I'm not quite sure what I should be searching for, but I wanted to know if there were low voltage light switches that could avoid running 110 in-wall for the switch, but control the 110 boxes and lighting.

I'm sure my description is horrendous. Basically, avoid large multi-gang boxes but also avoid screens. Some sort of tactile switches or buttons that control regular lighting.

It's not a bait post, but as someone who's binging Pointless on YouTube (live in Canada), it seems odd to me that there's no same-sex couples introduced...

Is it just 'not the place' to self-identify or uncommon for quiz programs?

This is mostly searching for ideas - and perhaps offering for those who might be interested. My grand aunt was a Lieutenant Nursing Sister in the Canadian Army from 1943-1946.

Stationed at Chorley Park in Ontario initially, she also served in the UK, North Africa and Italy, she had a significant trove of photographs that have eventually come to me.

I'm trying to digitize them - primarily to add to her ancestry record and because they're deteriorating. What I'd like to find is a group who may be looking for photographs from this period, or who may have a relative who served around this time.

It's a long shot, I know! Especially with no names attached!

Are there subs, groups, resources... ? Does anyone have suggestions?

Kind of a cool story, and the two old ladies at the centre are still alive so I'll be a bit vague :)

My husband had a DNA match show up on his mother's side in Ancestry. I usually check all of these to fit into his tree and since it showed her as a grand aunt it should have been easy to connect. Or I thought that at least.

He shares 788 cM with her. His mother shares 1433 cM and his grandmother shares 2045 cM.

It started out a bit odd because his grandmother is 100 years old and I was surprised that her sister - whose name I had never heard of - was still with us to take a DNA test. Both of her children show up as well - as first cousins of his mother, cementing the grand aunt match.

Only... the family tree shows her as a 1st cousin of the grandmother. A child of the grandmother's aunt, still alive at 98 and living less than 25 miles from each other. The child's birth certificate - also available due to the age - shows the same thing: the two ladies are first cousins.

The birth certificate was a home-birth registration 2 months after the fact, and records the child as illegitimate as the 'parents' only married 15 days after the birth.

The DNA tells a very different story - unless I'm missing something. Is there a scenario where she could show up with so much cM matching? Could the father of one be the father of both, while the mothers are sisters? Does that explain the high cM matching?

Or is the obvious answer the easiest? One sister gave the other sister her child.

Edit: The great-grandmother in this scenario had children every year from 1919 through 1932, with the exception of no child in 1928 - the year the "1st cousin" was born. The 1st Cousin would be 8.5 months from the 1927 birth and 9 months before the 1929 birth. (also, I can't even imagine....)

Edit 2: I think a picture is emerging here - and not one I had considered I guess.

With the cM and segments, and my husband's matches to both g-Grandmother and g-Grandfather descendants, I think the most logical scenario (the only logical scenario??) is that g-Grandfather and g-Grandaunt had a child together?

I'm surprised I'm still surprised by anything anymore. However, here's the scenario.

A board member is concerned that the parking space next to them is being used by unauthorized AirBNB rental. That has been proven false and the variety of vehicles proven to be in use by the unit tenants via rental slips and agreements. No AirBNB present either.

The member, who is part of a sub committee, has requested that onsite staff photograph the various vehicles and their state of parking for a 30 day period under the concept that they are "encroaching on other spots".

The impacted resident is a tenant, as mentioned. The owner of the unit is not involved.

Is there a risk here of action against the condo board?

Unexpected CABG in December (angiogram to surgery in 5 days). Planned triple, surgeon did 4 while he was in. No secondary items (like COPD, diabetes, weight, etc) but lifelong high cholesterol.

It really does take months to come back from it. Now on metropolol, ASA, and atorvastatin. Give yourself time if you're recovering, but make sure you're exercising!

Just looking for the best option for French in TO - I used to be enamoured with Le Select but I hear it's gone downhill (Is it better?). Other stellar options for French - this is a business dinner.
