Unpopular Opinion: I like run backs

I don't mean some crazy ones like Bed of Chaos. But generally I think putting a bonfire/checkpoint right before the boss fight is lazy. I love when there's a genius shortcut from the starting bonfire to the boss arena, like No Man's Wharf in DS2, and Dragonslayer Armour in DS3. Also sure, having to deal with enemies before a boss is pretty annoying, and it's nice to feel safe before the boss. but sometimes I consider them as one of the challenges of the boss itself. If they're made balanced and thoughtfully, they could be fun.

Update on my opinion about the difference in Dark Souls games

In the last post I said I'm playing DS3 and I'm in Anor Londo. Well now I just finished the base game w/ all the bosses.
Man it was a fantastic and mind-blowing experience.

I'm still on my words, Dark Souls 1 is unique. But this is for sure a masterpiece too; just a different one. They're both S tier for me and will be in my heart forever. Also sorry DS2 fans, I didn't like it this much. But I promise I'll play it once more later, maybe I'll change my mind.

Anyways, the bosses, the environments, the level design and so many more were all PEAK. Thanks god I have the DLCs to play because I still need more of this game.

(Sorry for bad English, I'm not native)

Is Arch safe to use now?

I have used Arch before and I loved it.

Currently I'm using Bazzite, it's a great distro. But I dislike somethings about it like the immutability.

Also it's slower on a HDD than other distros for whatever reason I don't know.

So I decided to switch to CachyOS. But the recent news of malware and viruses in the AUR packages worried me a little bit. Is the situation really bad?

Why is Dark Souls 1 more iconic and memorable to me?

Hi.
I've finished Dark Souls 1 about 5 times. Dark Souls 2 once and right now playing Dark Souls 3. (Currently in Anor Londo). It's a great game, very well made and enjoyable. It's the most polished one imo.

But I feel like the most places and bosses are generic, even tho the weapons, the enemy movesets and sometimes even the level design is improved and better.

I don't know if it's that Dark Souls 1 was my first one, and I finished it way more times or something about this game is really different. I can't tell. Maybe it's because you finish DS3 levels one by one, but Dark Souls 1 is interconnected and you visit each area many times for different purposes.

Also I had a similar feeling about Sekiro. Played it only once but I loved every second of it and there's at least one memory of each part of it in my mind.

But then I got snapped back to reality and realised that my personal life situation is shit
So I'm kinda terrified and hopeless and sad right now

Uhm also yeah this post is serious but I just wanted to say this to someone but I thought main subs aren't suitable

I have some bad news for Mortal Shell fans

See, if the developers of Mortal Shell are gonna truly getting inspirations from Dark Souls series, it's guaranteed that the best Mortal Shell game is already determined: The second one. And there is absolutely no hope for the third game. As everyone knows the first one was janky and mediocre, and with my argument being said, the third one is also gonna be trash just like Dark Souls 3. The only thing you can do is praying for developers to follow their own seperate way instead of Miyazaki's and FromSoftware's.

How to make a LLM based on some books?

Hi. I have a small programming background but I'm completely new in ML, Is that possible to make a language model that has has read and knows everything about some books related to a topic, NOT from scratch? What techs and tools does it need? Is it only possible with local models or also APIs?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I just wanna get the idea of how this works.

Thank you

Annoying Pixel Strokes on Some Objects

I have finished the game once on Windows, I had never this problem. Now on Bazzite, I opened the game once for testing just after installation. Also that time I didn't have this problem. But it currently exists and is so annoying.
Some information I remember:

ShadPS4 Version: 0.9.0 and 0.12.5
Mods: Vertex Explosion Fix, Boczekek's FPS Boost, Reduced Physics, Intel SFX Fix

Bazzite Version: 44
OpenGL and Mesa Version:

OpenGL version
string: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 26.1.4

CPU: Intel i5-9400
Graphics: AMD RX580

Something that might be important: that first time that the game was running well, I hadn't updated Bazzite yet.

Linux gaming is real!

I was thinking about how Linux has improved in gaming recently. I thought maybe I should try it too!
There are many options for distros, I went for Bazzite and so far I'm loving it.
Currently tested the games in the screenshot and everything works pretty well.
Also I have a small dual-booted Windows (about 20% of my storage), only for some online games that their anti-cheat doesn't work on Linux.

Is this installation error important?

I get this error while installing, but bazzite is completely installed and works out of the box. Should I be worried about this?

Yeah I shouldn't have thought that I learned the game...

Embarrassed for speaking English in Discord

Hello everyone.

I have joined some communities related to the video games I play in Discord. I can communicate with them in text, somewhat confidently, with a little bit of help from Google Translate or AI.

But I'm not feeling confident about my voice communication at all. I want to make friends and have fun with them, but I can't just ask them to tolerate my lack of English knowledge, because they're a bunch of friends that want to hang out with each other.
