364 lbs / 165 kg x 2!

Hit a nice rep PR today at 97% of my max squat (375 lbs / 170 kg!)

I was nervousssss but little did I know I had nothing to worry about, hence the enthusiasm after my first rep. I was like, “Bet…we definitely have another one!” 😆

My right side spotter thought I was going for a single, so he grabbed the bar early by mistake. Luckily, I work well under pressure and just re-braced and made that shit move :) (Also a reminder to always brief your spotters before a big lift - a bad spotting experience can make or break a PR attempt.)

⏸️ bench volume PR | 176 lbs / 80 kg

Can’t you tell it’s the final week of my training block?! Lol. Fatigue’s been kicking in, yet we still managed to hit a volume PR of 3 x 4 on paused bench today. Typically, my last set (this video) is my best set, but that last rep was a grinderrrrr lol. I’ll take it!

Pendulum squats 🥵

Who invented these?!! 😭 I can’t get through a set without talking to myself.

Anyway…I’m still doing them 😅 I’ve never felt my quads light up this much. It’s wild how even one plate feels like 💀 on these.

The lore: I like to collaborate on my program with my coach, so I asked him to add goblet squats as a squat accessory. We ended up settling on pendulums since they’re easier to progressively overload over time. Been pushing them for a little over a block now. Looking forward to the strength and hypertrophy gains 🤞🏽

Weighted dips PR | 38 lbs/17.5 kg x 10

I swear, my strength surprises me every day 😅. My gym friend bullied me into doing +15 kg for my first set and I ended up doing 12 reps. My rule of thumb is if I can do 12 reps, it’s too easy lol (this obviously depends on the goal). Added 2.5 kgs (making it ~38 lbs total) and we got a nice set of 10! Looks like a plate for about 4-6 reps isn’t too far away 🤔

You might be wondering what’s the deal with the lipgloss - I have a superstition that if I apply lipgloss before a set to feel like a bad b*tch, then I will produce a quality set…looks like it rung true for this PR 💅🏽

336 lbs / 152.5 kg x 2

Crazy how this went from being my 1RM to deload week weight for a double. Liked how this set moved 😊 ~2.2x BW squat

Weighted pull up PR

Asked coach for more calisthenics-based work on my program and he added weighted pull-ups (AMRAPs).

Been doing them with +20 lbs recently and hit 7 reps today 🥳. I was stuck at 6 for a bit, so I’m celebrating this win.

High bar paused squats | 314 lbs/142.5 kg

I requested high bar + paused squats on my program, and my coach delivered ✨ Hit these for a 3 x 4 today. Been enjoying these so far :)

*The only downside to these is switching my brain to set up with a low bar technique on my primary days (and vice versa), lol

396 lbs / 180 kg x 2 | Rep PR

So happy to be in my off season 😌.

Proud of today’s rep PR of 396 lbs / 180 kg. Crazy how this is 95% of my max deadlift attempt.

First Nationals in the books!

Nationals debut!

Went 8/9 :)

Squats:
341 lbs/155 kg
358 lbs/162.5kg
375 lbs/170kg (Platform PR—sooooo happy about this! I previously hit it in training with questionable depth at RPE 9.5.)

Got all white lights for squats so I’m celebrating that 🥳

Bench:
181 lbs/82.5kg (misgrooved)
181/82.5kg (retook it)
187 lbs/85 kg (platform PR match)
Bench wasn’t feeling the strongest yesterday so we played it safe. Would’ve loved to hit my gym PR on the platform (198lbs/90kg), but all good—next time!

Deadlifts (the star of the show)
375 lbs/170 kg
402 lbs/182.5 kg (PR match)
418 lbs/190 kg (ATPR at 2.7x BW with more in the tank! Didn’t expect it to be this smooth 🥹)

Total: 979 lbs/445 kg (up 33 lbs from my last meet)
BW: 155 lbs (75kg class)
DOTS: 446

Really happy with my performance, especially on squats and deads. Got invited to compete at the Olympia in Sept but I’m still debating that. Time to continue getting stronger during this offseason 💪🏽

Final SBD day heading into Nats

The work is done! Taper next week and then NYC✈️CHI

Squat: 160 kg / 353 lbs
Backdowns (rep/volume PR): 142.5 kg / 314 lbs
Bench: 85 kg / 187 lbs
Deadlift: 152.5 kg / 336 lbs (secondary; 177.5 kg / 391 lbs earlier this week on my primary day)

This block was intentionally sub-max. We really pushed intensity the previous one, so the focus for this one is to go into meet day feeling fresh—an underrated approach that has worked really well for me!

Appreciate all the support leading up to this. Still hard to believe I've only been powerlifting for about a year and a half and am already headed to the national stage. I had a solid prep with a short turnaround time and am confident (yet humble) that it will show up on the platform–would love to keep my 9/9 streak going!

Unexpected Pull-up PR

Finished squats and bench and was somehow still feeling fresh (shocking), so I decided to see where my pull-ups were at. Surprised myself with a 12 piece for 2 sets 😳 (only posted the first). Not long ago, 10 was a bit of a stretch. Feeling good about where my athleticism is headed :)

Nats prep: final heavy single before taper week

10 days out from Nationals 😳

391 lbs/177.5 kg moved wayyyy easier than expected, considering 402 lbs/182.5 kg is my PR!

The previous block was about pushing intensity. This one is about holding technique, staying efficient, and controlling fatigue into meet day.

I’ve been blessed to have an amazing prep, especially with a relatively short turnaround from States. May the strength that’s meant to be there on meet day show up 🤞🏽

Dips x 12

Hi! Y’all might know me as a powerlifter, but I’m also a calisthenics baddie, lol. Been working on dips for a few weeks now. This was my first set of my 3 x 12 today. I reached flow state after the 4th rep 🤣. I think it’s time to add some weight :)

Need honest advice: amazing foster chemistry, but I travel 3–4x a year

Hi! I recently started temp fostering as a way to test out what owning a cat would actually be like. For context, I’ve wanted a cat since my trip to Turkey in November (IYKYK lol), but have been holding off to ensure that this isn’t just a fantasy and something I actually want. I also put this on my vision board, lol.

Last week I fostered my first kitten, and I honestly didn’t expect how much chemistry we’d have. She’s 6 months old and has all my ideal cat qualities: adorable, playful, gives me biscuits, purrs a ton, lets me rub her belly, super affectionate, talkative, and just so cuddly (see my last post lol).

When I returned her to her long-term foster, she asked if I’d be interested in adopting her because of how much we bonded + my communication. She also offered to baby sit the kitten for free since she’s basically a full time foster. I did say that if I adopted, it wouldn’t be until after the second week of June since I’m traveling for a competition.

I work from home and only really leave my apt for about 3 hrs daily. I can afford a cat and have been doing my research (budgets, vet bills, insurance, etc.). My hesitation is more lifestyle-related. I travel 3–5 times a year, usually for 1–2.5 weeks at a time. I do have people who could help care for her, including the foster, but I’ll be honest… it’s nice having total freedom right now and not thinking about pet logistics.

At the same time, I’m like… what if this is one of those rare “good match” situations? We had great chemistry, and she honestly feels kind of perfect for me.

Would love honest thoughts from people who adopted after fostering or travel regularly with cats. Am I overthinking this?

353 lbs/160 kg | rep + volume PR

Emptying out some of my phone strorage by dropping this past week’s deadlifts from my SBD day here. Really happy with this rep + volume PR (3 x 4) especially after some heavy squats, benching, and feeling like shit—I’m actually surprised I didn’t fail any reps considering how fatigued I was!

P.S. I actually hate SBD days, but my coach swears by them 😅

P.S. x 2: Why is the second set always the hardest?! Lmao

P.S. x 3: Last set is always the best set 😎

375 lbs/170 kg | Squat ATPR

Final push of the block! Getting stronger is a blessing, but also very scary 😅. Excited to clean this up for Nats!

Shout out to my spotters 🙏🏽

She loves curling up into a ball!

My first temp foster (have her for a week while her current foster is out of town). She warmed up rather quickly and now I see why people foster fail, lol.
