Alright another New Player Question

Can your "Captain" NPCs - not trigger missions? Do YOU have to pilot all missions?

I broke my starter save because I got a mission called "Eye for an Eye" (I think it was the name) where I was asked to destroy criminals around the starter Terran Wharf on the Terran Cadet start.

I had already hired a pilot and set him to "patrol" the wharf with a 10km radius. He did for a bit and nothing happened.

I sat down in the pilot seat and all the sudden Red units started appearing everywhere.

Okay... sure... I killed one and got 1/4 of the quest done. Then I killed another and got a -1 rep with Terran and told my "criminal" record had been updated.

Killed another 2/4 for the quest.

Killed another and got another -1 rep "criminal" record updated.

This ping pong'd 3x and the Quest completed - but when I tried to redock I was told (despite still being Neutral with Terran that I wasn't allowed to dock. I saw I had a "mail" and it had said it removed my standing as a Cadet and I lost all my starting licenses.

Just because I was doing the thing the quest requested I do, versus only red marked enemies with -27 to -30 hostile rating on scan.

So...I deleted the save and decided to start over, but my question is:

  1. Can my Captain not trigger missions (even if I'm on the ship)?
  2. Why did my mission do this? Why did some count and others ruined my rep?

Mind you the quest was marked "Very Easy" and was the immediate Wharf quest to do.

Weird UI issue - Does anyone know what's causing this?

3440x1440p
I turned off literally every setting and some helped but they don't fully go away. The bubbles are fluid and if i move my cursor over them they deform.

They also fluidly connect to each other if they cross paths.

Super weird, as this has not been present until I started a "real run" vs the Tutorials.

If you can't see what I see try this picture: https://i.imgur.com/lQCg0fX.jpeg

Is "The Young Gun" the purist start for a new player if I don't care about Story? Should I disable Kingdom's End?

LOL: Every response has been a different answer... can't say this has been helpful. Guess I'll just do w/e the guided nonsense is and see if it ruins the experience.

I'm not looking to start with literally nothing, I just don't want a heavy handed story start, or a full space station. I want to start with like a basic ship and told to "go".

I've also read that new players should disable Kingdom's End if they own it due to some sort of story thing that causes issues.

What is the best way to do this?

I know Terran Cadet says "guided" and "new player" friendly, but it sounds like it's handheld.

Not sure if the Devs read Reddit - But just some "initial" new player experience...

PLEASE NOTE: I just picked this game up, It sounded really cool from Cohhcarnage, and I was getting SP Eve Online vibes, before buying I researched if I would have to do the "Elite Dangerous" flying stuff because I always fine these type of weird Axis'd space flying games to play really badly, (keyboard and mouse).

I ended up getting it because of the Steam Sale and I am going to be frank I'm only in the Tutorials and I'm already a bit frustrated by these terrible controls (that feel intentionally designed to be a giant pain in the ass to the player).

The one that's prompted this post is the "Object Scanning" tutorial under Intermediate where you need to both scan an ARG Factory with your Ship and then two tiny radio things in your Spacesuit.

And holy hell, it took me 15 minutes of just circling the Factory trying to scan the "marked" area only for it to randomly work when I tried to dock instead of scan. The whole experience was awful. The flying is disorienting and annoying. For all the tutorials I've just used "Target Object" -> "Autopilot" because the flying is so bad.

But it got...SO MUCH worse when I had to go out on my space suit and get literally inside the wall to scan the radios and the space suit relative speed nonsense making it not only disorienting but hyper frustrating to stop long enough to scan the object / let alone repair the second one.

This feels so bad.

I can't tell you how much I would pay for this game to have Eve's camera and flight mechanics. Because I bet this game is incredible...but the flying/spacesuit flying stuff it horrendous, docking is horrendous, it doesn't feel "sim" it feels bad.

Eve nailed this bit, the camera work, the flying, the targeting...beautiful and seamless, the ability to zoom out to see the scale and size of things...seamless.

Here, it feels like they wanted to make a "Sim" first then pivoted to persistent sandbox and the Sim parts just got left behind and forgotten. I know later I can hire a captain and my god never deal with this again, but it shouldn't be like this at all, let alone the tutorial.

I'd PAY good money for a DLC that just gives me Eve's camera, and movement, and mechanics.

Additionally, proportions feel so wrong, another area where Eve absolutely nailed it. My ship is like 1/18th the scale of a space station. That feels ridiculous.

You ever fly a single manned ship next to a space station in Eve? I feel like so far X4 feels 95% of the way Eve feels, but it's missing that last 5% where it actually factors in Player QOL.

I never want to touch the movement in this game again, and I know I can work around it, but man - please just give me a DLC that mimics Eve's mechanics to I can enjoy watching my fleet battle from an Isometric view.

Trying to help a player by reviewing their Demos, but none of the Overview pages has a download/watch demo button? - I thought you didn't need FaceIT to see these?

None of his games has a download/watch demo button unless I am missing something.

Google says you don't need Faceit to share these demos - is that not accurate?

I'm Going to Defend 1047 for One Moment Because Dumb Posts Need to Stop...

First thing first, I agree that 1047 Games has made gigantic levels of baffling repetitive mistakes, and many of those mistakes can be pointed back to a single individual.

HOWEVER; the rampant amount of stupidity I keep reading here about 1047 and Splitgate 1/2/AR is getting obnoxious to the point that I feel you all need to be smacked with reality.

>1. 1047 Games is a BUSINESS. It needs money to operate.

"1047 abandons their games!" "Where is Season 3!" "You all lied to us"

Guys... no studio with the headcount that 1047 Games has is going to survive on:

https://preview.redd.it/mcb30httpl8h1.png?width=652&format=png&auto=webp&s=e35d917bb4d2b0ac6128ad43e9c2e4724ee0d8af

Being mad that a BUSINESS trying to find a way to survive is not accommodating a failed venture that would literally kill their Studio if they continued to spend time on it is remarkably stupid to be attacking them for.

There is not enough of you to support a studio, and more than likely less than 20% of you are spending any money on it to begin with.

You are lucky they didn't just shut the servers down to extend their Empulse runway and push Splitgate players back to the P2P SG1 offering they already provided the "409" of you.

Because in the REAL world a real CEO would have cut the cord a LONG time ago. Cut the losses and put the money back into a new venture / project. Hell if I was IAN I'd be doing this immediately.

Because the loss of probably 1,000-2,000 of you across all platforms literally is meaningless when he needs 10-100x more players than you are providing them to support and grow the studio.

They also went out of their way to give you all 3 years of server uptime for SG1 when it had 400 players and then spent more time to give you a P2P offering to continue playing while still trying to support SG2 and developing Empulse.

You all need to accept that SG2 is not a viable product. It's a commercial failure and producing content for it is pure loss for the studio.

>IF YOU REALLY WANTED SG2 TO GET UPDATES

You wouldn't be trying to kill Empulse with your rampant bitching. Because, 1047 NEEDS this to be successful and if Empulse ended up somehow gaining 200,000 players and the studio started drowning in capital then they could update SG2 with new seasons after stabilizing.

>But coming in here to complain and kill their marketing efforts, killing their hype, killing their messaging, and crying that SG2 died for this... ensures that SG2 WILL die for this.

>Additionally, SG2 didn't die because of Empulse. SG2 died in November of 2022.

That might confuse you...since SG2 didn't release until 2025... but what Ian didn't accept faster was that Splitgate was a failed venture in a whole 3 months after SG1 released.

He still has to learn how to "Fail fast, and pivot faster". Empulse is that first attempt for him.

He's learning from his mistakes.

>So what now?

Be happy he hasn't deleted SG2 from existence, extended his runway for Empulse, and pushed you to SG1 P2P.

Because, that is exactly what he should be doing.

Be thankful him and his team even provided you a P2P SG1 platform so you always have Splitgate to play.

Because, I would have deleted and aborted the project in Nov. 2022 and started Empulse much sooner.

Since he HASN'T done this yet, then you should be hoping your absolute dicks off that Empulse is successful so Ian has the capital to keep SG2 afloat and maybe put some people on making future seasons off the profits of Empulse.

But the reality is EVEN if a season 3 does come out for SG2... fing less than 1,000 of you would even show up for it.

https://preview.redd.it/91val9fhsl8h1.png?width=268&format=png&auto=webp&s=0b0776cece4d10a7c020b4d280756893483b654a

It's a giant waste of time for Ian to even bother accommodating 1% of the amount of players he needs to keep his studio afloat.

>TL:DR for those who need to read this

SPLITGATE IS NOT SUCCESSFUL. It secured them 100mill (and in that it was successful), but the game itself was a colossal failure... 3x over.

>To Ian, the dying dog has rampant cancer that is spreading to all your future projects. Do what any sensible adult would do and euthanize SG2 to give hope for the studio to have a chance with future projects. Cut your losses (It's part of business). Push fans to SG1 P2P and put 100% of your focus on making something better.

Make Empulse Better... extend your runway... and focus on Empulse's faults.

Empulse Proves 1047 can make an FPS Game, but still can't figure out how to make them Competitively interesting.

This isn't really news to anyone who knows Splitgate's rise and fall, but Empulse really hammers the problem home with 1047 as a whole.

They are clearly talented at making game mechanics function... good FPS, ADS, decent movement, the mechanics of the game can generally rival some of the mid-field double-a crowd.

However, they fundamentally have 0 understanding of how to make competitive modes / gameplay design.

And this single reason will lead to the same result as Splitgate regardless of game they make. When you look at the competition that has managed to survive the FPS space (despite rampant cheating) it's always down to competitive viability of the game / game modes.

>- The Finals
- COD Warzone
- APEX
- Valorant
- Counter-strike
- R6:Siege
- Overwatch
- Deadlock

These games thrive on the concept of winning and losing. Team Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch-lite game modes / casual game modes do not make a sustainable game for a studio to be funded off of... examples of this common reoccurrence of failure:

>- Splitgate 1/2/AR
- Lawbreakers
- Halo Infinite
- Battleborn

The problem with Empulse is the same problem 1047 has always had...there's no reason to play the game. TDM is not good enough to capture an audience in 2026. If the game can't have viable, strong, well mapped out competitive modes it will fail... and EVEN if they are good it may still fail as we've seen with many attempts to break into the competitive scene.

Titanfall 2 ...and I can't explain this enough... IS NOT a sustainable audience for a Studio. Titanfall 2 is this extreme rose-tinted memberberry of a concept that in reality NEVER took off or was actually popular. You cannot sustain off 1,000 concurrent players in 2026... Splitgate 1 couldn't, 2 couldn't, AR couldn't and Empulse won't either.

If you cannot learn to make GOOD competitive MAPS (this is crucial) and modes that are competitively viable...you will not have a large enough audience. It's just the reality. Making 1 giant Cube map and having no clear reason besides jumping around TDM fighting each other is not going to work.

If you want to see what I mean - let's go WAY, WAY back to something like Jedi Outcast where the maps are designed to be competitive and open for speed / movement and only people with the mechanics / tech knowhow can get the most about of traversing the map at max speed. (Something like this) (Or this)

People may not be old enough to remember Wall Running / Speed FPS games prior to "Titanfall" but this stuff existed a decade or two before it was seen in Titanfall. We used to speed around maps in CTF at incredible speed in games prior to Titanfall. Hell, even going back to Tribes... we were wall gliding and sliding faster than anything in Titanfall/Empulse decades prior.

But the game needs competitive structure - not just good FPS mechanical foundations (though these are equally important).

Which (instead of force powers) I think the mechanics of "paint" and "wall running" can achieve on maps designed around placement and speed of wall transitioning. But the MAP must be designed for it.

>- Mechs - Get rid of them
- Melee - Get rid of it
- Grapple Hook - Get rid of it
Titanfall 2 was NOT a commercially successful game...stop trying to replicate it.

(Use YOUR uniqueness area) Make the entire game around Paint / Paint types for speed, or anti-speed (like one paint can boost your speed and another can be laid defensively to reduce someones speed that you can lay behind you like a banana peel in mario kart) then maybe a few other paints - maybe one where it's a trap paint and if an enemy hits it they get flashbanged (like counter-strike). And another paint that acts as a smoke grenade like Counter-strike... you can play with the paint system enough to make tactical paints. Then make an economy around round win/loss and affording the different paints (Like buying utility in Counter-strike) - get a consultant who understands how economy in Counter-strike/Valorant works and use them to balance this.

Then you have a game based around tech of using paint for offensive and defensive speed/map control. Make maps smartly that have means to speed boost wall run through corridors/areas and then make competitive game modes around that. (Like Capture the Flag, but maybe even come up with something new and fresh) (HELL I'LL GIVE YOU A FREEBIE - Look at how the Round Based gameplay of THREEWAVE Capturestrike in Quake 3 worked. As that was a massive mode for competitive players outside of the main 1v1, 2v2 gameplay in Quake 3 back in the day)

You can still have casual game modes like TDM/DM/Instagib/Gun Game...etc., but that's stuff that people can't play in competitive.

This is just Splitgate fumble 3.0? 4.0? It's already a better foundation without portals because they were inherently extremely bad for competitive gameplay. But, the same mistakes of not understanding how to use the speed/paint mechanics in a competitive sense will lead the same exact result that 1047 has produced 3x over.

You need to get someone in 1047 games who understands how to make competitive environments and game modes. It's imperative to the game surviving and to 1047 as a studio surviving.

Any POE2FILTER Experts? I'm trying to get rid of useless bases...

I've tried to get this to work now for a minute where I just want "Armor" based items to show, I have no use for Evasion or ES bases (even if they are "exceptional bases") I can't seem to figure out how to turn off "exceptional" bases or not show anything but armor. In the "My Armour" section only "Armour" bases are chosen, but in "Other Equipment" it's primed for exceptional bases.

I want to only see "Armour" items and get rid of these evasions/es bases from view.

Any idea how to do this?

When you mess up REALLY bad - and turn a 2 min fight into a 2 hour fight...

Doing an Iron Ward test - I have no offensive attack besides Iron Ward... I went into my 3rd Ascendancy trial - easy peasy - see node right before boss room to be immortal from damage - how nice Easy Boss win...

Except it turns off damage completely and Iron Ward stacks mitigated damage. So, now... I'm sitting here punching him with my fist for 50dmg a strike in a Fisticuffs battle of the Immortals for the next...

Lord knows... 3 hours?

:(

How is this even possible? Are there cheats in TemTem for this?

3 week old account... 10 Umbras... including a Umbra Shuine...

Taking into account % chance of even getting procs this would be an absurd feat of luck.

What even is this?

Din Djarin (Season 1 ONLY) vs Grendel King (Predator) - READ BODY for CONTEXT.

This is SEASON 1 (Prison Episode - AS PICTURED) Din Djarin - with his upgraded armor and pistol. NO SNIPER RIFLE. NO SABER. Has Utility Belt.

Din is given a Puck for the Grendel King and told he must capture him and return him to the Guild within a weeks time.

Din is as LOCKED IN on this task as he was in the Prison Episode (IMO his Peak/Prime).

Can he do it?

Grendel King is on his planet, he has access to ~5 troop members and himself (about what is shown in the movie).

Alternatively, does Din Djarin end up getting put on ice in the cryo-pod room and added to the collection?

Before anyone immediately rushes to just complain about Shop items... we're past that point with this game. This is a very real talk about predatory shop mechanics that actually do the reverse of making me want to spend money.

So a WoW collab dropped. And there's some cool items within the collections that I would think would be cool to have... namely...

>- Paladin Judgement Armor
- Ashkandi
- Maladath
- Ragnaro's Pet
- Wing's of the Betrayer
- Current Battle Pass
- WoW Battle Pass

But, since I can't actually target these items and add them to my cart as individual items that have individualized pricing I instead have to buy a bunch of extra armor sets I have no need for or interest in...

So for 1 armor, 2 weapons, 1 pet, 1 wings, and 2 battle passes comes too:

17,200 prem. currency.

Which requires the $150.00 USD purchase tier.

...

"No."

This is silly nonsense, and exceptionally greedy. To the point of instead of having a cart and individualized pricing to customize the purchase to something closer to $40-50 for the items desired... I instead.... offer to give you $0.

The stupidity of this tactic is actually costing you my inclination of wanting to actually give you extra money.

So, now for this new collab I'll give you nothing. Because, I'm not going to buy $150 worth of stuff I don't want for the handful of things I am interested in.
