No, I can't sell you one from the wall. I'd get in trouble, they don't have strings on them, and the fucking things aren't even filled with helium to begin with.

  3. No, I don't know where the penny items are. Yes, I do know that the tiktok you watched this morning makes it look like workers try to hide the penny stuff. No, I'm not trying to be cute when I say I literally don't know. They don't tell us that.

  4. Yes, you do have to leave your backpack up front. No, I don't care that you're "using it as a purse." You're not being slick.

  5. Yes, we have tap-to-pay, just like every other chain retail store in the world.

  6. Turn the fucking card the other way around. The bar faces inward. That's the standard for every card reader ever.

  7. No, I can't break a $100 right now. We opened 10 minutes ago. Go to an ATM.

  8. No, I can't check to see if we have any more of that in the back. I'm literally not allowed to.

  9. No, we don't have the goddamn dumplings.

  10. No, we don't have any pokemon cards (and if we did, it'd be the shitty 3rd party re-packs with like, 2 worthless cards in them).

Okay is the first Crimson encounter in Mission 6 actually harder or am I just coping?

So I'm replaying through the game again after not touching it for a while, and my god I swear this game is actively making this first Crimson fight infinitely more difficult than it should be with some unprecedented fuckery.

9 times out of 10 I've watched my missiles literally teleport away from my target right before they actually hit. Its not even subtle, they'll get right behind them, and then suddenly pop like 50 ft to the side. Even when I'm just using guns I swear to God my reticle gets click-dragged to the opposite side of the screen before I even start shooting.

Like, I know you're not "supposed" to actually fight them here, the game literally tells you not to, but I've done it before, and at this point I've tried so many times that the sunk cost fallacy already set in.

Is it actually artificially more difficult or am I just bad, lmao?

Has anyone on the Pledge or Promise scholarships had their applied to their balances yet?

I checked this morning and every one of my other scholarships and grants for the year have been applied already, but my Pledge scholarship hasn't been added to my balance yet.

They were late with the last-dollar scholarships last year too, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me lol.

They were trying to make withdrawals look more attainable by lowering the limit, and accidentally revealed that you never could withdrawal in the first place, and that’s just hilarious.

I’m so done with GoMining, lol. You can type in your 2FA code exactly right every single time and it’ll lie to your face to say it’s wrong.

Withdrawal whatever you can and GTFO as soon as possible, it’s genuinely absurd how scummy this company is. I’m just saying, if they have to try this hard to clutch onto the $2 worth of leftover ether I had after upgrading a miner, then that’s probably not a good sign for the immediate future of the platform lmao.

The complete tonal shift in people talking about Jax being Trans post Ep 9 genuinely needs to be studied.

My god just a couple months ago people online would eat you alive just for saying you even remotely liked the idea of Jax being Trans. The amount of shitty comments and DMs I got personally with every type of insult you can think of just for saying once that there wasn't anything fundamentally wrong with the theory was ridiculous.

Now after the finale, all you see about it now is everyone just accepting it as being completely obvious. To the point that you see people saying it was so clear that they don't understand how anyone could have ever thought otherwise.

I'm just saying, as a Trans person, watching this polar shift in opinion happen in real time was a fucking whiplash.

Is it normal for this many people to be working all at once?

I worked at one store last summer where at most there would be 2-3 people working in the store at any given time, usually an associate plus one or two managers depending on how busy it was.

I was hired again for this summer at a different store, and at my first shift today I was genuinely blown away by how many people they had in. I lost count, but I swear at one point they had roughly 6-7 associates (counting me) plus three managers (the SM plus 2 ASMs) all working at the same time.

This new store's definitely a little bit bigger, but even then the old store was arguably busier, so I'm really not sure where the difference would come from.

I don't care if you couldn't find a babysitter, I don't care if the rest of the family was busy. If you have young children, and you're either unwilling or unable to control their behavior for long enough to keep them from being loud as shit and distracting the entire class, stay the fuck home for the day. It's irresponsible on your end and blatantly disrespectful to your professor and other students.
