It’s not much but I’m proud of it!

It’s not much but I’m proud of it!

Prolly the best thing I’ve done so far and I’m super happy with how it came out!

Also Danny DeVito is a treasure

How could I have done better?

This started out as Billy Bob Thornton but obviously that got away from me, decided to just charge ahead best I could. In any case what can I improve on?

Emilia Clarke Meme Face

How’d I do? I struggled so much with the hair, eventually just decided to call it and move on

So I want to build a tele and looking to go as cheap as possible for my first build as I have zero experience and I’m really just doing this as a hobby. I want to avoid building a neck as that seems beyond my capabilities at present.

Figured I’d buy a used Squier neck. Wanted to avoid the no name stuff I’m seeing on eBay as I don’t want to get into a situation where dimensions aren’t right for the neck pocket. However I’m struggling to find a used Squier neck for much less than like $80-$90. When I take into account buying all the electronics and hardware (also looking on eBay) and I’m almost at the cost of a new Squier Affinity ($250).

I’m now pivoting to thinking I’d just buy a new one, take off all the parts I need for my build, and sell the body. Does this seem like a viable option, or am I missing out on some places to buy parts that would let me do this for less?

Thanks!

Edited for more context: I want to learn to build guitars for fun, I intend on building the body but not the neck for my first build. The end result is not necessarily to have a tele to play but to learn some things along the way without spending too much as I’m sure my first project will not be all that great.

Just watched Scream 7 so decided to try and draw Sid. Tried to work on my blocking per the suggestions from some folks on here from my last post. How’d I do?
