Horror or horror adjacent solo journaling rpgs?

Hey all, recently discovered Solo Rpg Journaling was a thing and am currently exploring options available. I'd love some suggestions on more spooky vibed ones!

I know Thousand Year Old Vampire is a mainstay, but it is a bit pricey imo. I'll likely get it eventually but also looking for a little more variety. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Unsure if this is just a "me" problem, but more often than ever I feel like I keep playing against these unstoppable, highest damage output ever teams

Like, go around a corner and die instantly. The kinds of games where if a tank makes one mistake they just melt.

I dunno if its just a momentum problem and the other team gets it first or what is going on but everything feels so lethal to the point that I sometimes feel like there is nothing we can do to break the line.

Anyone else notice this lately? Or am I just climbing ranks and need to adjust?

So Exodites are practically unplayable on Bheta Decima, right?

Just wanna be sure I'm reading the rules correctly. Bheta Decima relies on operatives climbing gantries as well as a central terrain piece. As far as area around the killzone you can't climb, its extremely limited. There is also the massive hazard at ground level. But Exodites just straight up can't climb anything, right? It feels like the space available to them is practically non-existent on this map.

And then there's the question of how they'd perform on, say, a Gallowfall style map. Can they even enter through doors? Successfully maneuver through hallways?

I know these killzones are from last edition, but this kinda feels bad tbh. I know its a little unpopular, but I love Bheta Decima and use it frequently. I was eager to try out Exodites, but it just feels like you need so many specific conditions to even have them be playable.

So many of you hate 6v6 because youre playing it like 5v5

Man, 5v5 taught some of you bad habits. This hacked event has really shown me how invincible some of you think you are. Rather than viewing 6v6 stats as nerfed, view 5v5 as inflated.

Play cover more. Rely on your team more. Play smart. This is a different game mode. Treat it like one. Adjust your play style.

5v5 is where individuals shine. One player can completely change the course of a fight. Its much easier to solo carry. It prioritizes individual strength over careful cooperation.

6v6 is where you need to focus on your teammates as well. Things are more dangerous. You need the assistance of your teammates to shine.

They both have pros and cons. They both appeal to different kinds of players. But at the end of the day, they're different. Treat it as such. 5v5ers, stop playing it like 5v5.

Edit: Apparently none of you could make it past the first sentence without foaming at the mouth, so I've removed it. My intention was never to suggest you are bad and I am better. I still stand by the idea that 5v5 can be "safer" and more forgiving due to increased stats. It is different. That is all.

FOMO is an overused term and limited time items are not inherently bad

This is specifically pertaining to gaming. But nowadays, everyone cries at even the suggestion of something being a limited run or a company having a special item that you can only get for a limited time.

Why do you need everything immediately? Growing up, plenty of games had limited things. If we missed it, oh well. Yeah it sucks, but I missed it and that's just life. Why do you need every single little thing?

Its okay for a game to encourage engagement through limited time activities. Now they should always be reasonably achievable. But some people may miss out and that's okay.

The only reason FOMO is a "problem" is because people seem to have this idea that they deserve every release just because. And imo, that's such an immature playground mindset. If you truly want the thing, participate when its around. If you didn't play when it was around, then that sucks but that's life. In the grand scheme of your gaming experience, that cosmetic shouldn't make or break anything. And if the very idea of someone having something you don't angers you so much, seek therapy.

Anklyosaurus type dinosaur with a wide, flat shovel like nose/mouth

Hey all. Struggling to find a dinosaur I recently saw. It was shaped and armored like an anklyosuarus, but had this almost shovel nose/mouth area. Like looked almost like a daffy duck bill. I'm fairly certain it did have a bony tail used in a way similar to anklyosaurus as well.

Ringyo just started its kickstarter journey, and I am curious how others in the community feel about it

For the past couple years I have stayed far away from crowdfunded board games. The few I have gotten are usually overdeisnged or never come to real fruition in a way that follows the original vision.

Recently though, I saw an ad for this game. Ive also begun to notice kickstarter seems to moving towards more of a "secure your copy in the first wave" rather than traditional crowdfunding projects. A lot of this stuff is already made, we just get in on the ground floor while they see how big initial interest is.

I want to also emphasize I am in no way affiliated with the developers or creators or have any connections to the project. I just wanted to try and get some thoughts from other gamers.

This is being made by Paverson Games, who I have no experience with. A cursory watch of the breakdown videos seems to imply there is a group board which has some important aspects, but a lot of the gameplay seems to take place in a sort of solitaire-esque way.

I don't really know what to think. Its a cool theme and I enjoy the way the pieces look. But I don't know Paverson. Do they make good games? Is anyone else interested in Ringyo? What are some thoughts on this one? Is it worth paying attention to or just another kickstarter money grab that'll sit on the shelf?

Recently entered a custom card tourney for fun. This was Week 1: Design a 7+ cost card

Forgot the holo stamp here (so embarassing). But this was a 5 week tourney and we have reached the end. My team did not do spectacularly but I am proud of the designs I came up with. Here was my entry for Week 1: Design a 7+ cost card

Is there a trick to taking decent screenshots on PS5?

I'd love to show off my dinos in some of the discord servers I am a part of, but I am struggling to take fun looking shots.

I read that really the best way for console is to record gameplay and take screenshots from the recording. This is easy enough but my issue is the positioning and angles.

It seems the dino follows the right stick to the point where if you turn the camera to the front, your dino is trying to look behind them. This makes it really hard to get a shit where they look straight ahead. There's also the issue of the UI being present.

Is there a way around this sort of thing? Or do I just fiddle with camera spins until I hit the perfect moment? Will I always need to crop my photos to remove the UI on the bottom? Any advice is appreciated.

With the focus on fleshing out existing factions as well as turning some subfactions into fully fledged factions, when can we expect news on unreleased factions?

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Hebrew Knights but am growing increasingly concerned it may well be a year or two before I see them.

While I appreciate fleshing out assassins and Sacred Affliction and turning them into full factions, I can't help but feel like newer factions are being left out. I can understand wanting more from things already present in game, but at the end of the day they're already present in game.

How many subfactions are going to be getting this treatment? Will we not be seeing brand new factions as soon because of it?

Is there any word on future release cycles? I know wanting to avoid a road map is the safest option but some word on new faction releases would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all! Curious how other Iron Sultanate players are outfitting their alchemists.

From what I've been reading, popping a sniper rifle and not much else on them seems to be a popular way to do it, but I personally hate leaving so many unique items behind.

Has anyone tried a flamethrower alchemist with their special armor and incendiary grenades? Doing this would essentially allow you to have a weapon with both fire and gas/shrapnel. Can the alchemists have enough survivability to make this work? I also thought maybe throwing on the Cloak of Alamut would help give them some survivability.

If you are also running other builds, I'd love to hear them!

Not sure how correct it is as I just did what the app allowed. But would love some feedback as I am still new to actual gameplay. I also know IS just got a rules update today but Trench Companion does not reflect that yet.

Pretty much just made using models I have so I know its likely not super optimized.
