Anyone else feel like the Ravens neglected the WR position in Flacco's first few years?

I feel like we could have won more than one ring had he had better options.

In 08 and 09 he had Derrick Mason as his #1, which was fine. Mason was a solid option producing a 1,000 yard season in 08, but he did not have great speed at that point in his career, nor did he have great size. He was more of a good route runner but someone who could get jammed a lot.

Similarly, we had Mark Clayton, who had decent speed but dropped a lot of balls. He showed occasional flashes but was ultimately underwhelming.

In the slot we had Demetrius Williams in 08 who did basically nothing, and Kelly Washington in 09 who was ok but nothing special.

In 2010 we got Anquan Boldin, who again was a good option, and very physically but didn't have great speed.

TJ Whosyourmama was ok at best as well.

This was very evident against those games against Pittsburgh when we struggled to pass the ball, leading to 2 brutal division and playoff losses, whereas they had WR's who had great speed like Santonio Holmes, Mike Wallace etc.

It wasnt until we got burners in Torrey Smith in 2011 and Jacoby Jones in 2012 that the offense took the next step and we won the division back to back years, and a Super Bowl.

Being single on SR is a blessing

Some of you guys are so bent out of shape on attracting women that you dont realize that being single on SR can be the life of a king.

You dont have to listen to anyone else telling you how to live your life, you get to retain and build in peace without being responsible for someone else, you arent constantly drained physically and emotionally.

Romantic love is fleeting, sex is fleeting. Its like getting high, in the moment it is ecstasy, but it often comes at a high price.

I understand many of you are young and/or have not experienced a deep romantic love relationship, and/or you are addicted to female validation to satisfy your ego.

It is easier said than done but SR helps you to heal from your trauma and love yourself, to the point where you wont feel like you need that validation from women anymore, and you will be very selective about who you associate with.

On the other hand, SR can make this more dangerous because yes often you will become more attractive on some level and it can get to your head and delude you into making a life changing mistake.

Romantic love can be beautiful at times but it is toxic more often than not and you must be very aware of this.

Oftentimes a person can hide their true intentions while they present themselves as the perfect person for you.

Beautiful, sexy, sweet, all until they get what they want, or don't get what they want, depending on context, then the monster inside reveals itself and its often too late where major damage is done to you, and great pain.

Very often it comes with the drama of a relationship, emotional roller coasters, emotional blackmail so on and so forth.

There are good women out there but they are few and far between, just as there arent many retainers in the world either. Not saying being a retainer automatically makes you a good person but it is the foundation of a good man.

Many women today are like Venus fly traps, but instead they are penis die traps. You put your penis into the trap that seems so alluring and it swallows it whole. Of course this is a metaphor but literal in many other ways.

There are women out there who seek to destroy you either consciously or subconsciously. Many hate to see a man live a virtuous life to himself or want to suck him dry of his resources, physically spiritually and emotionally. I understand the phrase "suck him dry" sounds provocative but its because you should have a negative association with that phrase.

Again this is not a hate women post, there are many bad men out in the world too, but because this is a mens sub i am discussing the male perspective.

This is the thing that non retaining men do not understand. They want to bash women entirely without understanding love, dating and sex from a retaining perspective, which causes them to go to dark places.

You can acknowledge the negative traits of something without bashing it entirely.

If you desire to live that life, do so, but with extreme caution.

Thinking of our front this year

Edit: title says our front but really I meant the defense as a whole lol.

Hendrickson, Jones, Campbell, Beeks, Green and Robinson just seems so freakin nasty on paper. If we get all pro Roquan instead of all dough Roquan and Trenton Simpson coming off a year where he took a leap, I am so stoked about the potential of our defense.

The secondary has some questions, like can Marlon still be a top corner, can Wiggins rebound from a rough year, can Starks take the next step etc, but overall our defense legitimately is exciting imo.

Thought of an interesting what if

Back in the 2023 AFC championship game we were down 14-7, when Bateman got open down the sideline for what would have likely been a TD, and Lamar winded up to throw before he was strip sacked for a turnover.

If he gets the throw off, do you think we go on to win?

Similarly on the next drive, if Lamar houses the pass he caught from himself and we tie the game on that play as well.

Our defense shut the Cheifs down the rest of the game. To me, its not too hard to conceive of us riding the momentum from either of these plays and get rolling on offense.

Favorite underdog season?

Whats your favorite team that no one thought had a shot? For me i would say the 2017 Jags because how unexpected their playoff run was.

The Bills win was ok but going into Pittsburgh and knocking off the Steelers was shocking, and then coming so close to beating the Patriots in the AFC championship with Blake Bortles at QB.

Their playoff run reminds me a lot of the 2019 Titans.

Ugliest uniforms in NFL history?

When i think of the worst two uniforms in the history of the NFL, the first ones that come to mind are the early-mid 2000s Rams. Their previous uniforms were actually kinda nice, they had a vibrancy to them with the yellow and blue, then they decided to blow that up and go with the ugliest colors I have seen on an NFL field. They looked completely soulless.

The next ugliest would be the mid 2000s Buffalo Bills. They also had good looking uniforms (which they brought back thankfully) but the mid 2000s uniforms were an eye sore.

What say you?
