What if Project Zomboid had the cozy vibes of Stardew Valley? This is In the Van, our indie survival game! Our very first demo will be out in August!

Clean your van after a zombie loot run… or else!

I’m making a game where your van becomes your home in the zombie apocalypse.

If you leave your van dirty, zombies will have an easier time tracking you down.
Cleaning every day sounds like a pain! but maybe, that’s just part of your new apocalypse routine.

In my zombie survival game, your RV is a mobile base you can build inside and out

You'll be able to manage and customize four main vehicle types, each with its own survival trade-offs: Camper Vans (Class B), Class C Motorhomes, Class A RVs, and Skoolies.

A playable demo will be coming out in a few months, so please check out the vibe on our Steam Page if you're interested!

Developing a zombie survival indie game focused on vanlife. Is this RV lineup complete enough?

I'm thinking of implementing various types of RVs, including camper vans (Class B), Class C motorhomes, Class A RVs, and Skoolies.

Do you think this lineup covers enough ground for a vanlife survival game, or should I add more specific types of vehicles?

I want to make the vehicle mechanics as realistic as possible, so I need your expert knowledge on this

A cozy but eerie thrift shop in my indie game!

Cozy but eerie! I really love this kind of vibe, and my game will be full of cozy-but-eerie places like this.
Does it still feel cozy enough, though?

(just in case if you're interested in my game Here's our Steam Page! )

I added a thrift shop to my cozy apocalypse survival game

While building this world, I really enjoy adding places I personally love in real life. (they’ll probably be covered in blood soon enough though.) This time, I added a thrift shop.
I’d love to hear what kind of quiet, oddly cozy places people enjoy finding in survival (or even open-world) games.

Hi everyone!

We’re a two-person indie team working on In the Van, a post-apocalyptic open-world survival game where your van is your only safe home.

This is still very early WIP, but we recently made our first devlog after 2 months of development 👉My Devlog Link

When we started, I didn’t know much about pixel art, so a lot of the past 2 months has been learning, testing, and slowly improving while building the game.

Our goal is to grow this into a survival world where players can make their own stories scavenging outside, returning to their van, upgrading their mobile home, and trying to survive in their own way.

I’ll leave the YouTube link in the comments!

I’ve been drawing locations for my post-apocalyptic survival game, and just imagining what could happen there already feels fun.

My pixel art still has a long way to go, but I’m enjoying building the world piece by piece.

What unique locations would you like to see in a post-apocalyptic survival game?

Hi everyone!
We’re a two-person indie team making In the Van, a cozy post-apocalyptic survival sim.

There’s still a lot we need to develop, but we made this first-look teaser to get some early feedback.

Our goal is to mix hardcore survival outside with cozy van life inside! scavenging, coming home, cooking, crafting, and preparing for the next day.

Does the teaser feel cozy enough, or does it come across as too tense?
