56 yr old, former competitive bodybuilder in great shape! My new doc had my panels done recently and my LDL’s were 130 ( down from 190 ) on just 5mg of Rosuvastatin . My total Cholesterol is 180. Heart disease runs in my family.
I Have a drink maybe 1-2x a month, never smoked. My new doctor suggested a stress/ echo which I just had done a few days ago. My cardiologist thought it was overkill but I paid $2200 out of pocket anyway for the reassurance.

The results, according to my primary, were amazing. There were no changes on the EKG portion of the stress test, and the echocardiogram showed an excellent ejection fraction and normal augmentation of the left ventricle post exercise and a METS score of 12-13. I had a CAC 3 years ago and my score was 9. My cardiologist put me on 10 mg of Ezetimibe in conjunction with my statin. The goal is an LDL below 70 for now. My morning BP runs at 120/70 usually. I’m on 30mg of Lisinopril. I also have taken a baby aspirin every day for the last 15 years.

I was placed back on HRT so my doc is waiting a few weeks to test my labs again at which time I’m adding ApoB , CRP metrics. I’m incredibly relieved, especially because I’ve been on BP meds and Statins for 10 yrs now and took a very proactive approach. Great to now there are additional protocols ( Repatha, Enlicitide ) as well. My doctor said that regardless of the ApoB results, I’m already on a very proactive regimen. More than likely that result could dictate tweaking dosages of cholesterol meds to hit our target number. I firmly believe heart disease will be a thing of the past in our lifetime but for now, just wanted to share that it pays to be proactive, not reactive ❤️

Happy Father’s Day! Anyone know if the new 9’s and 5’s could be paired as a complete Dolby Atmos surround system? The 9’s II look appealing in their own, but I figured the 5’s ( as rears/ sides ) could give a more immersive feeling. Many thanks 🙏

56 yrs old, healthy and very fit with the exception of anxiety flare ups. Initially thought it was stress related ( which there is some of due to my demanding career) BUT.. the commonality of any panic /stress incidents I’ve had is that often it’s air hunger while laying in bed. It feels as if I can’t get a “ satisfying “ deep, breath in. Once that happens my mind immediately goes into fight or flight mode thinking something very wrong.

It wasn’t until I read more that my occasional acid reflux could be the culprit. I’ve woken up on occasion with a severe burning sensation in my thought and sometimes awaken with a sore through when I’ve had no symptoms the night before, despite taking Pepcid or Tums. That’s when my mother and father mentioned I likely have Gerd. They both have it and are on meds from the doc which dramatically helped them. I’m guessing my primary wouldn’t have an issue prescribing something based on my symptoms? All I want is a solid night of sleep.. it’s really frustrating 🥲

Most of this stems from a difficulty getting full breaths when laying down. I’ve also had burning sensations in my throat which lead to, in some instances , a sore throat in the am.

I was prescribed some ant- anxiety meds to take the edge off but in speaking with some friends, they suggested speaking to my primary regarding Gerd. I had never even considered this an issue as most times if I feel acid reflux I’d just take tums or Pepcid. Can acid reflux really affect breathing when laying down? Sometimes it feels as if I simply can’t get that “ satisfying “ breath in and in turn this exasperates any anxiety I have. My mother and father both had similar symptoms which were remedied by prescriptions from their doctors. Has anyone suffered from shortness of breath from Gerd where it caused much difficulty sleeping? Appreciate the listen.
