Is getting into Roblox Game-Dev even really worth it anymore?

Well this post is actually more like 2 questions that are semi related. Firstly, what the title says. I've been hearing a lot about new systems Roblox is implementing to "protect the kids" but actually make posting games and getting a fairly decent player-base INSANELY hard.

So I'm debating whether it's even worth starting to learn coding. Because obviously I don't want to invest years into it, and by the time I'm competent enough to make a game; either Roblox has much worse systems, or has lost a significant chunk of its own player-base.

Now for my second point. Is LuaU as a language meant to be so hard to learn? Like I understand the very basic essentials such as loops, variables, scoping (to an extent, it's still one of the things I struggle with) and things like task.wait() but for some reason I'm still getting tripped up on things I should know.

I believe there's 3 reasons for this. I think one of my issues is I absolutely suck at debugging, and I struggle to find training material or tutorials to become better at it. I really struggle with combining slightly more complex concepts together, often it turns out I need a whole new thing that I don't think I would have ever discovered naturally, which actually leads into my last point.

My last thing I struggle with is knowing when to implement something new and what that might be. Like I might think I just need more of one type of feature or implementing it slightly different, but I struggle to find out WHY my idea doesn't work, therefore finding the missing piece that allows for me to search for whatever I'm missing.

One last thing. If it helps people understand why I might be struggling, I'm AuDHD so not only do I struggle to keep track of what I'm doing, I can also get completely lost when I thought I knew the answer to something I didn't, if that makes sense.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :D

How are you actually supposed to make friends once your out of school? (Male, 16)

So I've just completed secondary school and recently been thinking about how to make friends. For the past year or so I've basically became a social outcast. This is mainly due to moving schools and old friendships breaking off, stuff like that.

Currently I'm in a position where it seems impossible to make friends. I'm not in school, I'm not yet able to find any kind of formal job where I'd be around friendship opportunities.

I'm just wondering how you're actually supposed to do it? With this subject there's a lot of talk of "just being around people" which in my current situation is essentially impossible (Literally nothing where friendships can happen occurs in my town lol) and I don't really have any old friends to reconnect with.

I struggle with Autism+ADHD so I'm sure you can imagine I already struggle socially, especially when it comes to picking up on social cues.

It's worth mentioning, I kind of don't have hobbies either, I mean that literally (i spend most days struggling to find YouTube videos to watch as most don't interest me, yet it's all i have). Back when i did have friends, I had a fair few hobbies but as those all broke off, so did my interest in those hobbies as i had no one to share them with.

I'm not 100% sure if there's something I'm missing, or if in my current situation it's kind of just impossible and I have to suck it up for the next few years.

any help would be appreciated!

How does navigating the UK railway system work?

Hi! So, I have an upcoming trip to Edinburgh, and I've never had to navigate through the railway system so I'm a little nervous. My main worry is that I'll somehow get lost (Especially when trying to find the Tube), or not know how to get to or what platform I'll need to get on. I've looked everywhere online and I just can't get a clear answer.

Would anyone who has had a bit more more experience in train stations be able to help me understand all this?

Also, I just wanted to check, is the Tube included in my train ticket or do I have to buy that separately?

Btw sorry if what I want is a little unclear. I'm just a little stressed about all this as it's all very soon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a more realistic UK passport timeline

https://preview.redd.it/5wcw07hzjtah1.png?width=570&format=png&auto=webp&s=4cff7657bfa5044fc4626c10f8cf977004c0ffdb

So on this subreddit, I see a lot of UK passport timelines. Most of them are over the span of 2 weeks or so for the whole thing. This is only really realistic if you already have someone who can countersign lined up, they don't ask for extra documents, and you do it at a time of year where Passports aren't in demand.

Here's everything you need to know:

I am a British citizen from birth, and this is a first, adult passport (16+)

Extra documents were requested (My fathers birth certificate) on June 17th

Passport interview was on the 30th of June, my application got accepted about 5 minutes after we completed the interview

The Passport itself was received on the 2nd July

I haven't received my supporting documents yet, but it says to expect them 2 weeks after receiving your passport

Hopefully this post can help someone!

Why is it asking for my mum's birth certificate if I have already sent it?

https://preview.redd.it/4ysfhffuft7h1.png?width=367&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a4e19da962ca840ad687ee99633b4b105c5a9e6

I'm already a little annoyed that they are asking for my dads when they hadn't asked for that originally. But I'm just so confused about my mums part. The wording makes it seem like they're asking for some other type of birth certificate when I had already sent my mums. Is this just a generic template email and they're only asking for my dads or are they asking for a whole different type of birth certificate for my mum?

Any help is appreciated! :)

How long might it take for my UK passport application to be accepted?

Ok so I'm confused on how long it actually takes for an application to be accepted. The Gov UK website states around 3 weeks, but I'm seeing passports being accepted in as little as 3 days on subreddits like UKvisa.

I'm mainly confused on what's realistic, whether these guys are just luck or if the stated timeline on the Gov UK website is pessimistic.

If it helps, I'm British from birth and this is a first adult passport application.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Royal Mail "Guaranteed by 1pm" appears to still be sitting at the post office past its due arrival time?

I'm really confused. I'm not sure if I misunderstand what "Guaranteed by 1pm next working day" means but I had sent this on Saturday, now it's Monday 13:30 and it still hasn't even moved or anything.

I understand that it wouldn't ship on Sunday, but by Monday I was expecting it to arrive.

I posted it around 14:30 on Saturday so it's possible I was maybe past what was eligible for 1pm on Monday, and it would have been moved to Tuesday (I'm pretty sure I'm not though). Even if that's true, I would have expected some movement by today?

Here's the screenshot of the page, if anyone thinks they know what I might be doing wrong or if Royal Mail has messed up somehow, how I'd go about getting a refund and ensuring the documents still arrive please, let me know!

Does anyone know a way to book solo accommodation in Edinburgh at 16?

Hi! So I'm planning a trip to Edinburgh! The main goal of this trip is to get experience with flying (I'm from England) and solo travel!

The main thing I seem to be running into issues with is finding solo accommodation which takes on 16 year olds. Most hotels/pods/hostels only seem to take on 18+.

From my research, it seems like the only options are dorm rooms with 10s of other people and I'm just not comfortable with that.

Is there any way for me as a 16 year old to get accommodation without paying crazy amounts of money, having to go into shared accommodation, skirt the rules, or have to navigate really confusing websites.

If anyone has experience with this issue, and a solution or just knowledge on whether it's even possible or not, let me know!

So i brought these adifoam shoes off vinted, but with the left shoe only, there's this tapping sensation every time i step.

It feels like it's something to do with that outer plastic.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it fixable? Let me know!
