We have a nice patio firepit we use fall, winter and spring. I’m thinking we could place a round stone “countertop” on top of the fire pit to create a summer table for summer drinks, apps, etc.

This random idea isn’t in the budget with kids in college, so I was hoping to do this as cheaply as possible. If there are a scrap pieces that would work, that would be optimal.

I did contact an online local “scrap piece” seller, but it quickly became apparent they were trying to get me in the showroom for a full service sell up. My “color is irrelevant, lowest price available“ didn’t seem to register.

Size: 40-42” round. Material: Cheapest stone, sun, storm resilient. Thickness: Whatever minimum that would be durable enough to roll out and back from the garage in spring and fall. Edge: cheapest rounded top and bottom edges.

Q: am I wasting my time? What might be a fair “cheapest price“ for a stone table top piece like this?

Just finished the England/Ghana game. Watching on YouTube TV on Roku Ultra. At 3 different points of the game, the Roku punted us back to the Roku Home Screen. Fortunately, didn’t miss any scores this time. Anyone experiencing this issue? Is there a fix?

Leased an EV (Polestar) for a 90 mile daily commute. Gas savings covered the lease payment and it’s a fun car.

Wife ran into a curb last month and the wheel is still functional, but looks like shit. Dealership charges $1K to replace it.

I’m assuming I could find a used one in a salvage yard, for a fraction of the cost.

In my 20s, I had a Toyota, and the powered side mirror completely disappeared one day while parked in the city. (I’m assuming someone knocked it off, and then just took it.) Anyway, I went to a salvage yard looking for a replacement. They didn’t have one, but they checked their computer, and told me a salvage yard across the city did I drove over, picked up that used mirror, and installed it. Problem solved.

Given everything is connected these days, is there a legit site where I can locate and purchase a used replacement wheel for the polestar? I understand it’s a more obscure model for used parts. I did some searching online, but most sites I found seem to be smaller businesses with limited inventory, offering a new wheel at a small discount.
