Genuinely torn if I should move to the data center because of layoffs

I currently work for one of the FAANG companies but I’m at a very low level.

I’m in corporate but make hourly. They have started making cuts in our department when it comes to projects but no one is laid off yet. My manager said, they are killing off projects and trying to move people around as much as possible.

I recently had an offer for the same company but for their data center, I turned it down because of the commute (1 hour & 15 mins) with traffic, without its 50 mins.

Now I’m honestly torn if I should go to the data center & just suck up the commute. I know for training I will be there 5 days a week then eventually go to 4 days 10 hours. I would want too but part of me is saying I should try to apply for another role similar to what I am doing now but no one is really hiring.

I got 2 interviews were I made it to the final round but I still didn’t get the job :(

Any advice? I’m also a female with a information system degree, and have 3 yrs of jr qa and 1 yr help desk experience

I’ve been taking methimazole 30mg a day for 3 weeks now. My period was suppose to start 5 days ago, but it still hasn’t arrived.

I’m having period cramps though and I feel like my discharges are a bit darker than usual. Did anyone experience this? I have a trip coming up and I initially thought my period would come in time but since taking the meds, it might’ve messed something up

I’ve been at my job for 5 years and this guy has joined as an internal transfer about a year ago.

At first it was great, he was willing to learn and eat your brain pretty much. He’s not technical. Knew nothing about code, debugging etc.

I realize, I’m helping him at work trying to figure out debugging issues. But when he talks to stakeholders, he’s always saying “oh yeah I figure it out” “yeah so I actually did this or that to fix it”…I’m sorry? I did that. I figure it out and told you but yet you take full credit?

My second issue is, he doesn’t get involve with other projects. He’s the same level as me, we have 3 associates so obviously they ask us a lot for help. Perfectly fine with me. He doesn’t help unless a manager is around or when overtime is involve.

My other issue, he thinks he knows it all. He asks me question when he’s running into issues, then I seconds I take a look and try to troubleshoot, he’s gives me an attitude. Tell me “I already did that!” But then when I try again it worked? So did you actually try? Lmao

He’s very annoying & it gets on my nerves. But everyone sees him as this nice guy. Which is what I originally thought, but he’s not.

He wants a promo but I think I deserve it more. He’s just loud and try to know what he’s saying in meetings.

I’m annoyed. He’s 31 Christian dude. Sometimes I feel like he thinks men are better and blah blah I’m 28F.

I was never like this with my other coworkers until he came.

Hi,

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism almost 3 weeks ago. For a year I was on a diet and running a lot, which dropped my weight from 157 to 123lb. But I lost 10 lbs without trying, I had stopped going to the gym and eating whatever. I was 113-114 when I was diagnosed.

Now I’ve been on methimazole for 3 weeks and I can feel myself gaining weight. I’m 116 but I’ve worked so hard to dropped my weight and it’s honestly sad that I’m thinking this but I don’t want to get fatter. I am planning to run and go on a diet again after my trip but I heard it hard to lose weight when on medication?

Did you guys gain weight being on methimazole?

28F Got diagnosed almost 2 weeks ago in the hospital with hyperthyroidism.

My first red flag was my right eye is much bigger than the other, it also feels swollen and it just looks like it popping out.

It’s almost 2 weeks now since I’ve been to the hospital but my eye bulging is still there. I would say it feels less swollen and sometimes my eyes are back to normal and sometimes it looks big.

I’m on 30mg of methamazole daily & 30mg of propranolol daily

Did anyone experience this? If so, how long does it take to get back to normal for you.

I went to the eye doctor twice but they did not find anything wrong with my eyes other than my thyroid being the issue. I’m looking for a third opinion soon just to make sure.
