Oris Okavango

Birthday gift from my wife and daughters. Incredible dial and great story about its origins. Oris has been knocking it out of the park. Enjoy the day 🙏

Just puts a smile on my face everytime I take a glance.

Thought I was done with Oris for a bit after recently purchasing the Aquis  Taste of Summer BUT.. fate had other plans.

Reddit is to blame 😂.. while going through some watch pics on a few forums I came across the Okavango! If there was ever love at first site.. this was it. When many think of textured, unique dials, GS is usually atop the list. This piece however was so unique, so different that I really couldn’t get it out of my mind. The genesis behind the design is really a great story and a call to nature which you can’t really appreciate in pictures. The dial pattern has a 3D effect, resembling reeds of tall grass. It’s a bright dial, very easy to read. No need for complexity on a dial pattern like this.

Pretty basic movement but a reliable one (Oris 751 Sellita 220-1 ). Comes with two straps, a custom from Erika’s Originals and a leather, NATO one. The Erika strap is really light and very comfortable.

I purchased this through WatchMaxx, next day delivery. They were a breeze to order from! Really can’t say enough about how gorgeous this piece is. I plan on using this as a daily and dress watch. Particularly in the summer, with a tan and nice bright button down,  I have no doubt it will be the topic of many conversation.
