Candy I got from an Asian stand at con!

It came in this wrapper and looked a bit like the second image, but it was more yellow than brown.

It was seriously magic, opened my airways like crazy. I couldn't identify the flavor, it was like menthol, maybe even ginger, eucalyptus, or tea, I really don't know. When I got to the core it was really sour.

Pixar Renderman non commercial beta

Recently, at a convention, there was a talk about Pixar's RenderMan—specifically focusing on XPU, their latest version, which has reportedly been released in beta. I need to render things that would normally take quite a long time.

Is it worth downloading the non-commercial version of RenderMan to get faster renders, or won't there be a significant difference compared to Maya's default renderer? Also, is XPU actually available in the version you can download from the RenderMan non-commercial website yet?

Looking for a compact SLR, was thinking Nikon F, suggestions?

Hi! I started using film cameras as a teenager and I've always used point and shoot, focus free cameras. My latest treasure has been a lomo aparat, and I LOVE it, but I want to try something more manual.

I've been looking at second hand Nikon f50, f60 and f80. I'm a bit worried I might not get used to carrying a big camera (body + objective).

Any tips on objectives that do the job and aren't a monstruosity in size?

Or if you have any other camera model recommendations I'd really appreciate it!

Are alsa and flixbus safe for a solo traveling woman?

Will be traveling alone in July and I'm a bit worried about having to sleep next to a stranger, what's the general experience? Anything I should have in mind/prepare for?
