Which neighborhood should I live in?

I’m 23F and I currently live in the Spyglass area. I have no complaints really, right on Greenbelt trail, a mile from Zilker, 10 mins ish from Downtown, S Lamar, and South Congress.

I’m kind of just curious since this is the only place in Austin I’ve lived in. I guess I wished I could walk to more things like coffee shops or stores. there’s a taco deli and really expensive grocery store.

Again, I’m just curious of what other people my age favor in neighborhoods around here!

Please leave lots of details on why you love where you live!

Need help dealing with neighbor.

My neighbor left a note today saying they can hear me having sex and was just “letting me know.” I am absolutely mortified and I feel just horrible. I know the walls are kind of thin with it being a really old building but I had no idea it was this bad for them. They also said they can hear me talking on the phone and stuff? Fucking creepy. I feel watched in my own home. I know it isn’t really anyone’s fault, and they were kind in the note.

Tonight I was watching tv in my room and they kept knocking on the wall. It sounded a little off so maybe they were like nailing something?? No idea. It is 10 pm which I guess is late to some people (neighbors are pretty young), but I had the volume pretty low. I am just so extremely uncomfortable in my own home. I have no idea what to do.

UPDATE
Thank you all for being so helpful! I left another note with my phone number and she has been incredibly nice. She said she was actually nailing something into the wall when I was watching TV (which I initially thought before I got paranoid).

We are both young and new to the area, so ironically enough loud sex may lead me to make my first friend here.

How to handle loneliness after college?

I graduated college in May, and have been working my full time job for a little over a month now. I love my actual job and my team, but I live in another state. I do get to work in the office of their other location, but pretty much everyone there is like 10-20 years older than me (I’m 22F). The people that are my age are men and work on another floor. I feel like such an outcast and just so horribly lonely. I have no friends in this new state/city, and I never talk to anyone.

I don’t know what to do. Every Sunday night I cry absolutely dreading the week. I am genuinely trying my best to stay positive and accept that this is temporary. This is just where I am in life, and I need to accept and recognize the good. I have an amazing and loving boyfriend. I am beyond grateful for him, but he is all I have. I am pretty active and exercise a lot, and I am looking to soon join a fitness club or something.

But right now I am spiraling. As much as I am trying to keep my head up and stay focused on the good in my life, the loneliness is overpowering. I am losing this mental battle. What should I do? Am I normal for feeling like this? I feel like something is so wrong with me and I just don’t know how to feel wanted and fulfilled when I spend 8 hours a day in an office where no one will even tell me good morning back.

Honestly even in college I struggled with feeling alone. I have a couple friends, but they have whole friend groups that I just never got to be a part of. As much as I try to tell myself it’s just life, I can’t help the feeling that something is just horribly wrong with me. It was easier to fight this feeling off in college because I have a lot of like acquaintances I would run into often in like social settings and bars. Now I have no one I know and I just feel like I have no purpose frankly.

I try so hard to accept my life as it is and be grateful, but I just feel so alone in my struggles.

Is it ok to quit my first FT job after 6 months?

I’m 22F, and I started my full time job about a month ago. I was interning with this same group/company for 8 months before, then graduated college and started FT. I work in a different state than my team is in, but out of my state’s office. This office doesn’t even have the division I am in, so I have no one to talk to about anything. It is very difficult and annoying to work and not be in contact with my team. I love my team and I am so grateful so have such kind and strong leaders to look up to, but it gets depressing being alone in another office all of the time. No one in my office has a lick of understanding of what I do, and none of them are my age or friendly at all. I am extremely extroverted, and this job is already kind of depressing. I feel awful for wanting to leave. I was going to wait about a year and a half, but my Mom is big in the corporate world and said just 6 months would be okay if I gave a huge notice and was kind about it. I love the industry I’m in but this job is so isolating and lonely. I need to be around an actual team at least sometimes. I also feel like I’m missing a lot of learning opportunity, which is so important for my age and stage of life. It’s a huge insurance brokerage, and it is extremely technical and tedious. Little mistakes cause huge disasters, and I need to learn hands on.

How do I push through this next year?
