I found my review of The Testaments

It says “Loved it! When the sequel to the Handmaid’s Tale was announced I was shocked. I finished this book all in one go. The first book gave us an open ended cliffhanger but this book gives us a sold happy ending and a more sympathetic look at Aunt Lydia. I’m so glad this book ended the way it did but also gave us a bigger look at how all women—even high ranking girls—are heavily oppressed in different ways. Highly recommend it.”

Do any of you watch The Way Home?

I’ve been watching this Hallmark show called The Way Home. I realized I’m obsessed with time travel narratives. Outlander and TWH are so different (genre, time travel rules) but it scratches that same itch. I was wondering if there’s any cross-fans of both series.

Just started S2; Claire is hilarious

Claire and Jaime going to France is hilarious because they’re trying to start a new life but also change history. Not exactly relaxing or a new life.

God is not bound to linear time

I always try to remember that and pray for people, events, and experiences that happened in the past. God can offer comfort to my younger self.

If someone uses a phone glucose monitor, are they locked in to that one phone?

Let’s say someone you know needs to monitor their sugar levels but lost their phone. Can you download the app on another phone and have it work?

I went to a black Catholic parish

It was my first time going to this type of liturgy. I am black on my father’s side but his family is Baptist so I grew up with regular novus ordo Mass; however, going to this Mass reminded me of the Baptist services I attended as a small child.

Liturgy of Hours in space

How would I go about praying morning and evening prayer in space? This is purely hypothetical but if I got a chance for space flight I’d take it in a heartbeat.

I’m a novice sister and I just had a meeting with our superior and they voted after several incidents (I take full responsibility for my fault and involvement in them) that I was not a good fit for this community.

So I am leaving. It’s been two years and I’ll be a lay person again. I feel strange about it. It’s kind of scary. I haven’t had a real job in that amount of time and I’m having to move in with my parents in another state away from all my professional connections.

Well. I just wanted to get that off my chest. I’m not allowed to talk openly about it to anyone in my community.
