Went to Sanibel in May and it was beautiful, but we didn't find many shells on the beaches. Most of our good finds came from a boat tour to Captiva. We went to Caladesi Island last January and found tons of amazing shells.

We're planning another trip and are considering Clearwater Beach (for Caladesi and Honeymoon Island) or St. Pete Beach (for Pass-a-Grille and Shell Key Island). We're deciding between January or May.

Which area/time would you recommend for the best shelling?

My parents have accepted me and my boyfriend of almost 2 years. They've met him, like him, and even help us out with finances sometimes. But around other people (when I'm not there) they still call him my "friend." Today my dad's best friend asked if I had a girlfriend, so it's obvious they haven't told anyone. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Has anyone else dealt with this?

I’ve never seen Ocean City this bad on the 4th of July. I’ve been coming here for decades to celebrate, but after yesterday, this will likely be my last time.

There were large groups of young men wearing ski masks, smoking weed, and getting into fights, along with young women dressed inappropriately. The overall atmosphere felt chaotic and trashy.

Does anyone know where these crowds are coming from? It seems like Ocean City only looks like this around the 4th of July. Some shops were even selling clothing that promotes drug use and T-shirts with offensive language.
