I would be another person if GTA 3 had never been published

Sometimes the small things in life make bigger changes than you would think. Yesterday's post about MSX got me thinking. GTA 3 got me hooked on drum n bass in 2001 and in a broader sense this was the moment that changed my life. I started DJing, got deeper in the DnB scene, became a musician and took an entirely different path in life. Today I still make music and also play GTA3 every couple of months. Some things just simply never change. I can say I wouldn't be who I am without GTA3. Thanks Rockstar and thanks Rob Playford!

Strom vor dem Haus? Kein Problem, haben wir.

Dauerinstallation vor einem Museum in Leipzig. Quasi Kunst.

i marked the different spaces on the fandom website, the actual useable space for information is a joke. not to mention the auto playing video that has scroll-driven layout transition and follows you while scrolling away from it.

i hate the fact, that every visit on a website nowadays requires tons of clicks and time to actually get to the information you want. no I don't want a monthly payed membership, I don't want to be on your newsletter, no I don't want to create an account. I just want to know one information and then never visit your shitty site again!

me after digging up hundreds of salvaged data and learning every blueprint at the expedition only to not get anything of it transferred to my main save

thought the discovered blueprints get transferred like the bases at the end... I should have read about this first...

short reminder, that there is an official GTA2 short movie with an awesome soundtrack. this and MSX FM from GTA 3 brought me to DnB, the Houser brothers had some good connections to Moving Shadow

sorry for the quality, its the only video I found where the music was not cut off

Bead dress and jewellery from our collection. GER and ENG description

I thought we need some more photos of Egyptian bead dresses, since there are only two on the internet that keep getting reposted. I am volunteering at the museum, if anyone has further questions I can try to get more in-depth informations.

Found in: Aniba

Age: 2200-2400 years

Current location: Ägyptisches Museum - Georg Steindorff - Leipzig, Germany

Description text (ENG below):

GER:

ORIGINALE IN MASSEN: FAYENCEPERLEN

Vom 4. bis ins 2. Jt. v.

ENG:

MASS-PRODUCED ORIGINALS: FAIENCE BEADS

From the 4th to the 2nd millennium BC, Egyptian culture did not employ textile dyeing for a long period. Instead, color was introduced through faience jewelry crafted from thousands of "original" individual beads.

The colors blue and blue-green were associated with concepts viewed positively in Egypt, such as growth and regeneration.

Combinations of these beads were regarded as imitations of plant life. Strung faience beads played a significant role in body ornaments—such as broad collars, anklets, and bead nets—throughout Egyptian history. Whenever soil from settlement excavations is sifted, thousands of faience beads invariably appear among the finds. These beads were produced by molding a mixture of quartz sand and copper oxide around a thread; during firing, this simple process created the channel for the thread within the finished bead.

This is probably not very interesting for the most of you but to all DJs and producers out there: I never noticed that the shows intro contains the "amen break" till I saw this video. although 90% of my hole selection is based on exactly this sample. classical blind for me

background info: the song "Amen Brother" by The Winstons contains a drum part that became the most used sample of all time. building the fundament for many hip hop tunes and even the whole genre of drum and bass/jungle music. all those genres I am playing for years now but sometimes you are just to close to something to see the obvious.

since the game got really huge over the years and it is sometimes hard to keep track of all the games mechanics and functions: I totally missed it and filled up three storage boxes until I saw this. I needed 355 hours of playing until I understood.
