Provence Wine and Dine

I just saw someone else post about wine tasting and I thought I’d do the same but narrow it down to where I’m staying. We’ll be staying in Bonnieux.

I’d love a few recommendations for wine tasting as well as favorite bakeries and restaurants that are relatively nearby. We’ll more than likely be visiting Gordes, Rousillon, Menerbes, and Lourmarin (for starters!)

Provence in September

We’re traveling to Provence the first two weeks of September and need to pack very light. What sort of a jacket should we bring? Also, we may want to go to a nice restaurant or two during our stay. How dressy should we plan for?

Another question for anyone who is there now - how’s the air quality with the fires? I realize they’re not that close by but how’s it going?

Hotel credit $50

Current offer is for $50 reward in a single transaction over $100. If I’m staying somewhere multiple nights and the hotel will allow me to break up the transactions, can I apply the offer more than once?

Paze & Dunkin question …….

Has anyone had this happen? I bought a Dunkin card on the app and sent to myself via text. I somehow dismissed the popup notification on my phone.

I got an email saying it was sent but did not get the email saying it’s been claimed because it hasn’t been. I was charged on my card and got the Paze credit back already, so no money lost but no card!

I tried contacting Dunkin via email and it said to call them. I called and recording said to contact via website. I called again and sat on hold for an eternity and finally hung up. Will they try to send it again if it’s not claimed? I have been successful buying a couple more via email and got the Paze credit. I won’t send via text again!

BUD & Refills

I apologize because I know this has been discussed to death but I’m not sure how to find this exact answer.

I keep extending with my provider because I’m still happy at the lowest dose. They’ve told me this is the last extension or I’ll need a new consult and they might not be able to get be back on my current dose. I understand all of that.

Because I haven’t increased my dose I have quite a bit left but it’s going beyond the BUD date and I’m okay with that.

Question - if and when I have to start over, how do I explain this? They aren’t gonna want to hear I’ve been using well beyond the BUD date. Should I say I was pausing for a while?

eBay or post office

The Post Office picked up all my packages today and within hours eBay is showing they’re all delivered in the same town as the scan. Obviously a huge mistake.

Is this a post office problem or an eBay glitch? Has anyone ever seen this? I’ve been selling for years and I’ve never seen this one before. I’m thinking understaffed postal employees probably due to the holiday but how can a mistake like that even happen?

Lacoste

Visiting Provence in September and thinking of making our home base in Lacoste. Will be there about 9 days and plan to visit Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Roussillon, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, and maybe Gordes, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence or
Les Baux-de-Provence. But we also plan on some take it easy and do nothing time!

Thoughts about staying in Lacoste? We found a great rental, don’t mind that it’s not as lively as some other places, but curious if anyone has some input. We’ll have a car for transporation.

Making Friends

60F and recently retired. Married and husband still working another year. So the question isn’t so much about how to make friends but wondering how others navigate this.

We have never been good at making married couple friends. Did a few things over the years with the kids friends parents but nothing stuck.

My husband doesn’t make friends, period. I hear that one is kind of common. I’ve made female friends over the years while working or at the gym but they’re my friends. Sometimes something might come up where we’ll both participate but overall it’s been my thing.

Now that I’m retired I’m thinking about this more. Do I continue to seek out activities on my own to keep meeting people on my own and if it turns into a couples thing, great but don’t push it? Should I be looking for couple activities? Do all married people at this age have couple friends? It seems like a tall order that two couples will be a match when we all know hard it is to make friends as individuals.

We’re pretty independent people and always have been.
Married close to 30 years and I think it’s our independence and unique interests that keeps us together! I’m feeling confused about the next chapter.
