Please guide me with potential studio development path.

Hi all

Here is my current home setup that I have in our garage conversion/spare room.

It's done well so far, I've recorded two albums in here (I make instrumental rock music with electronic/80s synth backing) but I've sold some old equipment and am in a position to make some improvements.

I'm wondering what your recommendations would be. The studio is also my WFH office so it's a busy space.

Current kit:

Motu M2 interface

Oxygen 61 Midi controller

Krk rokit 5s

Line 6 helix LT

NI Maschine mikro MK3

Various guitars

Ableton Suite

The PC has an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, 32gig of RAM and a 3060ti so it's plenty for what I need and use.

My immediate thoughts are an 88 key midi controller and speaker stands to get the speakers off the desk and away from the screens.

The room has no dedicated sound conditioning but there's plenty of furniture and carpet so I'm not sure if adding panels would do much?

If this was your setup, where would you look to make improvements with a budget of say £1500?

Tempted by a hard synth too or maybe some soft synth package? I like ambient evolving sounds and pads to go under my guitar melodies.

TIA lovely people!

Potentially getting a 2025 SE Floyd this week. How have owners of the model found it?

As the title suggests, I may be getting a "new old stock" SE Floyd this week, I've not got my hands on it yet to test it out so I thought I'd ask the community what their thoughts and findings on the model are after a year of use.

I currently play two ibanez prestiges with the original edge, how does the Floyd 1000 hold up?

I've got a PRS core cu22 and an SE custom 24 piezo as well so im aware of the general PRS feel.

Are heart upgrades pointless?

Ok hear me out.

I'm doing a playthrough with my five year old (who, bless him, takes a lot of damage) and watching him play has made me notice something:

When we had four hearts, we would take a heart of damage from lava or spikes, four hits and dead.

Now we have eight hearts, and each hit does two hearts damage. Four hits and dead.

So that leads me to ask, is the game "rigged" where having more hearts doesn't actually give you more health, or is it just a coincidence that we are further in the game now so hazards do more damage?

Has anyone used club collaborator?

I've been Stuck on 0 percent for twenty minutes.

If this isn't the way to go to make a club website that integrates well with the RIBI interface, I'd be very grateful if anyone can tell me how I can edit the clubs standard "webpage" that is generated on the main rotary site.

Picking up a used 2021 ID3 on Friday, any tips or tricks, things I should know?

As the title suggests.

I'm moving from a VW polo into a used ID3 through a dealership. I test drove it and enjoyed it thoroughly but is there anything to look out for? Apparently the controls don't light up at night? I didn't drive it at night so couldn't see that obviously.

It also had the battery recall and was fixed, all the paperwork for that is present and it's just been serviced.

60L tank overrun with green hair algae. Nothing working yet it's been six months .

Hi all,

I have two tanks, an 80L which is stable as anything and zero algae problems, and a 60L which is just overrun with green hair algae which I cannot get rid of.

The tank was unstable from the first build and after a year I broke it down and started again. This time I went for aquasoil, being told it was full of nutrients and plants should grow no problems.

Ever since the tank cycled I have had issues with algae. Every time I go to the aquarium shop for advice I'm told different things. For example I've been told I have too many nutrients, too few nutrients, too many nutrients but none on the water column, too much light, not enough light, too many fish, not enough fish.

The stock:

10 spotted rasbora

10 green rasbora

Two ornamental snails

Two assassin snails

Some invader snails (hence the assassins)

Two dwarf sucking catfish

One Siamese algae eater (purchased to combat the algae)

7 Amano shrimp

Nitrates 0, phosphates 0 pH7, KH1, nitrites 0 ammonia 0

I've tried adding plants but they don't grow they just sit there or they get covered in algae and die. (The grass you see in the photo was added at the start and has never gotten bigger than that, it got thick but then covered in algae and I had to cut it with scissors)

I've added the pond weed as the aquarium shop suggested it to absorb nutrients, it's growing but nothing else does.

Lights are full spectrum 8 hours a day in two 4 hour sessions. Non adjustable intensity as they are beginner ones.

Filtration system is an Oase thermosmart 100.

Ive tried a 7day blackout, I've added more plants, I've tried an anti algae liquid treatment, I've tried liquid CO2. Each time I tried something I just changed that one thing for a couple of weeks to see if it helped. Nothing has helped.

Each weekend I am just pulling huge globs of algae out of the tank.

Please, what am I doing wrong? I want the fish to be happy and healthy and for the plants to grow and thrive.

Thank you.

Edit* I perform a water change every week of ten litres.

I feel like personal shopping/delivery has ruined the in-store experience

Firstly, this isn't a dig at the employees. I worked for Tesco before and I know what it's like trying to do too many tasks with too little time.

Whenever I go to Tesco now the aisles are totally full of personal shoppers picking delivery items. In-store customers have to fight for both space and stock, and it feels like the shelf stocking has been totally abandoned in favour of fulfilling customer orders. When I worked for Tesco if my area had been in the state I see every shop I would have been in big trouble.

I live in a rural area, our Tesco shops are small and the aisles are narrow. You often get two delivery shoppers in the same spot and they take up the entire aisle. It makes me frustrated and ultimately want to shop elsewhere.

Whinge over, so how could Tesco improve the customer experience (if they wanted to).

Logistically it's difficult. As a customer It'd be best if deliveries were picked from the warehouse. However, that would mess up the stock rotation and potentially cause health and safety issues with the number of people working out back where there's often active deliveries/forklift/working at height etc.

It also can't be fun for the employees, who are undoubtedly under time pressure to fulfil order packing before the delivery slot, having to wait for old Mrs Miggins to decide which nectarine she wants.

Would the conclusion be for Tesco to make delivery fulfilment centres away from stores? Would that even be desirable or profitable?

Let's discuss.

Finally, I acknowledge that other supermarkets have this issue, I'm a Tesco customer which is why I'm bringing it up here.

Peace x
