Should Mark Pope and Kentucky fear the NCAA's wrath if they add Mark Mitchell?
An NCAA Tournament selection committee member talked to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 and shared a thought about how he and his fellow committee members could handle this situation. Here is what the committee member told Goodman: “The NCAA may not be able to threaten teams that use players deemed ineligible by the NCAA, but I can penalize them, and so can other committee members if they want, whether it’s by seeding or even not including them in the field.”
The NCAA committee is genuinely unhinged and threatening to majorly penalize every team that plays a class of 22’ player. They’re just a bunch of control freaks fighting an absurd battle.
With exhibition games right around the corner, here’s a throwback to when D2 Lenoir-Rhyne beat Louisville by 10.

on3.comWhy college basketball’s international player pipeline is stuck in NCAA limbo
“Now the status of a long list of newcomers who played professionally overseas, particularly those who earned a paycheck, is up in the air. Some are awaiting clearance from the NCAA before moving to the United States, forcing them to miss summer practices.”
Players like Arkansas’s Miikka Muurinen are having to sit out of exhibition games and still aren’t cleared.
Wonder how this is going to affect the upcoming season since the NCAA sent out guidance on May 8th reiterating that international athletes who had been paid above “actual and necessary expenses” would not be eligible to play college basketball.
