Under a post about 39 degree heat in Italy.
I submitted an appeal that got rejected, but I know it obviously wasn't reviewed by a human because I haven't done child exploitation. Anyone know what I can do about this?
Being vague about it in the title as per the rules, and I hope this post is acceptable here. But just the other day I was reading a Twitter thread where some idiot was trying to argue that ace people never face discrimination, and somebody mentioned "Corrective Rape". I hadn't ever heard of the term so I googled it and I found out that this is exactly what happened to me in high school.
Okay so I guess a bit of important background. People generally say I have very big boobs, and this was true even in high school, so my body tends to gather a lot of unwanted sexual attention. There was a bisexual boy in my class who I was friends with, and eventually he confessed that he had feelings for me. I didn't really mind that by itself, lots of people have had crushes on me and I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I know some people can be normal about it, and he was a close friend so I thought he'd be able to be normal about it to.
He would sometimes make jokes about "turning me straight" but I didn't really ever think there was any weight or real intention behind those words. And there were some times when I was over at his house and he made some unwanted advances, and in hindsight I should've seen that as more of a red flag than I did at the time.
But one night I had a sleepover and fell asleep on the couch after tiring myself out playing Bear Saber. When I woke up he was on top of me touching me in various ways. I wish I moved or said anything or did something to stop him but I just sort of pretended I was still asleep. He had a knife on the table nearby (he liked collecting them) and I was in shock and just terrified he would hurt my physically. Yes I know it was dumb of me to not see this coming but I didn't really ever see him as threatening before that, and of course it sounds a lot more obvious when I specifically lay out the clues in hindsight like this.
This is definitely a vent, and aphobia, and needs a content warning. But I can only apply one flare so content warning feels like the best one.
I've been working on this game for a while now. It's meant to combine the deckbuilding roguelike elements of Inscryption with a turn based combat system similar to Inkshade, Mewgenics, and other turn tactics games.
Let me know what you thing, and it's my first game release so please don't be too hard on me. There's an alpha version available on itch, but a proper demo will soon be releasing on Steam and hopefully I can get the game finished in a reasonable amount of time
You can wishlist it here on Steam, or download the beta here on Itch.io
I needed to make a trailer to put my game demo on Steam, so I made this today. Right now the game is in pretty early development and is lacking a lot of visual variety which I definitely think the trailer suffers for. But I'm also looking for any other feedback.
What did I do wrong in this trailer? What should I do better next time?
I posted about this a bit ago, but I've made more progress, everything looks way more polished now and the board looks more like an actual physical board. There are still a lot of WIP sprites, but it's coming along nicely and I'm really proud of it so far.
I wanted to make a system that could generate map layouts similar to Inscryption, but there's not a lot of research on how that game's map generation works. Slay the Spire uses a similar looking map, but it's significantly more complicated and way overkill for my project.
I'm still going to continue to tweak it from here, but here's the gist so far:
Choosing the columns independently of each other makes things so much more simple, and I wanted to document the explanation in this post just in case anyone is looking to make something like this again in the future.
I wanted to showcase these menu animations. I'm kinda new to this but I spent a lot of time trying to get them to looks playful and have a lot of motion so they're very satisfying.
Let me know what you think, or if there's anything I can improve on. Off the top of my head I think the title could benefit from some bobbing up and down or rotation, the witch hat is too big for her head, and the purple wall behind the fireplace might have been a bad call, especially since you can see the edge during the camera movements.
