No split, uneven pressure. Turn 10.

Feel the pressure mostly in my nose, and right cheekbone. Almost no pressure in left cheekbone. Ortho doesn’t seem to think that is an issue. Post split we are doing slow turn protocol once a week, will that maybe help normalize the pressure so that I expand symmetrically? That’s the main concern.

Also is the nose pressure indicative of being close to split? Ortho originally said it should split in 6-8 turns. We also did corticopunctures.

Pimples on Suture post Marpe install

I had corticopunctures done. It’s been almost a week since install. No pain at this point but I started feeling these two bumps. The anterior one is pretty small but I still feel it with the tongue. The posterior one between the screws is a lot more prominent, still no pain. Should I let my ortho know?

I did take a 5 day course of antibiotics after install.

Is my suture fused or not yet?

I know it’s faint. But like I see a line. Also it seems super asymmetrical? Will this be a problem?

MechE student dropping pre-med. Can I get anything for all the classes I took outside my major?

Basically I took all the premed prereqs. Would like something with my degree to say I took these classes that don’t even count towards my degree. Interested in biomechanics so there is some relevance I guess. There isn’t a minor for bio just the pre-health cert which I’m pretty sure was meant to just fulfill the bsa minor requirement. Any advice appreciated.

TIL that impacted wisdom teeth can be uprighted using coil springs…

Regret the changes in my face post wisdom teeth extraction. Was told by several orthodontists, dentists, and oral surgeons to extract. The patient in the attached article had lower impacted teeth exactly as mine but were able to be uprighted

I wish more orthodontists were focused on preserving what we have.

Can tongue posture prevent dropdown from marpe?

Looking at 3-4 mm of expansion. Main concern is asymmetry and dropdown. At 3-4 mm are these major risks? Even if not are there other things that can be done to prevent dropdown? My appliance doesn’t have hooks for a face mask only little nubs for elastics on the molar bands.

Wide smiles aren’t inherently attractive. The facial features from developing a wide smile are attractive

I think all these 10-12 teeth smiles are uncanny ash. People see celebs with wide smiles and associate wide smiles with being attractive. I think it’s just that those who developed those wide smiles during growth also developed more pronounced facial features. The smiles itself are not contributing imo. I’ve been seeing so many people with MSE chasing this overly wide smile and it looks awful. Thoughts?

40mm palate. Do I rly need this?

Sorry for the saliva on the MSE. I got some crowding as you can see and my bite is pretty bad, but I don’t have breathing issues currently, and not particularly conscious about my teeth. I just don’t want to look uncanny after this treatment. Screws haven’t been installed yet. Ortho didn’t look at CBCT but I had one and the top teeth are coming straight down with imw of 40mm and the bottom teeth are angled in a bit. 40mm at the lowest point and 34 mm where they meet the upper teeth.

Did it stabilize or is it going to keep getting worse? 14, 17, 20

Started having hairloss at 15. It felt pretty aggressive then, but I feel like it has slowed down although I do also feel like my hair is less dense and coarse as it used to be when I was 14. 1st image is 14, next two are 17 and last images are at 20. I’m grateful to have hair but I still worry about this so any perspective is appreciated. Ive used minoxidil on and off but consistently for months at a time. I do think it thickened the hair a bit but not drastically. I’ve tried using it on my beard area as well for almost a year consistently and got mediocre results. All that to say I don’t think I’m a hyper responder to it, but I did feel my heart rate and anxiety go up during use so if it’s not necessary I’d like to stop using it.

BIO 206L vs BME 311 vs ECE 411

Slightly unusual comparison. ECE major looking to transfer to BME. If I get into BME I’ll take 311 and BIO 206L as well. Otherwise I’ll take ECE 411 and BIO 206L. But I’m a little concerned if it will be too much for my schedule. So I’m wondering if I should drop BIO 206L if I don’t get BME.

Would be
ECE 312, 411, 313 M340L, BIO 206L

BME will accept all of these classes for substitute or as electives so even if I don’t get in this semester, taking these classes will be useful. But do you think I should drop 411 or BIO 206L based on workload? I have 411 with Schwartz.

Can I live with this bite or will it cause problems?

Was told to do marpe. Freaked out and cancelled operation today. Planning to get braces removed as well. Doesn’t seem like I have other options though and this would have been the best time for marpe.

Registered for the class during summer. Says Hybrid. The prof said I need to come in once a week. Have an internship so not sure if I can do both.

I already have some asymmetry, my lower jaw projects more to my right. I’m also 20M so I’m concerned if I’m doing marpe too late and may experience complications that could lead to asymmetry. I have a slightly narrow upper and mild underbite which you can kind of see from the pictures, which is why my ortho is recommending marpe, which I get on in a week. I got a big nose too, so I’m concerned about that getting worse or even tilting to one side. Extremely worried. If anyone can provide perspective pls do.
