Encountered this area-wide phenomenon recently of runners in Grandview (which is apparently the entire suburb) running in the street. Both ways, against the traffic and not, young and old.

Perfectly good sidewalks? Nah. Choosing to instead run in the street, not move over for traffic, sometimes three-four people wide. What is the reason here? "Safety" I'm guessing? (For the runner, not the person driving). Even though Grandview's sidewalks are nice and it's illegal to run in the street when there's a usable sidewalk?
